    Huckleberry shake
    Jenny G.

Victor is a little rown in Idaho. We stayed in Victor for 2 nights as we were visiting the Grand Teton National Park. As we were leaving town, we notice this cute place advertising homemade soda and shakes. It was in Friday morning and have not had breakfast yet, we decided to get their Huckleberry shake and we were hooked. It was milked likely sweet and sour from the Huckleberry. No artificial flavoring. The milk was so unique. We bought one and went back to get another for the kids. After our trip back, passing by Victor, we bought another one. 3 shakes in one day. We just can't pur last chance pass as by. Very cute shop with a large selections and decent priced souvenirs of the Tetons valley and Yellowstone. We wanted some moose socks so found two cute ones and a headband that I been looking for. All very affordable. Young kids and the owner there were very nice and welcoming. If you are in Victor for any reason, make a quick stop and you would not waste your time. This is a gem that everyone should know about. We will remember this shake for a long time!

Huckleberry shake with actual Huckleberry pieces! So good!

We stopped by Victor Emporium after reading reviews on a forum of where to get huckleberry shakes when visiting the Tetons areas. Since we were going to be driving through this area, we decided to make a stop. It was a weekday afternoon, so it was not very busy. We got the huckleberry shake and enjoyed it thoroughly! I'm glad that the shake had actual pieces of the huckleberries rather than just flavoring. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

We were told by our local friends that we could get the BEST huckleberry milkshake at Victor Emporium, so of course Nate and I had to check it out after an early dinner in the area. Huckleberries grow wild in mountainous areas, and you can find a huckleberry flavored something at most restaurants and gift shops in Idaho and Wyoming. Since we don't have them where we live, it's always fun to enjoy them while in this area visiting. The shop itself is chock full of gifts, souvenirs, and other fun stuff to look at while your order is made. Once you get your treat, you pay for it at the counter a few steps down in the main shop area. There are a couple tables outside and a bench so you can enjoy your milkshake or sundae on site. At $10, it wasn't cheap, but the milkshake was really tasty. I'm glad we got to try it. I'm seeing now that you can also get a huckleberry Oreo shake, which I would love to try sometime. Victor Emporium is a nice little spot to browse and get dessert while in the area.

This is a destination place in a small town. The angle parking on the street is unique as you are required to back in. It's opposite of what people are used to, but I love the idea. If you have a hard time backing then park on the side street and walk!

Wonderful store with all kinds of souvenirs and a friendly, helpful staff. They are known for their huckleberry milkshakes, so we drove an hour to try them...we were not disappointed!! I got the huckleberry and my husband got the huckleberry mixed with Oreos - SO good and well worth the beautiful drive!!

A great gift shop and masterful milkshakery in Victor, ID. This town has a something special in this shop which host a fun array of thoughtful and prank gifts and souvenirs and is best-know as the home of the Huckleberry Shake! We enjoyed a shake on more than one occasion during our week-long stay in Victor. This was the first time - in a long time - that I found myself thinking a shop could have cut back on their toppings/mixing a bit but was so pleased to really get a good and thorough taste of those special Huckleberries. For us, the Oreo Huckleberry shake was just right as it balanced out some of the tartness of the huckleberries a bit! Visiting this shop three times in one week is certainly a seal of approval from us!

What they call a child size, everyone else in the world calls a single. Their single....has two scoops. I had to double check but the girl assured me that was the right size. I'd be scared to see what a triple would be at this place. They have to serve it in a small bucket! They've even got a few ice cream themed books for the kiddies to read on the hearth. Stories about the history and manufacture of this festive, frozen finery. So go. Dig into some inappropriately inexpensive ice cream and go learn something! But do it fast before they smarten up and raise the prices. 2013 #143 / 365

She came from across the counter to make sure we were charged $.25 for the extra bowl. Then, our friends little girl was handed her ice cream which immediately fell off the cone because it wasn't pressed down into the cone. The manager literally watched a 5 year old girl's ice cream fall off the the cone, turned her mom and said "I'll have to charge you for another one". This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks…read more We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again!

However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different.
