But it turns out, after a bit of calling around for other quotes, the Auto Check price was about $320 higher than other shops for the identical tires. In other words, they were prepared to gouge her for tires they clearly knew were way overpriced. To me, that kind of business practice stinks.

I was there today, as well as on another occasion some years ago. Both times they fixed a simple light vehicle flat for free (along with providing helpful advice). They saved me money over my Nissan dealer, who wanted to sell me two new tires! No such sales tactics from Kal Tire. They don't know me, nor do they owe me any favours. Both times, their service was excellent. I can recommend them with bonus points for attitude.

In the meantime they put spare on and put damaged tire in trunk. the next day my wife took her car to this Kal Tire and they looked at the tire and said no problem, apparently it was just a small hole. They repaired it FOR FREE. So my wife cancelled the tire that Costco ordered in. And prior to this, my wife took her previous car in (which we bought used and was a nightmare, everything was leaking including the tires), and again this Kal Tire repaired her tires and I can't recall how much they charged but it was very, very cheap. These guys have helped my wife (soon to be ex-wife - ouch) each time and have gone above and beyond. I never thought much of this place when driving past it. I think they are beside a taxi lot, so lots of cars everywhere. Not the most inviting appearance. But next time I need tires I'm definitely going to them first as I felt over charged at Fountain tire.

just want to give a shout out to the team here at Arrowsmith bikes shop Nanaimo, I bought and…read moremountain ebike off them last year on my 65th born day as i wanted to start rideing again in the forest, not knowing anything about them walked into the shop and was greeted with a big smile and was given the utmost respect right from the start, They took the time to walk me threw all sorts of different pay grades of bike and gave me the understanding of the differences, they never once tried to push me toward a more expensive option, I went with the treck rail, and all i can say is (o my God) what fun. They gave me a full year with free tune ups and any time I came in they have gone out of there way to help me with all things, since my year ran out in march of this year I have had to bring my bike in a few times with some small problems, and they have fixed it right there on the spot, they let me watch so I can learn how to do, which is awesome, today I brought my bike in as I was missing a small screw in my gear changer, and they took my bike to the back and 10 min later back out with screw in and also tightened up and tweaked some small things that I didn't even see, I asked what do I ow you for that, and all i got was a big smile and have a good ride don't worry about it.
