I told the Aesthetician that I had bad reactions to Botox, but she dismissed my remarks saying that they. my doctor (migraine protocol and muscular Botox for Myofascitis by a Neurologist) "They just did it in the wrong place" and disregarded that I did not want Botox, just filler along the lip line for wrinkles above the lip and maybe the lines next to my mouth. As she was doing shots in my face, she says as the needle is in my face, "just a little toxin". I ended up looking like Quasimodo or a monster (see first 3 pictures below). It cost me $1600+ for procedures I did NOT ask for and I DID NOT want and turned me into something grotesque. They refused to reimburse me for procedures later that I did not want nor ask for. I did not take pictures for over a week or more of myself because I could not look at myself. I also could not talk right, pronounce hard consonants, eat or drink because the water would just pour out of my mouth because I could not move my lips and my jaw, and I could not move my mouth or jaw to eat, drink or speak (= Botox). So, 3 of the pictures are the pictures from over a week or so after (less than the worst of it). I was told after the injections to come back in 2 weeks for them to finish. What! More money and work after over $1600? The last 3 pictures are from a week before the injections and at the time of a Zoom job interview and before they started to change my face into the disfigurement it became (...See the before and after pictures below). After 2 months I still find myself tripping over consonants and have to repeat them with very thoughtful pronunciations. I would not recommend Skin Smart.

It's rare to find a doctor who truly listens to your concerns and wants to understand the full picture rather than rushing through the appointment as though I am cattle. What I appreciated most was that she focused on finding the root cause of my issues instead of immediately prescribing antibiotics, which have repeatedly failed me in the past. She offered thoughtful at-home remedies and approaches that made me feel genuinely cared for and supported. Something that was super important to me is that the vitamins/supplements she suggested were ones without additives, just clean ingredients which I have at times spent hours searching the web for. It's comforting to know she gets it and I can fully trust her recommendations. On top of that, the annual exam was the most gentle, thorough, and comfortable I've ever had. As soon as I left the office, I called my sister and two of my closest girlfriends to tell them about my experience because I was that happy! They thought I was crazy for going to someones home but I knew in my gut it was what I've been looking for. Glad to share that I was right again :) If you have any reservations, let me negate them, her home was one of the most comforting places I've been, it feels healing, inviting, and warm. It's like your moms artsy friends house you went to as a kid who you just knew was the coolest in the 70s, and probably has killer stories you hope to hear when you're a little older. However, yesterday I experienced a micro aggression during our daughter's annual checkup. After I refused the flu vaccine for our daughter, Dr. MacOlino then asked our daughter if she wanted the flu vaccine. So when she came back into the room, I asked her if that was normal that she ask children if they want a vaccine when their parents have refused it. She said yes. But I know that is not true. Therefore, our daughter will not be receiving care from her again as I felt violated and disrespected as a parent. She had no right to undermine my authority as a parent. I guess she thought that I would not notice this micro aggression as I am a professor who studies this behavior as part of my research.
