Well, since gas stations would NEVER collude on prices, we find that the prices are all the same (except for BP which seems to like to charge more. Guess they still have oil spill related expenses). Well, with prices being the same you need to find a reason to pick on. This place has a pretty cool store set up, food, beverages, snacks, jeans, shirts, hats, boots and other stuff no one would but at a gas station. But isn't it nice to know you can?

It is. I grew up in co-ops and feed stores (the "feed store" is next door) and so I wanted to go in and wander around, maybe pick up a souvenir. The first thing I Noticed is it smelled nothing like I recalled - no wonderful leather tack smell. Maybe because so much is synthetic now. The second thing I noticed, in disappointment, was how expensive everything was. Like, really expensive. I thought, maybe I can get a child's lasso? $50 and the theme of lassoes nowadays, or at least here, seems to be glow-in-the-dark and bright colors for showtime (I guess?). The third thing I noticed was that even though I wandered the ENTIRE STORE, not a single employee said hello to me. What a disappointment in so many ways.

They are much more than just a gas station. They have all the necessities and are basically just a smaller version of a grocery store. They even carry hot deli items such as chicken strips, jojos, corn dogs, burritos, and even fried gizzards. The breading they use is delicious! The staff is friendly and their prices are pretty reasonable for being a small little store. I used the restroom while stopping there yesterday and it was clean, so no complaints there. They have a big parking lot with plenty of grassy areas to let your dog out to do its thing if you are traveling. The store could use a little updating but other than that, it's a great place to stop, gas up, stretch your legs, and stock up on snacks and drinks for the road.

There are two kinds of spots, those with full hookups and those with water and power only. The ones without sewer are down by the river amongst the trees and this is where we stayed, right next to the river. Very relaxing. The site is nicely landscaped and maintained, with plenty of grass and trees dotted around. There is a slipway if you have a small boat. The river can also be fished and the on site general store sells all kinds of fishing gear, as well as many other things, including locally sourced preserves and honey. I bought a jar of the organic salsa and it was so good that I ate it all in one sitting. The store also sells souvenir items and alcoholic beverages, including local Montana brews - so I had to try some - very good! They also sell propane. The staff in the store are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a 'restroom, shower and laundry' block on site - I didn't use the laundry, but the showers are nice, you are provided a code to get in. There are also poop bags provided and doggy waste collection container. The rear area of the site by the river is behind a lift up barrier and you are provided a card to operate this to get in, it automatically lets you out. There are nice views of mountains in the distance and a cycle path all the way to Missoula if you want to go that far... We've certainly enjoyed our stay here so far and would recommend it to anyone.

At about 9:30 PM, I was sitting in my RV when I looked outside and walking up the road, about 20' from us was a HUGE Bull Moose! It stood at least 6' at the shoulder and had the largest rack I have ever seen! From ground to the tip of the rack he was easily at least 10'! I'd say between 600-800 lbs! He casually walked through the camp like he owned the place, walked to the fence and leaped over to the neighbors property. He was BEAUTIFUL! You won't see that in Seattle, Portland, New York, or even Missoula!
