I went to see Victoria through my dentist recommendation to fix a crown. While doing so, she cracked the root of my tooth, causing me to lose one of my front teeth at the cost of several thousand dollars. I can not afford to have an implant done, so I now have a large gap in the front. Hopefully the teeth will start to move on their own to make the gap smaller. I do not recommend her. read more

I went to my dentist a few years ago with excruciating pain. She couldn't find the problem but mentioned it could be the ligament around the tooth. She sent me to Dr. Victoria Moore, who had done a root canal for me a few years back. She also couldn't find the problem and said it was the ligament and had no remedy for the pain. Fortunately, on my own, I located a dentist who took a look and did an xray. He saw something in the X-ray and sent me to his friend, an endodontist. He immediately found the problem and did a root canal. I mention this because recently I had tooth pain and my dentist insisted I go back to Dr. Moore. we really got into a disagreement because I refused to obey her. I went back to the great endodontist I had last time. And now, my dentist is very irritated with me because I refused to take her advice so I've decided to seek a new dentist. I will never go to Dr. Moore again and cannot recommend her. read more

7/8/2019: I had an emergency this morning per pain, cracked tooth, exposed root maybe, but I had never experienced this kind of shooting pain, left me helpless, like a baby on the ground. Called 1 800 dentist at 7 AM, 7/8/2019 - they had no members in San Mateo (over 100 DDS in SM), got off the phone and started a search per Yelp by DDS closet to me ---- across the street! ... Manyak Dental Group, 100 S. Ellsworth Ave., Ste 601, San Mateo...11 AM appnt.... they moved it to 10 AM, thank God! I know I know.... I am getting to this Dr. Moore... DDS Angel...please be patient... After getting 21st century digital x-rays and exam, Manyak Group referred me to Dr. Moore... 3:30 pm, Dr. Moore arrives in room, pokes and prods a little, my hands reach up to her in defensive reflex, and she gently scolds me, tells me, "... no you can't touch me during this process.." I briefly apologize and tell her "there will be no wrestling matches, I promise...", as my wife sits in the room watching on... Dr. Moore took some pictures before I realized it - summary "tooth extraction" - tooth 30 has to go ... referred me a surgeon two blocks away... - A. Ahani, DDS, MD, -12 accolades in the lobby when one walks in, but the impressive part is all the letters that are tacked on a humble bulletin board off to the side... I know I know, I am getting to Dr. Moore... cheer down and be patient... The receptionist said Dr. Ahani has not available for appointments until August... what?! Then she says she was somewhat surprised that I did not receive more than one referral... I walk out of Dr. Ahani's building, worried and angry that I will face another night without sleep... So all I got from Dr. Moore's office, in my mind, at the time, was an antibiotic prescription, which she said would only buy me a little time at best. A few hours passed... I felt no pain... I mean no pain around gum or nerve, but just a little sensitivity when I touched the top of tooth 30.. Hmmmm... I talked with my wife, recounted appnt. with Dr. Moore, who we both agreed, poked and prodded for a few minutes, then I said I didn't feel anything...during exam my eyes teared, but I felt nothing... I said I think I am crying (tearing), Dr. Moore replied, "no worries, I won't tell anyone..." I asked her if she applied a local or something... Dr. Moore said no. I received no pain meds, nor did I ask for any... I felt Dr. Moore pushing around my gums (and nerves I suspect)... It is now 11:40 pm. I just drank warm Chamomile Tea, and I just ate solid food for the first time in 3 days, and I think I can go to sleep tonight. I think I can wait for Dr. Ahani now for an August appn't, at least I hope so. I feel I am in good company, so I will stay with all the above mentioned professionals. update: 7/9/2019, 8 am... still able to drink liquids and soft foods... Sorry if review was a little anticlimactic, but anyone who has had great pain per nerve exposure or nerve touching a cracked tooth might be able to relate. Do not underestimate this quiet little office in a tree lined lane, with low rise medical office buildings scattered across North San Mateo Drive. Peaceful. Thank you Dr. Moore. read more

I had a root canal done by this dentist a few years ago, and recently had one done again. It's only after completing a different root canal that I realized the pain and suffering I went through after her treatment was not normal! They hand out packets of painkillers at this place as if it's perfectly normal to be in serious pain afterwards. But a really skilled endodontist will ensure that you are in minimum discomfort after. My tooth never became fully painfree, the way a treated tooth is supposed to be. What a waste of time and money. There are plenty of better dentists out there who won't leave you with bad memories of a poorly done job. read more

You know there are problems in Mudville when the office staff is rude to the Dr. After years of dental care elsewhere, I went to Dr V for a very expensive] treatment. After Appt #1 - I was told to pay in full. Okay. Appt #2, I was ignored, waited while Dr V flew around the office caring for other patients. Chair side manner does not exist...very abrupt and aloof. I came to Dr. Moore after another peninsula endodontist did an incomplete root canal. Dr. Moore cleaned that up beautifully and with compassion for the fact that I had to go through so much unnecessary trauma from the first doctor. I absolutely love their state of the art tooth imaging system. Being able to see what the other doctor didn't is how Dr. Moore was able to get me back to normal. Right now, I'm in a spot where it's hard to know which doctor to go to first as I try and deal with a cascade of health issues, including an inflamed root in a tooth and a crown that needs replaced. Dr. Moore has personally returned calls and told me a lot of helpful things about my health crisis not to mention helping plan what we can do for my teeth. I was getting ready to call her again, and saw these reviews on Yelp. I really think the one negative review is out of place (I hope her problems got resolved). I feel that potential patients needed more info about how great Dr. Moore really is, and her staff has been wonderful to me too. I've been a patient here for years and have had several root canals completed by Dr. Victoria Moore DDS. She is very knowledgeable in her profession and has always taken the time to speak to me and answer my questions. She ensures I am completely numb and that I remain pain free throughout the procedure. She's an excellent endodontist. At one point I sustained a severe blunt force injury to my front teeth and completely lost feeling in them. I went to Dr. Moore and was sure I'd need 3 root canals in succession. She evaluated the teeth and suggested we take a conservative approach, waiting to see if feeling came back before we did anything invasive to the teeth. It took over a year and a half, but incrementally the feeling came back to all three teeth and I couldn't be more relieved she suggested we wait and see. 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the front office staff. While friendly enough, they need to communicate better amongst each other. Getting an appointment is easy, but if you need to speak to them about anything other than that, it has routinely taken me several calls with several people to resolve other simple administrative items, like billing and insurance changes. That can get frustrating. 5 stars for the medical service there, however, from Dr. Victoria Moore. read more

Dr. Moore did such a great job on my root canal that I told at least 20 people about her and her services. I came into her office with a cracked tooth under a large old filling. The office was modern and well decorated. The bathroom was recently remodeled and super clean (like the rest of her office...even the floors were spotless.) Her staff took perfect care of me by giving me a magazine and taking x-rays while the anesthetic was taking effect. They gave me over the counter pain pills and put me at ease. The whole root canal was painless...even the shot didn't hurt. The front office ladies handled my appointments and financial arrangements very professionally with a big smile. My appointment when over time and they had to work through their lunch to settle up and make the next appointment. They handled everything with no rush and a big smile on their faces...like I was family. I have to give Dr. Moore and her stff an A Plus Plus for their excellent and warm bedside manners and super excellent services. BRAVO! read more

I have never been one to commend someone as often as I should, but this time I felt the need to. I recently went to my regular dentist because I was suffering from toothache pain and sensitivity. After his exam, he explained to me that I needed root canal work and referred me to Victoria Moore DDS in the same vicinity as his practice. I scheduled an appointment with her and I have to tell you that she was outstanding! I never felt a thing. She made me feel completely relaxed and very comfortable. Since Dr. David Moore, Sr., retired (and he is both a very skilled and a very caring and pleasant dentist), this place has turned into a dental mill. You are nothing but an insurance number to them. All the bad reviews about his daughter are true. They routinely overbook multiple patients for a single time slot, in order to get as many people in the door as possible. Then when you show up for your appointment, they make you wait for an hour to 90 minutes before they call your name. When you arrive, they won't tell you that you have a long wait time ahead of you. So you sit there and you wait and you wait and you wait more and no one will come out to tell you when you will see the doctor. Finally, some office assistant comes out and calls your name. No hello, no apologies for making you wait 90 minutes passed your appointment time! They seat you in an office and make you wait another 20-30 minutes and if or when you ask when you can see the doctor, they come back and tell you, "Oh, she can't see you right away and we need to reschedule you for another day." Excuse me? Right away??? "Right away" would have been two hours ago at my appointment time! There are far too many good endodontists in this town. If I could give a negative to this dentist I would. First of all, I've written a review for Dr. Moore which was mysteriously removed. Then as I was searching for all the dentist in her office, they were ALL removed!! So, rather than taking my chances of having this review (mysteriously deleted), I've decided to add the business myself. First of all, If it wasn't for my root canal, I would not visit that office again. The office ladies were rude and took my money before I got any service and told me that it would take 2 hours to do a root canal. I was out of there in 1 hour. Then as I proceed to ask for my receipt with a statement so that I can claim my FSA, she told me that they cannot give it to me. I've never hear of any crap like that in my life! Then I've received 2 benefits claims for services that were done on 2 different dates. My dental insurance said that I should only pay about $60 less than what those ladies aske dof me. When I asked my for my money, they've refused! Needless to say, I will be filing fraudluent charges against BBB as well as with Consumer Affairs at the Attorney general's office. This isn't the first time that dentist use this type of tactics. So, DON'T go to this dental office if you do not want to get ripped off!! read more

Dr Moore is wonderful. I have had problems with a tooth for several years. She found and corrected what others could not. I was very scared and upset about having to have oral surgery after another doctor terrified me a few years ago. She help me be very comfortable before and during the surgery and was extremely attentive. She is amazing. Her staff is great as well. They work very well together and keep the mood light. The only reason I'm giving Dr. Moore 5 stars is because there aren't 6 stars available. How many people can describe a visit to the endodontist as pleasant, even enjoyable? Well, I can. I began experiencing sensitivity to cold and heat which was not a good sign. I contacted my dentist who immediately referred me to Dr. Moore -- and am I glad he did. Her office scheduled me for an urgent appointment and I was seen the next day. After x-rays and a thorough examination, Dr. Moore evaluated the problem, treated it, and gave me specific directions for follow-up. And then she called me the next day. Personally. Wow. From start to finish, Dr. Moore and her staff provided a superb example of old-fashioned care combined with extraordinary professionalism. I saw Dr Victoria Moore for a pain evaluation for a possible root canal. She was very friendly and explained everything she did in detail as we went along. I really like that. I found everyone I encountered very professional and gave me respect as a patient. I go back in a few weeks for another eval. She temporarily re-glued my porcelain crown back on and the pain when I bit down wasn't there. We are going to give it a little time and then decide the next step in 3 weeks. I am happy with that. If a root canal is the next step, I am very happy to have her do it. I'm picky also when it comes to health professionals as I worked as one before kids. read more

Dr Moore was great with my 10 year old, whose teeth were broken at baseball practice. She explained what was going on every step of the way - it was a 10 month process! Dr. Victoria Moore did a wonderful job on my root canal and BEST!! no pain, though I know that has a lot do with meds. But it was quick, painless and yes, you do get to see verything as it goes along. I think Dr. Moore is very effecient in her approach and manner but that's what I want from my doctor. She took the time to diagram the problem in a free consult - I think she's great! And PS - you pay AFTER the service. Makes me wonder about those other reviews. Doesn't sound right, eh? A few minutes with her reveals her immense, specialized expertise, her kind manner and most of all, a caring thoroughness to do only what will be beneficial and no more. I went there today thinking I was having a root canal and wound up with a far less invasive solution. I read some other Yelp reviews prior including negative comments about the office and the staff. Absolute nonsense. Staff and doctors are all fantastic and the office is nice. My own general dentist went to this practice to have his own root canal done. SCAMMERS! Complete scammers! I am writing this review on the behalf of my husband. We were referred to Dr. Moore by our dentist, Ricci Chan. During my husbands routine check up with Dr. Chan, it was concluded that he needs a root canal. We then made an appointment with Dr. Moore for a consultation, and honestly that appointment was a JOKE. My husband saw the doctor for less than 5 mins for her to tell him that he needs a root canal- something that we already knew. Due to her cold demeanor and her clear lack of interests in her patients we decided to go elsewhere. A few weeks later, we get a letter in the mail stating that if we do not make an appointment, we will be charged for her services. We were shocked! It was never mentioned at the first appointment that we would have to pay $125 for a 5 minute consultation. When we called to refute it, the receptionist said that we are lucky that we weren't charged over $200. because apparently she does that. SO rude. They called back today to say that they will reduce our consultation rate from $125 to $120- are you serious? Ridiculous. Please do not go here. There are MUCH better endodontist in the area. I would highly recommend Dr. Pei Pei Chang. She is absolutely amazing and my husband had the most amazing root canal. He was in virtually no pain and was fine the next day. If you look at her reviews on Yelp, they are overwhelmingly positive. We are so happy that we did not have Dr. Moore do the procedure. When it comes to Root Canal, yes, she is good. But, when it comes to dentist and patient relationship; she is not personable, sociable, and approachable. During a root canal procedure, a patient rightfully expects a little extra attention and understanding, unfortunately not at this practice. They are cold, they rarely smile, and they always look like they are ready to scold the patient for whatever reason. Being in this endodontist office and sitting in that chair, makes me feel like I am in the principal's office, waiting to be scolded Furthermore, their prices are almost double than most other endodontist practices in the Bay Area. (My insurance company informed me about this, otherwise I was clueless.) After thousands of $$$ payments they have received both from the insurance company and patient, they can still send the patient to collection for the remaining very small amount such as $100 or less. After the root canal, they do not even call once to check on the patient. If you call, because you are in pain, the treatment you get is a whole another disappointing story which deserves an additional one star review! Unfortunately, they lost my business. read more

Had an appointment last week as my dentist said I need a root canal. OK went in the nurse pulled up the x rays my dentist sent over then said I need a new one, mine was about 3 months old. Did the x ray, put it up on the computer with my original x ray - no change - Dr. Victoria Moore, I assume that was her - came in sat down on my left side, never said hello, or introduced herself. Looked at the x ray - said I had three options, leave it alone, pull the tooth or do the root canal. Then proceeded to draw a picture of the tooth and roots. Told me how much it would cost then left. 5 minute appointment - she need to improve her bedside manner, she might be a great dentists, but I am definitely not going back!!!! If I couldn't feel comfortable with a 5 minute visit what do I expect form a root canal. read more

Dr. Moore and her assistant provided extremely poor customer service and were quite rough when working on my elderly mother's teeth. Dr. Moore's assistant worked on my mon's teeth that left the tooth cutting into my mom's tongue. Dr. Moore refused to do anything about it - until my mom complained that they are happy to take her money but not provide good care. when Dr. Moore tried to smooth the tooth cutting into my mom's tongue - she was rough and created more bleeding in the mouth. My mother left the office with bleeding mouth that Dr. Moore ignored wiping and caring for. Unhelpful, unprofessional...service and quality of care is very contrary to the other reviewers experiences. Would not recommend this dentist to anyone unless you're looking for unkind and rough treatment. read more

Victoria is very professional and does a great job with root canals. I was able to make an appointment on very short notice--within 30 minutes after I called. She is very patient and explained the steps needed for the root canal. She did a good job of administering enough Novocaine to thoroughly numb the tooth. She is quick and has a steady hand. After wards, she helped determine if other teeth were in danger of needing a root canal. She came highly recommended by my dentist and I would highly recommend her as well. read more
