It is a great spot for friendly women of all varieties to come together in the inland north county. The Woman's Club Motto is : Goals to pursue. The Club Aim is : The cultivation of interest in intellectual and civic pursuits. I like that the gals here have all kinds of activities going. There are general monthly meetings, a Literary Club, Card Parties, (reservations required) & a Ladybug Garden group. Good for the ladies here that the Club contributes to the Ramona community is by awarding annual scholarships. These scholarships provide grants for two continuing college students. With the members' support of fund raising events, a third scholarship may be awarded to a student senior seeking vocational training. The Clubhouse can be rented out for local events & that is how the group will often raise funds for their activities and scholarship programs. Guy Woodward, a former local historian, once stated, "The Woman's Club has always been the 'Backbone of the Back Country'." Originally begun as the "Thimble Club," with 13 women in the early 19th century, the hardy Women's Club has been a longtime Ramona mainstay. In 2015-2016, they completed 104 years of continuous operation. Not much of a joiner to things like this, but the busy ladies here have my full 5 STAR Yelp admiration.

We brought camp chairs, hats, sunscreen, and binoculars. There were snakes to pet and hold, a real eagle nest you can sit in, souvenirs, and a table on humane rat traps. There was a hot dog and burger stand out back too. The presentation was great. We learned so much about the different hawks, falcons, owls, and birds in the Ramona area. The birds were beautiful and such a treat to see them up close. Highly recommend this event!
