I ended up getting an Asian style bowl with GF egg rolls, which was a great break from the other type of food we had been eating. The sauce was super flavorful, the meat was tender and the veggies were cooked perfectly. I also loved the egg rolls. They were nice and crispy and had a rice vinegar dipping sauce which tasted amazing. My friend and my husband each got a sweet crepe and a savory crepe. The crepes were also very good, but we all agreed the sweet one was the best. Definitely worth grabbing a bite here.

Biosphère Café is currently open on reduced opening hours, which is generally between 11:30 in the morning and 3:10 to 4 pm during the week. They're closed on weekends. The whole menu is gluten-free which really excited me, they do al-dente style pasta alongside pizzas and a Croque Madame, which was what I came in for having been eager to try a gluten-free version during my time in France. While the food is good value, I do think drinks are a little expensive and the selection of drinks also is a little poor, they seemed to mainly do standard soda and blended smoothie/juices, they didn't seem to have something simple like just orange juice or iced tea, I opted for a mix of what included cucumber, and I didn't enjoy it. It seemed to curdle very quickly and was an expensive disaster. The food, on the other hand, was a totally different story - my Croque Madame was one of the best single food items I've had in Paris, the bread held together very well and was naturally crusty and some of the best gluten-free bread I've had, this is someone who is exhausted most gluten-free bread as I generally find them dry, tasteless and disgusting, propped up by chewy seeds but here - none of that. Seedless bread is always a winner for me. The ham was also exceptional quality, the egg was almost cooked perfectly and I would have liked it ever so slightly runnier, the cheese was also good and I like how they didn't overfill it with cheese which again seems to be common. Some people think to overload toppings removes the taste and makes gluten-free bread edible, but the bread is so good here it doesn't need that. It's just quality on quality. I did, however, find the lettuce side a little odd and would have preferred some form of potatoes or fries, that being said the honey and mustard dipping sauce was pretty good too, it was obviously fresh. My crepe was okay, I would have liked more generous filling as the caramel sauce was hot but that didn't taste fresh or anything too exciting. I didn't like the cafe inside, I did find it really small even the kitchen area seemed small, tables were far close to each other and it could have done with some fresh paintwork. 3* - The Croque Madame alone knocks this rating up alongside the friendly and helpful staff, it was so good, it's a shame about most other parts of the experience weren't.

Fou isn't a large space, really only enough for a queue to form and the staff to stand behind the counter. Unlike a traditional pâtisserie, there is no baking done on premises here. Instead, they import bakes from other pâtisseries and pastry chefs and sell them here. They had a good selection, with each having a label that tells where it came from and/or who the pasty chef was that created it. We decided on three pastries and a slice of cake - they were running a special where if we ordered three bakes then we could get a fourth for a discount. Each of the bakes were quite good - my favorite was the lemon which had great flavor while also being intricately decorated. Overall though, all our selections were high quality. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good experience at Fou de Pâtisserie. It's a great option to get Paris' "greatest hits" from all over the city.

All the gorgeous pastries have signage indicating the maker of the treat. I visited this location as well as the location within the BHV on Rue Rivoli while I was in Paris. They both offered a lovely selection of treats! The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). It's a tad hard to find as "Helmut Newcake" is on a sandwich board outside of a bakery with a different name. Look for the purple awning! The bakery is 100% gluten-free. It's so fun to have a selection! We got a strawberry and a passion fruit tart that I may think about for the rest of my life. The balance of butter and tart was amazing! We got to talk to the owner for a few minutes and he told us the story and explained that the idea is that the pastries taste like regular desserts! Mission accomplished. I visited with my non-GF friend and she loved these desserts as much as I did! Highly recommend!

It's a very simple and clean shop. The opera cake had a lot of depth of many flavors with chocolate and hints of coffee. The mango tart was not to sweet and had perfect ratios of cream to fruit and tart shell. Definitely keeping this spot to go back to try more often the next time I'm near the Louvre.

Gluten free bread will never be as delicious as regular, but they do a pretty good job. It does need some butter or jam to combat the dryness that gluten free breads tend to have. I was really thrilled to have baguettes to eat! Go early because they often sell out of the favorites by the end of the day. This is a can't miss bakery for those can't consume gluten.
