Visited this place on our way back to the hotel. Good stop for some wine and cider tastings, crafted beers, food, small arcade, and beautiful mountains views. Very relaxing environment to enjoy with your friends and family. My kids and I visited on a slow day which made it nice because wasn't crowded. We brought our own lunches and drinks. Sat outside on the patio with scenery of the mountains. So calm and quiet at the same time listening to the birds chirping. They had corn hole as an entertainment while you eat, drink, and play. My kids really enjoyed the arcade area as I enjoyed a can of harvest apple cider which I purchased at the Julian Hard Cider. A pool table is also available in the arcade area for a small price. Totally recommend this place when you are in Julian. read more

Came for lunch on our annual trip to Julian. Still a fun atmosphere. They had a live band on Sunday and the tap rooms were cool. Staff all around still friendly. Kids love the indoors/outdoor areas. Gotta knock a couple stars though cause they no longer really have food options. Colt's Burger Bar is gone. Instead, they have pre-packaged cold sandwiches. And when I say cold, the PB&J was a rock hard. I guess they're working through some stuff regarding food. I wished they would update this information on the website. read more

We love Julian Station but lost a star due to the businesses not being open on Friday afternoon as advertised... other than Julian Hard Cider. Really unfortunate as we had a couple hungry kids and specifically chose an accommodation here because of the proximity to Julian Station and we did not want to drive around with them on this trip for food. I give this place three stars for its great little shops and Taco Shop. Right on the Hwy with plenty of free parking it's a great place to stretch your legs on the way to Julian. There is a nice Taco Stand inside if your hungry with a nice menu. Their is also a good selection of vegetarian tacos and things. At the Hard Cider Bar you can get a five flavor sample of their famous Julian Hard Cider. My son and now daughter got married here last weekend and I have to say the staff deserves more than five stars I would give them 6 stars! The tacos were fantastic and so was the chicken we had at the rehearsal dinner. If you are looking for a fun wedding location this would be a great choice if you have a can do spirit. One of the best places to stop on the way to or out of Julian. The tacos and agua frescas at Mr Manitas are as good as anything in San Diego proper, the cider tasting is fun, and there is a play area for kids. Worth noting that it can get very crowded in the busy season, and the taco bar runs out of things. We also love the Cooler for beer and sports on TV (one of the few places in Julian you can catch NFL games and drink a beer). The taco bar will run out food to the Cooler, too. read more

This place was neat - stopped by to explore it with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. There was live music, a delicious taco shop, a miniature arcade, and various other antique shops. The shops we're slightly overpriced, but still something to see. It was fairly low-key which I love - the vibe was rather homey. I recently took a field trip to Julian with the San Diego Tour Guide Association and found a hidden gem just a few minutes from downtown Julian. What a perfect location to have your large group event with several venues under one roof. There are multiple tasting opportunities for beer, wine and hard cider. Several quaint country shops, taco bar, live music make the perfect spot for group or private events. I am adding this one to my recommendation list. read more

This place is somewhere between random and awesome. There is a bar would be Julian hard cider that can be poured, you can also purchase bombers. Through some doors there is a taco shop, there is also a kiddie corral area where there are some toys for the kids to play with, on a wall across from that there are some coin operated ride on toys, pass that there are some vintage shops, a Meade tasting room, and there is a nice size outdoor patio where there was live music when we were there. All in all it gets the job done. We were able to let the kids run around for a bit, pick up some hard cider bombers, try out the apple pie flavor, (totally good as long as you like cinnamon and "pie spice flavor") and we had already eaten or I would've grab tacos. The taco place does have a large water container that we were able to fill sippy cups up with... Winning. read more

This is a pretty cute marketplace with lots of things in it (antiques, hard cider, wine tasting, fruit stand, etc). Theoretically its awesome, but it's a bit confusing with the hours. I have no idea what the hours are, especially for the individual shops. I really wanted to go to the antique store, but it wasn't open at 10am on Sat, and no one in the other shops knew when it would open. I drove past again around 11:30 and it still wasn't open, which was a little odd. More clear hours would definitely help! read more

This place has something for everyone. We were traveling to Julian in a group of 3 generations from a toddler to a senior citizen with everything in between. My husband wanted to stop in and split (since he didn't want more than a few sips as he was driving) a quick tasting for Julian Hard Cider on our way to dinner while the family waited in the car. On our way back to the Hard Cider, we passed antique shops, a chocolate and wine tasting room, air hockey, a pool table, vintage video games, a mead tasting room and when we got to the taco shop and smelled the delicious aroma and saw the kiddie play area we decided right away to go back and get everyone and stay awhile. Our toddler played contentedly while we waited for our tacos and fresh fruit salad. Our teen challenged Dad to a game of pool while my Mom and I had a chocolate and wine tasting. And our elementary aged boys loved the video games and vintage horse ride (Remember those? I am old). Everyone had a great time. It was a great vibe. My husband was able to test a few sips of the different ciders and choose one to take back to the campground for later, so he was happy. I got to feed the kids organic and locally sourced dinner so I was happy. And Grandma, after a chocolate and wine tasting she was pretty happy and slept well that night! read more

Went to Julian with the San Diego Professional Tour Guide Association and we decided to stop here for some hard cider tastings. This place is pretty cool because it has several tasting opportunities plus tacos and chocolate. I tasted 5 kinds of hard cider at Julian Hard Cider and they were all very good, my personal favorites being Cherry Bomb and Pearnormal. I tried a Hefeweizen at Cooler Craft Beer which was quite tasty and refreshing. I didn't try the tacos but asked some people having them and they said they were really good. There is also a wine and chocolate place but had to restrain myself unfortunately! Great place for groups as well, plenty of space. Very fun place! Cider tasting and wine tasting is really good - first quality cider and wine. The wine compares to anything you'd get at an expensive tasting, so if you are a wine person, this is definitely for you. Mr. Manitas was excellent! Fantastic nachos and tacos - super fresh and flavorful. The shops are quaint with lots of unique merchandise. Everyone is really friendly and laid back. Wynola Farms is the perfect little gate away if you need to leave the city behind for a few hours. My family and I ended up here by accident but boy are we glad to have found this place. Great location, Julian Station is fun, and the people are great. However, the Loft Airbnb suite could use some updating and repairs. I love rustic but the can of ant spray and the ants that visited us were not too cool. The atmosphere was quaint and fun, but......the twin beds were horribly uncomfortable, and there is no way I was going to use the mineral water orange-stained shower. Bring soap and shampoo unless you want to use prior guest leftovers. Oh, and bring extra toilet paper. Sometimes one and a half rolls doesn't go very far. For the total pricetag of $250 a night the owners should invest some of their earnings in a little rennovation and perhaps an exterminator. read more

We stumbled across this place after driving though Julian on our way in from Anza-Borrego state park. It was a little confusing, but kinda made an adventure out of an adventure-seeking day! We stayed for ocer an hour, had mexican food and shopped in one of the little places inside. I think that this is a great idea, a collective place ideal for families with all the games, plus libations for the adults! Definitely recommend stopping by if your in the area! well, on our way back down the hill last weekend, we stopped here... THE BIRDHOUSES COULD NOT BE AVOIDED! The master craftsman was not about. That's okay we'll be back when he (or she) hangs an open sign out! This was the only honest craft about the place. And it looked honestly worth coming back for. Ghost town? Yep, except for the wine and cider. Art work?? Really! Some half way respectable water colors. Wood burning. Looks like a middle school art project that mom is a little too proud of. Computer generated crayon cowboy paintings. Multiple copies of the same print taped up on the same wall. WOW! Marketing 101 FAIL! Decent people playing cards, drinking coffee. We appeared to be too late for lunch, quarter after three. The owners seem to think that wares and fares can run/sell them self. REALLY? Kitcsh and kamp are a valid motif, if that is your intent. This seemed to be an unfortunate accident. Boring. No theme, no sting, no reason to return. Coffee was good though. So, it's a wine/cider tasting room with distractions and a decent java for the road. But then there is coffee AND pie next door. THERE WAS NO PIE in this place. HUH? Who does beads anymore? Dare I saw the "New Julian" isn't in Julian proper any longer? Well, guess I just did. The renewal that Julain Station has had the last year or two has been very welcomed for your average city dweller such as myself. This small stop over on the way "up the hill" has most everything you could want when checking out the Julain area; Craft Beer tasting room (the Cooler), Craft Cider (Julian Hard Cider), Craft Mead (Golden Coast Mead) as well as a new wine and chocolate tasting room, some great fresh mexican food, gift shops and even areas for the kids to play. All the while escaping the tourist mash that can be Julian most weekends. Dont get me wrong, Julian Station can get crowded on those prime days, but parking is usually pretty easy, and there is something for everyone all within one great area.. so do yourself a favor...grab a table on the outside deck and enjoy that country life you always wanted... with a craft beverage of course! read more
