[In one sentence] Bad customer service ruins everything. Have not communicated with Victor yet, just stopped in the middle of an order because of the inappropriate attitude I receive from customer serice, Nathan Bezeytin. I hope other clients have better luck and dont talk to him. First of all, I personally really appreciate Victor Canera's professional skill, the rings he made looks subtle and beautiful, and that is why I want to customize my ring here. However, Nathan's customer service really makes me feel uncomfortable. [1] Nathan is not professional. He did not fit or try to fit customers' need. At first, I said I would like colorless diamond, he recommend a G color to me. After I clarify my need to him, he indeed send me another option. However, the next day, i asked for more options, he challenged me why I need more options and why I want larger table of a diamond (although it should be my own preference). I explained and he indeed gave me some more choices. But he still recommending the one he showed me yesterday for "its perfect ASET" according to him. I am not even be able to see the ASET on my end, and ask and realise he was talking about the first G color diamond... (I do not look down on G color, and I respect different peole's choice, but when I customize my ring, it is my own choice.) So I do not feel my own preference is being respected by Nathan at first. [2] As a client, I do not feel being respected by Nathan. I do not feel that my questions have been directly answered by him for most of the time. When I asked about payment method, and asked could i use credit card as I have cash back. Usually the answer should be simply yes or no, and then with more explanation. while Nathan replies "There will be 3% processing charge, i am not sure you can have 3% cash back". It is not your business to know how much my bank pay me. Please at least have some boundary and be respectful. The reason why I still talked with Nathan and did not give up is because I still trust Victor and believe he is professional. With the hope to get a beautiful ring, I choose to proceed and want to order a diamond. As I was waiting my bank to transfer from one of my account to another, I just look up online and accidently saw the same diamond on other online wholesale website. The price there was cheaper! So I just go back and aksed Nathan whether I can do price match. Again, the answer should be simply yes or no, while our lovely Nathen amazed me again. He asked where I saw it, I sent him the link, then i feel being humiliated by him as he said we dont fit, he recommened me to buy from that website or go to Harry Winston. Why directly answering clients' question is so hard? Why put your own judgement while you are the client service? Also, I am fine if you do not do price match as the given price is reasonable to me, but why a try of asking would result in being humiliated? [3]. While Nathan himself is not professional enough to be a client service, he does not give others benefit of doubt. There are many times that I receive really blured pictures. I understand that they cannot provide us with exact GIA number, and I never asked for it (I was angry and wrote "I keep asking GIA number" in the chat, but actually I had never). I always ask for clearer screenshot of the GIA report to see the imperfecfion of the diamond. Also, they only are willing to privide the whole GIA report before shipping. As an international buyer, I did not feel safe and asked Nathan for more clear electronic version of the GIA report for my own record just in case. I tried so hard and ask for multiple times, feelling like begging. I am glad he finally gave that to me, even without the specific GIA number, which I am fine and I understand. However, when I ask for price match later, he said " Ah, thats why you keep asking GIA number". I feel not being given benefit of doubt and REALLY HARD to communicate with him. Nearly for every request, I feel being judged and need to eplain and justify myself to get the service. Nathan's attitude also makes me feel tired and becomes less confident/excited about customizing my ring here. That should NOT be a client's normal experience. I wanted a pair of classic diamond studs that I could wear casually or dress up. I had a pair from a long time ago with stock martini 3 prong setting but wanted something that was still low set and didn't dig into my ear. Friends recommended Victor and his team to custom make a pair of earrings for me. I had a long conversation with him about his H&A branded stones (AGS certified), super low set setting with six claw prongs and large backs in platinum. I had a certain size stone in mind and he had only one in stock and needed to wait for a similar matching one. Then he found rough that he cut just for me. Who doesn't want a stone cut just for them?! Another issue for me is that I'm superstitious about the number 4 (being Chinese this is important) and he said he had other clients that were concerned about this and offered to recut one of the stones so it won't have a 4 in it. He delivered beautiful earrings that are fireballs! His hand fabricated setting is amazing. I love the delicate claw prongs. I've gotten so many compliments on them and have worn them pretty much every time I go out. Victor was a pleasure to deal with, on the phone and in emails. He helped me find my perfect pair of studs. There are many lies in the message below. For example, there were no calls returned within your promised timeframe. There were no "constant calls" and I called only once a day to follow up. Leaving people hanging in the middle of discussing about next steps after sending the quote equates to treating people without respect. Victor was very kind to help reset my stone in one of his gorgeous settings (the Julia with no pave). Nicholas and Nathan were very helpful over livechat and provided detailed instructions on how to mail in the stone and complete the work order. They also messaged me immediately when the stone arrived safely. I tracked the progress of the work order through their site, and received the new ring in hand exactly a month via overnight FedEx (the ETA was 6 weeks). Victor Canera is to diamond halos what Lamborghini is to automobiles. As I gawk at my beautiful Emilya double-halo cushion setting, I can't help but wonder what it must feel like as an artisanal jeweler to be compared to the likes of Harry Winston. Is it a compliment? Or would an artist prefer to have his masterpieces stand on their own merits? Just as Ford (in the U.S.) and Benz (in Europe) are arguably the first to invent the automobile, would anyone classify a Lamborghini as "just" a car? Absolutely not. While I have often read that Canera's Emilya setting is a perfection of Winston's "The One" setting, I see Canera's Emilya as not only his magnum opus, but a jewel that is a perfect blend of an artist's expertise, eye for detail, and exceptional craftsmanship. Moreover, his customer service and speed of communication are rare qualities not often found today. Nicholas, the Marketing Manger, has to be commended here. I read plenty of Pricescope threads trying to determine what setting I wanted for my diamond, and this is how I found Victor. It took me several more months to decide on which style I wanted, when I finally decided on the Emilya double-row cushion halo for a round center stone. After receiving my online quote, I shipped my diamond to Victor (I live in the Bay Area). Mind you, the majority of my communication was done via email, quite unusual for me, as I tend to be a control freak when it comes to details. I was not in the least worried that my diamond was in good hands, and I completely trusted Victor in making the best Emilya to his eye, for my stone. I didn't ask how long it would take, I had no special requests... simply, complete faith and confidence in Victor's reputation. Three weeks later (to the day), my ring was delivered via FedEx, just in time for Valentine's Day and four years after my fiancé first proposed. My diamond has found its forever halo. Though this review may seem contrary, I am speechless. My 2 carat modern round brilliant is surrounded by the most exquisite halo, with workmanship that is far superior to ANY setting I have ever laid eyes on. This includes 4 years of searching and having worked in the fine jewelry and watch business myself. The pavé is so fine, pictures cannot do the ring justice. It is something that has to be seen to be believed. Victor cannot be compared to Harry Winston or any other well known name. Let's face it, anything that has a "name" attached to it, is inherently mass produced. Nothing mass produced can ever show the love and care an artist puts into his work.
