We sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes. The place was packed on a Sunday night. Into the exam room, they worked in cleaning the blood off the face and hair. Determined that it would require stiches over staples. Another 40 minutes waiting in the exam room. Stiches completed and released with a print out of follow up and when to return to remove the stiches. It was a long wait, but better than going to a ER at a hospital.

I was given a faulty streptococcal test and informed that it was "highly accurate". After calling back with more strange symptoms, the provider stated that it was unrelated to the first illness and that he could not assist me any further. He referred me to an urgent care, where I tested positive for strep throat, as I should have two weeks earlier. Normally, the physicians treat me for the obvious symptoms, regardless of diagnosis. This should always be the case.

The waiting room seems cramped and dark, but has ample seating. Since I had new patient paperwork to fill out, my 25-minute wait didn't seem so long. (Despite the detailed info I gave on that initial form, I was asked about my medical history by the nurse and by Dr. Okoro afterward, leading me to believe that they barely glanced at my chart.) The nursing staff are pleasant and personable, and eager to make brief small talk to make their patients' visit more tolerable. Dr. Okoro himself is a quirky character with an accent that is sometimes hard to follow; between my husband and myself, though, we managed to understand everything we needed to know. Dr. Okoro does seem to know his business, although it's unusual and just a little disconcerting to hear the doctor talking aloud to himself while deciding on a prescription: "You'll probably need an antibiotic... but which one?" Overall, I was satisfied with the level of service I received from Dr. Okoro and his staff. Next time I have a non-life-threatening medical issue to address, I will most likely go back to Airport Urgent Care.

My son in law Jose went there today with…read moremultiple hornet stings (roughly 7-8) that were affecting his breathing - he had intense swelling on his face, cheeks, lips and chest tightness. He was told to take a seat and sit in the lobby. He said ok but I really think I need to get back there I'm not doing well. They told him to wait. They finally brought him back after about 5 minutes as he started getting shivers and sweating profusely. The nurses behavior after that point was unacceptable. She treated him like he was a nuisance and kept rolling her eyes and sighing like he was disputing her day. He was uncomfortable and felt unsafe in her care. When she hooked him up to the monitor he asked if she could hand him his phone because he needed to contact his fiancé and the nurse responded "no you don't need it you can use it later" and again rolled her eyes at him. She ended up leaving the room (and still wouldnt hand him his phone) and he started getting nauseated and dizzy with chest tightness increasing and so he rushed to the door to get help and the same nurse yelled at him - he told her how he was feeling dizzy and having chest tightness and she again rolled her eyes and told him to go back in the room and someone would be there in a minute. Her poor attitude and obvious hatred of her job is problematic. As a nurse, I'm disgusted at her behavior. We are filing a formal complaint.

Also, it seems the phone is only answered at the convenience of whoever is supposed to be answering them. I had a truly awful experience trying to reach someone there today. I called about 8:10 and got the recorded message that says the office is open 8-5 on Monday and that I should call back during regular business hours. I called back about 10 minutes later and got the same message, during what was supposed to be "regular business hours". This is not the first time I've had this experience with them. Then I used my break at work to call again about 10:30, and was on hold for about 5 minutes before someone answer and said, "I'm with a patient, can you hold?" (isn't that what I'd been doing?), and was put back on hold. Two minutes later, I was hung up on. I called back and again was on hold for about seven minutes, when the same woman picked up the phone and said, "I'm with a patient, can you hold?". I told her no, I've already been holding for over 10 minutes and was hung up on once, and I don't want to hold any longer. She responded that she was with a patient and again asked me to hold. Again, I said no. She repeated, "I'm with a patient and I have several calls ahead of yours", to which I responded, "Then why did you pick up the phone?" and she put me back on hold. I held for seven or eight minutes longer and nobody ever came back to the phone. Finally I had to hang up. I called again about an hour later, and finally got through to someone. I explained that I was calling to check on a prescription refill, which was another debacle. It used to be, you could call this office and they would phone in a prescription for you. Now, you have to call the pharmacy yourself and ask them to send in a refill request. My request was received yesterday, however, apparently nobody had time to review it. I asked how long it would take and was told that the person who would approve the request is out today. I asked if someone else could approve and was told no. I am disgusted and will be looking for a new doctor's office with better service.
