My mom is a patient at this facility and she has witnessed how much the staff tries their best to strongly protect them from contracting COVID-19. She always calls to tell me how happy she is that she's in this facility. As a high-risk patient, she's always been so nervous at other facilities but Sierra View is top notch. As expected, there are many new rules put into place in order to maintain the safety of everyone. I do have to commend the staff as there are plenty of people who will argue and refuse to comply with even the most basic rules. Like I mentioned, my mom is a patient there and has heard some of the visitors cursing and yelling at nurses who are just trying to do their job and protect everyone from the virus. For example, my mom said that one of their rules is that for "end of life" patients, they are allowed visitors ...but only ONE at a time. Nurses try to explain that to families and unfortunately, some of the families just met them with rudeness and curse words. I definitely have to commend the nurses for keeping calm and restrained during that time. Overall, the facility is well maintained, clean and complies will necessary COVID safety precautions. I feel assured that my mom is safe at this facility. The staff is easy to communicate with and always willing to help when needed. Definitely giving this facility high marks all the way through.

The staff there was very attentive and always communicated with me. We worked with Priscilla, the social worker who helped find a placement for my father's next place, and she showed so much patience with all the difficulties of handling these decisions. She was quick to respond to concerns and communicated quickly. The nursing staff was extremely helpful and kind to both my parents. My father was emotional when he left because of the sweetness they showed him. The head nurse, Cynthia, always communicated with me, answered my texts, called me directly if my father needed to hear a familiar voice, and a pleasure to communicate with her. This decision to place your loved one in a skilled nursing facility is not an easy one, but when you put them in a place that feels supported and you know they are cared for, it helps ease the anxiety of not having them home with you. Thank you, Sierraview, for helping our loved ones.

The staff was so lovely and accommodating and as we walked around I noticed that they had at least twice as many staff as I've seen at the other places we've explored. It really made me feel reassured that my family member would be very well taken care of. My mom was also very pleased with the idea of having her own room, and since she loves to garden in her free time, the nurses assured her that she was more than welcome to get her hands dirty if she wanted to. I really wanted to find a place where my mom can feel at ease and happy but where she can still be looked after, especially in an emergency. I think we've found the perfect place.

My sister had a beautiful big room with all of her things in it including her desk, computer, TV and DVD player, large bookshelves, and pictures on the walls. It really felt like her own apartment. She was unable to walk and was moved from her wheel chair to her bed in a hydraulic lift. The staff were warm and loving and always ready to do whatever she wished. She liked to do things on schedule so they helped her to set up a daily plan. Every member of the staff was friendly, patient, and kind. They listened to her requests and and appreciated her humor and wit. She enjoyed the home cooked food that was prepared for her and the other residents. And, in good weather often was taken outside to eat lunch or look at the beautiful, quiet garden. When she was first there she joined in exercises every day after breakfast. Our family visited her often and on occasion would take her out to the gazebo in the garden for an ice cream treat or special lunch. We enjoyed having Vanessa celebrate all the holidays in a big way. We had the Easter Bunny visit, visiting musicians, Fourth of July Flags, and Treats for Halloween. We all were very pleased with everything and everyone there. We were fortunate indeed to have found such a wonderful place for my sister to live out her last days. I heartily recommend this very special Board and Care home.

As her dementia and alzheiner's has progressively worsened and needed 24/7 care. I had a meeting with her physician who recommended and assisted getting mom placed here. It's been over three months since she began residing with Mayflower. I'm estatic with the care, procedures, documentation and treatment she receives from the entire staff. In addition, the cleanliness of the facility is outstanding. Visiting hours for guests are flexible with appointments made within a few days notice and family is allowed to take her out for the day outings - with approval of their physician. I just had a 3 month review with her social worker and she informed me that mom saw a dentist, optometrist in addition, to receiving a flu & covid booster shot. The facility also has activities like game activities, physical therapy, dancing and even threw a Halloween costume luncheon - which mom couldn't stop raving about. If you're considering care of a loved one - I would highly recommend Mayflower Care Center.

My father stayed at this facility for approximately one month, and during that time it became clear that the staff lacked sufficient training and experience in managing patients with dementia-related behaviors, particularly sundown syndrome. On one occasion, I received a phone call at 1:00 a.m. asking me to come to the facility because my father was awake, talking, and bothering the nursing staff. About two weeks later, I received another call at 5:00 a.m. with the same request. During that call, I was told that if I did not come in, they would transfer my father to another facility. As a family member, I understand that caring for dementia patients can be challenging, but these behaviors are common symptoms of the disease and should be expected in a facility that accepts patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. It was concerning to feel pressured to come in during the middle of the night because the staff could not adequately manage his condition. My disappointment continued after my father's discharge. The discharge coordinator, Ms. Wang, informed us that she would submit the paperwork to begin the IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services) application process on our behalf and told us we should receive documentation within one to one-and-a-half weeks. After 1.5 weeks passed without receiving anything, I contacted her and was told she would look into it. When another 1.5 weeks went by with no update, I personally visited the IHSS office to check on the status of my father's application. To my shock, I was informed that no application had ever been started. As a result, we lost three valuable weeks waiting for a process that had never been initiated. Had we been told the truth from the beginning, I could have submitted the application myself and avoided the delay. Families caring for elderly loved ones already have enough stress without being given inaccurate information that affects important support services. Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing. The facility demonstrated a lack of preparedness for dementia patients and failed to follow through on important discharge-related responsibilities. I hope management takes steps to improve staff training and communication so that other families do not experience similar issues.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!!!…read more I really need Yelp to allow for 0 star ratings, perhaps even negative stars!! If you have a loved one in need of care, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. The place looks nice on the outside but holy hell, this place leaves their patients completely unattended and neglected. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. There are patients screaming for nurses, patients who need help getting to the restroom being ignored, and it's completely unacceptable. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. We have a family member who needed assistance from recovering from a major surgery, and thought this establishment would be a good place to transition them back home from being in the hospital. WE WERE SO WRONG. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Recovering from surgery or any medical condition is a profoundly vulnerable time for many patients. It is not uncommon for them to feel down but to deprive them of assistance at an establishment that is meant to look after patients is both unacceptable and frustrating. Such experiences can significantly impact their emotional well-being during an already challenging period. This place is a scam, DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Heed the warnings of all of the 1 star ratings - we failed to and we regret it. NOTICE how all the five star ratings are over 2 years old or from profiles who have less than 10 reviews?
