We have been here a few times and enjoyed each time. The history of Rancho Guejito is pretty amazing! Starting as a 13,298-acre ranch, to now 23,000 acres (36 square miles!) The most Rockwood Ranch was purchased and added into the property in 2006, and the Rockwood farmhouse which was built in the 1890's is now the Rancho Guejito Vineyard tasting room! Because of the size of this property, they have the space to having amazing events! Check out their calendar for event details, but they do have a lot of events for kids as well as some street faire type events. I ama not certain if they always have live music, but the times that we have been here, they have had great live music playing. They have a great selection of wines (the sweet ones for me and the not sweet ones for my wife) as well as delightful Sangria's and wind slushies. The food was actually really good here too! They have Cheeseburgers, Bratwurst, Hotdog, veggie burgers, nachos, Bavarian pretzels, charcuterie box, churros. They also had sliders when we were there, and we opted to share sliders, charcuterie box and a Bavarian pretzel. The pretzel was massive and delicious, 100% would order again. The sliders were cooked perfectly and are made from beef raised on the property where they maintain a herd of over 2000 cows! You can also purchase a Box of their 100% grass fed on open pastures beef to take home for your freezer and cook at your leisure. This is an amazing place, always a lot of fun! read more

I can see how this is a destination spot. Very decent wine, live music, 2 kids bounce houses, activity center, very family friendly. For us, it's far, we live in San Diego proper. The population density gets high. Kids everywhere, balls hitting you, dogs sniffing you. I also don't drink too much so it's like... sober hellish. The bathrooms. Wow. Trailer based. Parking can also get scarce. The food here... the burger is raised here and ground on site but there is no seasoning and the burgers are tiny. Service is decent. This would be okay for our north county friends to visit for us? This may be our second time but our last time. Not super into it. read more

What a wonderful surprise at this last minute trip to the Rancho Guejito Vinyard. We took a blanket just in case and almost needed to use it. The place was pretty well occupied when we arrived as they had live music coming on at 2:30. The music was awesome and we pretty much sipped on mimosas the whole time. The Bavarian Pretzel was good and the charcuterie box was spot on! You can't beat the scenery, being surrounded by nature! If you're anywhere nearby take the trip! read more

This is a great family-friendly winery and also a great spot for groups without kids! The enormous estate grounds and surrounding views were beautiful. We visited midday on a Saturday and there were lots of people there, but it didn't feel crowded. There were many spaces to gather: the patio by the wine bar, a grassy area next to the bar, an air-conditioned room with a couple seating areas, and a massive front lawn with picnic tables and bounce houses. The setting was enhanced by the music from the guitarist. These grounds deserves 5+ stars! The kids in our group (ages 8-13) had fun going on the hayrides, exploring the estate, and playing on the bounce houses. Glad to see that one of the bounce houses was only for kids ages 4 and under. They also offer craft activities on Sundays. We adults enjoyed the music, ambience, and wine tasting, especially since the kids were occupied with activities. The winery served several types of wine and sangria. The adults in our group rated the wines 3 stars- not amazing but not bad either. They served burgers, sliders, hot dogs, bratwurst, and nachos with ground beef, all sourced from cattle raised on their ranch. The kids and adults gave the food 4 stars. Overall, Rancho Guejito Vineyards is a fantastic place to visit! We will definitely be coming back and we'll be bringing more family friends with us. read more

I finally had the opportunity to visit this North County gem. I have been following this winery for a while and had a chance to come with a handful of girlfriends. We had a reserved table for our group of 5 girls and it was perfect since it was not too close to the music speakers or too close to other parties. Note that this is all outdoor and no indoor seating. There are a lot of picnic tables scattered with tents but try to call for a reservation if you can. Otherwise you can bring your own chairs and blankets. This place is so chill and love that it is kid friendly. There is a tractor ride you are able to bring your glass and enjoy the beautiful grounds. Lots of property and the event spacing is gorgeous. They will continue building in the next few years with a hotel and onsite restaurant which I'm exciting to see flourish. You are allowed to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks onsite and enjoy your time in a relaxed setting. There was a cool live band playing old rock hits. There is also a small tent out back where you can buy food and charcuterie boxes. The beef they sell to eat is from their ranch and they also sell beef onsite if interested. The prices are reasonable to buy onsite too! On a Sunday, there was a jumpy with a water slide so there were kids enjoying this while the parents drank. I would recommend bringing your own personal fans if it's hot because it does get super hot in the summer being outdoors. I would like to give a shout out to Hank, Brandon, and Brenda who were amazing during our visit with their personal touches and made our visit such a memorable experience. The sparking rose was my fave and had to take a bottle home. I also got a bottle of the Pinot for my husband. So good. I didn't get a chance to try the frose since it was still making at the time I asked and I totally forgot about it. Bathrooms are located in a trailer out back but they're the nice trailer bathrooms! Parking lot out front and a huge parking lot in back, so they are able to accommodate lots of guests. I recommend checking out this wonderful winery if you haven't. I was here a couple weeks ago for a wedding. It was a hot day, but I found the venue to be beautiful and a nice backdrop to a wonderful evening. I do think the venue could've had some fans during the heat wave in the lawn area but from my understanding, it's a new venue and I'm sure it'll work the kinks out. Rancho Guejito Winery is stunning, gorgeous views, great wine, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to spend the afternoon there. The wine selection is pretty solid (I especially enjoyed the 2021 Pinot Noir and 2017 Merlot), and the live music and food trucks add a nice touch to the overall experience. That said, I do have one gripe: the seating situation. There just isn't enough of it. We arrived early but still had trouble finding a place to sit. A lot of people seemed to grab tables and hold onto them for hours, even when they weren't using them, which made it hard for new arrivals to settle in. There's seating around the property, but bringing your own blanket or lawn chairs is highly suggested. Families and dogs are more than welcome here too, which is nice, but also makes it very crowded and busy. Not all dogs or children belong in public, sorry, I said what you've thought. Add adults too! Also, outside food is welcome. A lot of great things, but also not entirely perfect. Still, it's a lovely place and worth a visit. Just come early and maybe bring your own chairs. Also, they offer complimentary hayride tours. We didn't prioritize this, so we'll be sure to do so if we ever return. read more

Nice outdoor setting a couple miles east of the Wild Animal Park. No self-respecting San Diegan calls it by the new name, we all know what it is. I digress. Anywho, Rancho Guejito Vineyard offers up a nice array of wines with a wide open, outdoor setting. If you're from the area you know that the summer months out in this particular region are hotter than Lucifer's nephew's armpit. That is to say: summer time is rough out here. Fall through spring though, reasonably safe. Friendly folks, good wine, food is a 3.5/5 but you're short of options out here. All in all it's an enjoyable, wine fueled outing just east of giraffes and lions. read more

Omg, this winery is amazing! & the grounds are beautiful! My hun & I came here on a Saturday to check out their wines & try the food made fresh by Rancho Guejito Beef. Make sure to check their website/Instagram for hours because sometimes they are closed for events or close early for weddings (it closed at 3pm due to a wedding for us). I was so excited to see that they had wine slushies, white sangria & red sangria, along with loads of whites & reds! Everything was tasty, especially the cold drinks during the blistering heatwave. This vineyard is amazing! The setting is so serene and beautiful, especially in the springtime with the beautiful flowers, orchards and mountains. There is ample bench seating and you can also bring a picnic blanket. Outside food is allowed which a huge plus for me as a celiac, but there is also food available for purchase with meat grown right there on the ranch! I didn't get to try the wine since I was DD, but everyone in my party really enjoyed it. I did try the non-alcoholic orange slushy and it was so refreshing and delicious. We came on a Saturday which meant there was bouncy castles available for my kids, and they had a great time playing with the other children while we adults talked and relaxed. There was also a free hayride around the property which we would like to try next time. The live music was really nice too. This place feels like a peaceful retreat very close to home but away from the busyness of the city. We will definitely be back! read more

Rancho Guejito was the highlight of our Highland Valley wine adventure! Our group of 11 was warmly welcomed by Jacob, who checked in with us throughout our 2.5 hours on-site. Several of us enjoyed the bratwurst, hamburgers, and nachos - all of which highlighted the beef raised at the Ranch! The (free!) hayride around the grounds was a delight, as Andrew amazed us with his musical stylings and facts about their wine and produce operations. While we visited a few other wineries that day, Rancho Guejito absolutely set the bar for fun & all of us agreed that we look forward to enjoying this relaxed atmosphere again soon! read more

Our first time here. The place is absolutely lovely! The staff were great as was the wine! The property is picturesque! The music was fantastic - The Gravities band played 1-5 pm and we're such a great band to dance and listen to. Please bring them back! We brought some snacks with us and purchased some sliders, very good. They sell boxes of beef from their own cattle, grass-fed. We purchased the sample box. We came for Father's Day and it was a lot of fun. They had a live band playing 50's rock, a free hay ride where they told you about their amazing property while you get a few tastings (don't forget your glass), and there were plenty of shade structures and benches to sit under (although, we brought our own chairs and a blanket). Service is great. You can buy by the bottle or glass if you'd like to indulge more. They have a grill and pizza oven turning out great eats. They're not only a winery, but also an orchard and cattle farm (the cattle are far away - no smells). The food they are cooking up is delicious and fresh. This winery is definitely worth stopping at. Rancho Guejito opened its doors to the public five years ago.The property is made up of estate grapes and a grass-fed cattle ranch . The 32,000 acre rancho is part of a land grant from Mexico to the United States. The winery and vineyard offer tastings, which can be waived with a wine club membership. The cattle ranch provides for a portion of the food served on- site and they offer a meat program to take home. This has become my new favorite local spot to enjoy on the weekend. What is there not to like? Unique Varietals Wine Club (many benefits) Food On-Site Meat Program (beef variety) Live Music Hayrides (with wine pours) Open Seating Holiday Markets (change with each season) and Pet Friendly! I love their wines, my favorite is the red, Terret Noir. I love their meat, we make baja dogs and pot roasts. Beautiful vineyard in the San Pasqual Valley. I popped in with a friend for one of their holiday markets and what a treat it was to see so many vendors lining up a large lawn area! I can only imagine how open it is without vendors all over, but the wine, sunshine, and dog friendly space makes this place stand out! There's also a wagon that does tours through the vineyard with live music to show off the size of the property. I have definitely considered a membership here with how gorgeous the space is. It's a lovely property with lots of parking, and space to spread out. There are lots of shady picnic tables to hang out around and enjoy your wine. They are DOG and KID friendly, and usually there is a bouncy house set out front to keep the kiddos occupied. They even offer a super fun hayride tour of the property and vineyards. The service when you get through the (usually short) lines to the bar is super friendly, and how are the wines? Well, wine is a subjective thing, so some I love: like their Sangiovese, and some I hate: like their Rosé. That doesn't mean the rosé isn't wonderful, I just prefer a big red to a sweeter light wine. So you may have to get a couple of different tasting flights to find your favorites. But all their wines are well thought out, good quality, and worth the drive out to find them. read more

Lovely place to set up a picnic on a lazy Sunday and enjoy some good vibes, good wine, and live music. A a fan of Rancho Guejito Winery and Vineyard. We have been coming here for a few years now with family and friends. The vineyard is located in very scenic and beautiful San Pasqual Valley. Their weekends are always busy with events and live music. The winery is very pet and kid friendly with a laid back vibe. The hayride tour through the vineyards and groves accompanied by live entertainment and unlimited pours (oh yes!) is a huge crowd pleaser, i can't recommend it enough ! Came here for a Yelp event and had a great time. They had nice seating outside and live music. A lot of free wine to try (with unlimited refills as well) and good food. Tried two of the white wines and they were delicious. Husband had to full glasses of wine and some frose and he felt a good buzz. I'm not even a wine person, but I actually like the taste of these two wines. The beefier is so fresh and authentic. Freshly grilled burgers were top notch. Loaded nachos (same beef from grass-fed cattle from their own farms) were unbelievable! I actually didn't know I would like loaded nachos so much! Hot dogs was lovely as well, Bavarian pretzel with cheese sauce (same cheese sauce that was on the loaded nachos) and veggie burger were all nice. They had a the hayride for the guests around the ranch (Only around part of the ranch because the entire property is over 23 acres) and they had free wine on that as well. They do this hayrides on the weekends as well and all guests at that time get free wine. Owner was on the ride and he told us about the farm and it has some really amazing history. Turns out it's the oldest business in the San Diego county and quite large as well. Learned a good deal about the importance of cows that are pasture raised and grass-fed and given no antibiotics and what not. Lemme just start off by staying, I never eat hot dogs but the beef hot dogs here made me like hot dogs. We got to try all their food offerings except the veggie burger, this included the cheeseburger, beef dog, nachos and Bavarian pretzel. All the beef is produced on their site and the cows are all grass fed. I was surprised by the quality of the meat and very much enjoyed their ground beef & of course, the beef hot dog. They sell steaks & other assortments of meat in variety boxes however the worked mentioned their beef sells out quite frequently. Anyways, wine is good, easy to drink. I enjoyed the 4 wines we tried but my 2 favorites are the Roussane (white) and a colonnade (red). They brought their little one who had fun playing with other kids in the bounce house/ waterslide that was set up on the lawn. Had an amazing day here during the vendor event. There was a great selection of vendors. I live supporting local businesses, so with over 70 vendors, I was in heaven. Besides, there was a raffle, and each time you purchased, you got another entry to the raffle, which I felt was a great way to promote supporting our local small businesses. There was only one food option, which was a bit pricy but delicious. The fact that you can bring your own food is a huge plus. Dogs were everywhere, which is always a joy. Plus there was a senior dog rescue and I wish I could take all of them home. This was the highlight of my day. There was a free photo booth that was super fun to experiment with. Kids had bounce houses, face painting, and a bunch of other activity options. There was a hay ride which is just so much fun with the personal musician, wine, and meat samples. A band playing in the main area. And just positive vibes all around. Obviously, wine is an option as well. If you get the flight, you keep the glass. What a great souvenir. We had such an amazing afternoon here! It was very family friendly which made it enjoyable for the parents to be able to sit and talk and enjoy a glass of wine. There was a bounce house, lawn games, a hay ride, and a water slide bounce house. There was so much attention to detail for the kids- they were spraying the lawn for bees by the water slide and there were towels. On top of that, you can bring your own food in (but the soft pretzels looked tasty). We had the rose and a white wine and enjoyed both. We will most certainly be back! read more
