Fast forward months later, I see that there's a lab claim on my insurance for $1,500+ and that it's my full responsibility. How can this be, if I went to in-service medical provider? Well, apparently this provider only uses one lab called bio-reference lab unless explicitly expressed by the patient to use another. This is the most backwards ass thing I have ever experienced. How can you as a provider not do your due diligence to see where my lab work needs to go? Why is that my responsibility. Why wait for some nonsense like this to happen, when you could tackle the issue on the front end? Now there's a huge possibility that I have to pay this large bill for SIMPLE LAB work because office assistants don't want to go the extra mile to check. It's disgusting as hell and I know this issue is a massive problem within the American Healthcare itself. Providers need to do better. I'm a 23 year old woman that is new to the healthcare insurance enrollment period (that typically occurs in September/October) so if you refer back to my date of service you could see that this is months into using my new insurance after being on my parents. Why must people advocate for themselves when providers should be doing their damn jobs to make sure things like this don't happen. I had one of the office assistants tell me that they don't check the specific labs that will accept a patients lab work. WELL, I'm requiring and urging you all to implement better practices within your office. There's no way WORKING PEOPLE should be stressed about paying medical bills due to your error and lack of care. I pray I am able to beat this, and that nobody comes after me later down the road. I was in labor 17 hours and only dilated to 1cm. When I went in to see my doctor at 6 weeks pregnant they told me I would need another c section. That's when I decided to go to Centreville OBGYN. From the minute I met Chloe I felt safe. She was honest, open, answered my questions and calmed my fears. When I started to question having a vbac, she talked me through those concerns. Never once did I feel pressured or alone. She loves her vbac mommas and it shows. My vbac was such a calm and beautiful experience. It was amazing to have Chloe's support and guidance. I fully trusted her and it allowed me to relax and allow my body to progress naturally. After my vbac, I suffered from severe postpartum migraines. Chloe was there to help support me, research treatments, and even called my neurologist to push to have me seen sooner. She went above and beyond to ensure I was healthy. I am so thankful that I met Chloe and there is no one else I would want to have been by my side.

She scolded me for venturing out of the room to look for someone and then when she finally saw me was pretty condescending and dismissive of some concerns I had. I gathered she had to attend to an emergency right before my appointment, so as a human I can appreciate that may have been an exceptionally difficult day for her, but as a patient that doesn't make what I experience ok. I wish that would have been handled differently, even if I were just offered the chance to reschedule. Next year, I determined to schedule with someone else and was seen by Erica Lybarger. I really liked her bedside manner and found her friendly and engaging. I really appreciate her gentle approach and how dedicated she is towards helping patients manage any pain. This year I saw her again and still enjoyed meeting with her. However, after our review of some birth control methods, I went home and researched the options we discussed and found out she had misconstrued some of the side effects, avoided mentioning some risks, and left out one significant valid option. Reading both legitimate medical pages on these options as well as other patients' experiences with side effects made me uncertain I could trust the information she provides and I decided to seek a different provider based on my GP's recommendation. Ultimately, I think a patient could still have a good experience with this practice and even with both the providers I am reviewing. They don't remember anything from prior visits, there's barely any follow-through & everything feels rushed & impersonal. Now, they've added insult to injury by announcing that they're going to start charging patients for basic services--things we can't even do ourselves. Even something as simple as a prescription refill feels like you're bothering the nurse or PA. It's crystal clear: they don't care about patient well-being anymore, they just care about squeezing more money out of you. And to top it all off, they had the nerve to send out this email announcing the new fees--while shamelessly promoting their extra services at the bottom. As if we'd want to pay for even more after being told we'll now be charged for the basics. The lack of self-awareness is shocking. I even went back & removed the 5-star review I once left. I had called and asked for prenatal care for a pregnancy and was told okay to come in. Instead they charged it as a diagnostic, not as prenatal care then proceed to tell me afterward they don't code insurance for prenatal because they don't don prenatal care and then charge a few hundred dollars. Why on earth allow the patient to think they are coming for prenatal care when they don't offer it. It's an absolute scam on their end and their office should be flagged for that. Their doctors are fine, but beware of all the billing issues and surprises. Unethical coding practices.
