We have a family member who needed assistance from recovering from a major surgery, and thought this establishment would be a good place to transition them back home from being in the hospital. WE WERE SO WRONG. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Recovering from surgery or any medical condition is a profoundly vulnerable time for many patients. It is not uncommon for them to feel down but to deprive them of assistance at an establishment that is meant to look after patients is both unacceptable and frustrating. The staff there was very attentive and always communicated with me. We worked with Priscilla, the social worker who helped find a placement for my father's next place, and she showed so much patience with all the difficulties of handling these decisions. She was quick to respond to concerns and communicated quickly. The nursing staff was extremely helpful and kind to both my parents. My father was emotional when he left because of the sweetness they showed him. The head nurse, Cynthia, always communicated with me, answered my texts, called me directly if my father needed to hear a familiar voice, and a pleasure to communicate with her. This decision to place your loved one in a skilled nursing facility is not an easy one, but when you put them in a place that feels supported and you know they are cared for, it helps ease the anxiety of not having them home with you. The nurses and the caregivers took great care of him. He was always clean and was closely monitored medically. He had some events that required him to be hospitalized and they always welcomed him back after brief stays in the hospital. My family would like to mention a few staff members who went above and beyond what was expected of them. They are Cynthia and Edwin. There are many others that provided excellent care. You were there for him when we were not able to. You kept us informed when he wasn't feeling well. When we came to visit him, the place was always clean. My mother is 92 years old and not the perfect patient. The kitchen has adjusted her meals, the RNs/LVNs, DNAs, RNAs, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Finance Office, Laundry dept, cleaning crew, maintenance staff and Management (sorry if I miss anyone) this staff has been so nice and helpful regarding my mother's every needs. They always keep the family, me and my sister, informed. In fact, my mothers' roommate (patient) told me that she never wants to leave the Manor. She loves staying at the Manor because everyone there are so very nice with her and tends to her needs. I give Suset Manor and all who work there: 5 stars *****. :)
