At first, I thought the makeup looked nice, but once I had more time to look at it, I realized my eyes appeared much smaller and the overall look made me seem older than I am. Before the appointment, they asked me to send a reference photo of the style I wanted. I did, and they upgraded the package I had originally selected. However, it seemed like no one ever looked at the photo, because neither the makeup artist nor the hairstylist mentioned it or asked about it during the appointment. The makeup in my reference photo featured light colors, but the artist immediately started using much darker tones, even though I was already wearing my dress, which was not dark and would have paired better with a lighter look. As for my hair, the back looked beautiful. However, despite showing a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, the front initially looked nothing like the reference and, honestly, looked quite bad. Fortunately, some adjustments were made later, but I was disappointed that my preferences did not seem to be considered from the beginning.

Your skin looks like your skin, just better. For make up, I've requested twice (from two different artists) "a natural, me - just better, look," and also a soft glam warm smokey eye - all of which were PERFECT! I did not have to touch up through out the day. All I did was either add more moisturizing spray or UD's All Nighter Spray. Note: If you want airbrush, request it beforehand when you make your reservation. An added plus is that these artists have RANGE! I'm in my 30s but I've seen ladies with mature skin (50+), Gen Z, I mean the skin types ran the gamut and all of the ladies that walked out of there looked beautiful AF. Not to mention the different hair types and requests that they knocked out of the park. The girl that did my hair (twice) was confident and knew exactly what to do even with a brief description or photo. Her confidence gave me confidence knowing she knew her sh*t. Unfortunately, I can't recall the names of the two lovely artists who worked with us that day, but I personally was very happy with both my makeup and hair. They stayed very close to the inspiration images I shared, which was extremely important to me, and I felt confident and beautiful on such a special day. Our group had a mix of services, some bridesmaids booked makeup only, a couple booked hair only, and about three of us had both services done. To be completely honest, not everyone in the group loved their final look. A few of the girls weren't thrilled with their makeup, and a couple felt the same about their hair. That said, in the artists' defense, the bridesmaids didn't feel comfortable speaking up at the time, and instead made small adjustments themselves afterward. I don't believe this reflects a lack of skill, but rather the importance of clearly communicating preferences in the moment. Despite that, I would still recommend Pin Me Up. Their work is professional, polished, and their pricing can be considered on the higher side felt worth it to me for wedding-day services. One piece of advice: I would skip the $75 consultation call. It lasted under 15 minutes and mainly covered who would be present on the wedding day. I didn't find it particularly helpful and would suggest using that money toward something else instead. Overall, if you're clear about what you want and comfortable advocating for adjustments, Pin Me Up delivers quality wedding hair and makeup services and helped me feel great on one of the most important days of my life.
