Persephone absolutely lives up to the hype. The bakery is beautiful inside and has such a charming European feel. It's one of those places where you immediately want to order one of everything. We tried a few pastries along with the quiche, and everything was excellent. The Kouign Amann was buttery, flaky, and beautifully made, while the quiche was decadent without feeling heavy. The flavors in the quiche were amazing and the crust was perfect. Definitely one of the best quiches I've had. The breakfast sandwich was also an amazing savory item on the menu, it was served on their croissants so you get the best of both worlds. It does get busy, especially in the mornings, but it's worth the wait. The line moves fast and there's plenty of seating on their lovely patio. This bakery is so cute and right in the middle of Jackson hole. There was a line out the door when we arrived but it moved fast. I ordered an almond croissant and it looked delicious but it was just okay in my opinion. It was a little dense for a croissant. They make everything fresh daily so they won't warm any of the pastries for you which is a little disappointing because I think some baked goods are better served warm. I'd read about Persephone before our trip and marked it as a "must try" while in Jackson Hole. We walked over early (8am) on a Thursday morning to grab a cup of coffee and peruse the pastries. We were very surprised to find the line already went out the door! The line moved fast and boy you better be ready to order when you step up, because it is a fast moving, no messing around system. In addition there were at least three employees taking orders at the counter so the pastry case is extremely crowded and it's difficult to view what the options are. The employees weren't un-kind, but they there were no niceties like "good morning". They wanted to move you through the line quickly, so we didn't feel we could really peruse the pastries and so we skipped it and we just ordered a hot coffee and a large hot almond milk latte. People were already more than crowded inside waiting for their items so we stepped onto the patio. It was a chilly morning so the small fire pit was welcomed. For the giant crowd waiting we received our drinks within a reasonable time frame. They call names from inside behind the counter, so if you are not within 4 feet of the counter you will not hear them. We sat on the patio near the garden and the view was beautiful. My "large" latte was the same small size of my husband's drip coffee and both appeared to be around 12-14oz. Disappointing. The drip coffee was okay, but not worth returning for and my almond milk latte was also just okay. We maybe would have given Persephone another try, but in the end we chose to try the many other coffee/bakery shops in downtown. I'm not saying 'stay away', I'm just saying it's not as amazing as the hype. My group pulled up around 8 am on a Friday in mid July, and there was a line out the door. I knew this place was popular, so I wasn't too surprised. The line moved pretty quickly and gave us an opportunity to check out the menu. I was happy to see they had a fridge of beverages including Diet Coke. My husband got the egg sandwich and really likes it. I got a chocolate croissant and it was okay. I had asked for it warmed up and the girl said they make them fresh. This being her response had me under the impression that it would be fresh and warm, but the croissant wasn't warm at all and the chocolate had already harden. It was still good just not the experience I was looking for. Overall, I would go back for sure and probably order something from the kitchen next time. It's a cute little building with very photogenic food, but it feels like its success is due to its Instagram-appeal as opposed to the quality of the food. Persephone Bakery is a cute stand alone building just off the main square in Jackson, WY. We stopped in this small quaint space with many happy patrons enjoying their morning sweets. Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I absolutely LOVE this place!! I saw it listed on several "places you have to try" online lists in Jackson hole. I love a bakery/sweet treats and a good coffee. This place has it all -- the drinks were fabulous, as were the pastries. They made me a tea latte fog-style, and I tried the Dubai chocolate latte - both so, SO good. The mixed berry frangipane tarte also changed my views on tartes forever. It was so good I bought two. They are pretty big and it's a lot of sugar so you can't come here too often but the next time I come to Jackson hole I will definitely still be coming for a drink and a treat! They have real food too - the croque madame was the best I've had, loved the flavors. The inside is super cute too and they have a lovely patio with heaters for the colder weather. The staff are all very sweet too, and move fast despite the place always being super busy and there being a line. You definitely don't feel forgotten despite all the business which is impressive. Let me start off with the ambience, the bakery is very cute and inviting. If you sit outside during the cold, there are blankets you can use. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have some heaters throughout the outdoor seating. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and it was delicious. My husband ordered the bacon and eggs. It was good but not a lot of food for the price. He ordered Americano and it was weak in taste. I ordered a tea. It came in a large tea pot, but only had one tea bag in it and therefore had little flavor. I would much rather have a cup of tea with one bag. Overall the food was very good, but a little on the pricey side for what you got. We don't have a problem paying for a good breakfast as long as the portions are reasonable. The service was great. The place is nice inside but again small. Wife got the ham and egg sandwich on a croissant and I got the eggs and bacon. I also got an Americano and wife got tea. Friends also got the same as ours. The bacon and eggs were good but I mean it's bacon and eggs. Very small portion size especially for the price. Oh it did have toast but no potatoes or fruit. Was excited for the pastries, their window casing was full of amazing looking stuff! (I later learned... that if the casing is full -- this might mean two things? It's either not very good. Or it's not very fresh.) We got the cheddar scallion biscuit & blueberry muffin. They were both DRY and taste-less.. it's hard to mess up a Blueberry muffin! The muffin was not sweet, even with the crumble on top.. didn't taste like blueberries, it was just plain. The biscuit was hard as a rock, and was also dry.. you could barely taste the cheese. This is a very cute bakery and coffee shop. We got there late morning so they didn't have as many pastries as they probably did earlier. My husband and I shared a chocolate croissant and an apple pastry, and got coffee to go with us (mocha and breve). The pastry dough tasted devine-buttery sweet. I cut each pastry in half and was a little dismayed to see so little chocolate in the chocolate croissant (see my photo). We liked the apple one better. So good! The mocha had a weird taste (almost like Mexican vanilla but I'm not sure what it actually was) and the breve was respectable but as I write this 2 days later it isn't memorable. Be advised, there is not a ton of indoor seating but they do have a patio that is a great escape if the weather is just right. There is usually a line out the door, but I am glad I waited it out. The cute little concerted house is much better than any chain coffee you may be used to. The service is good and while my blueberry muffin did not hit the spot, the special I ordered which had egg, Jake and a sweet potato has sure did. This was delicious bowl of goodness and while I don't think it is on the website menu, I am glad I tried it. The muffin just wasn't a traditional moose and sweet treat. Maybe I got a dud. Thankfully it moved quickly and we were able to not only order at the counter but also find a couple of seats soon after. We got the caramel apple croissant (looks more like a tart), an iced pumpkin spice latte, the smoked salmon bowl, and the ricotta omelette. Loved the salmon bowl - great flavors, portions, though expensive. The omelette was bland and it felt like the ingredients didn't go well together. The latte was tasty (couldn't taste the pumpkin though) and the croissant was good too. They kept the bakery quite chilly, so much so that the butter on my omelette solidified midway! I'd say this is a fine bakery to visit but I would be ok skipping it if there's a loooong line! read more

The food is excellent. It is just SO overpriced. Even for Jackson. I got two egg sandwiches and 1 coffee and it was $45 with a minimal tip. The sandwiches were very good. They were perfectly wrapped in branded paper and closed with branded tape. Nothing else came with them. I ordered a latte with honey and they pointed me to the condiment table. I said, well, how about simple syrup? They pointed me to the table. For the prices they charge, make the entire coffee for me. And, for what it's worth, you can't put honey into a hot drink and have it dissolve easily by itself. Coffee places that offer it have a warm or diluted honey that can easily blends into drinks. I mean, go here. You will love it. Everything is great. I hear the tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich is just perfect. I just couldn't get past the cost but I know many people in this town don't mind. If you have people in your party with a big appetite, send them two blocks down to D.O.G. for a grab and go breakfast burrito that is chock full of flavor and goodness for $12. read more

I had the quiche lorraine both times, hubby had their basic breakfast--yummy slightly spicy sausage. If you buy the fantastic strawberry rhubarb jelly, make sure to check it as TSA will confiscate it. Service was great and fast. Best oat milk caramel /vanilla lattes in the area. The patio has additional seats but it was raining that morning. Got here at around 7:30 AM. Line was short and moved quickly but a few minutes after, more people came. We did not wait that long for food to be served. The food was delicious. Yogurt and granola was the perfect kind of sweet with berries. Brioche French toast was also awesome. It had delicious brioche, stone fruit and pistachios with mascarpone cream and cinnamon sugar. Seeded avocado bowl was soo good too - fresh yet savory. Their cookies are huge. We came for breakfast after some sunrise photos and got a small table inside. We all got some coffees which had some great latte art. The largest latte size does come in a to go cup as a heads up! For breakfast, I shared the bacon and egg croissant and the french toast. The croissant sandwich was delicious and the french toast was out of this world. My basic breakfast came with toast and strawberry rhubarb jam (soo good) we got some jars to take home!
