Passing Through Waco or Mart, Texas? Check out Joey's @victoriansbarbecue Insanely great bbq and in a business where sides can often be meh... these are some of the best and unique sides I've ever had! He's killing it. If you get the chance to check out Victorian's Barbecue, you will not be disappointed!

I've been to all the major BBQ spots in Texas and have to say, Joey does something special with his food. The brisket is top tier, something just gives it that extra flavor. Not sure if it's the high grade selection of meat or the cooking procedure or maybe a mix of the two. Most importantly it is always consistent. The Tri-Tip is also an excellent choice. Get there early if you want to try it because it sells out fast. I believe it's only available on Saturdays. Try it with the chimichurri sauce, it's amazing. The cucumber salad is also very refreshing, not something I normally choose as a side but like the brisket, it's special. Such a good vibe, the staff is always very welcoming. The area is nostalgic and gives off that country life feeling. If you're in the mood for good food and a good atmosphere, Victorians is definitely worth the drive no matter where you're coming from.

Brisket could be cut with a plastic fork. What more do you need to know. Oh... the flavor and taste were perfect.

4 ribs and 2 sides $45, I've had better bbq for a lot less. Plus they're only open 3 days a week.

The brisket is the star of the show: juicy, perfectly prepared, and packed with mouth‑watering flavor that makes your eyes roll back. The chicken is bronzed, smoked, and tastes like little pieces of heaven. I'm not even a pork fan, but I devoured every bite of their pork ribs -- absolute flavor bombs. The green beans are so good they'll make you want to kick the chair out from under your favorite cousin. Our server Brooklyn was polite, patient, and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. She's a front‑facing star -- let her shine. I love this place. Call it Flav‑tastic or BBQ‑ambrosia, because it truly felt like a gift to my taste buds.

We bought two meat plates and the BBQ potato. The potato was by far the best meal of the day. Nailed it. Portion sizes were great overall! The meat plate BBQ was alright. The issue we had was with the sides. I had mac and cheese and the potato salad. I will say, everything felt and tasted homemade. However, I feel like the chef is trying a little too hard to get authentic flavors. Let the BBQ be the star and give us some old-fashioned mustard potato salad and normal mac. Both of my sides tasted strange. They had a weird aftertaste, kind of sour or old, not sure. I never throw out food, but I didn't take the leftovers with me. My last critique is the actual BBQ sauce. It also tasted original and homemade but seemed to be trying too hard to be different. It almost felt like a tangy, sweet salsa or puree. Keep it simple, or perhaps offer choices between a general sweet traditional BBQ sauce and your homemade version. Giving it 4 stars until we visit and try again.

And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.
