They are so casual and friendly at this restaurant! There is Downtown, free parking outside and the inside is decorated with colleges and with TVs. While eating, we had about 3-4 people ask us if we need anything and inquiring how we were doing. The food comes out quickly and tastes great! We tried the three meat and added one extra rib. It was enough for two people. The okra tasted great and was crunchy. The green beans were basic - not flavorful but also not overly greasy or salty - so I liked them! The brisket was soft and flavorful but not overpowering. The ribs were also great. The sausage was okay, not the most flavored that I've eaten. Good grief, K &K BBQ knows exactly what they're doing, and they do it consistently well. Not once have we ever been disappointed in their delicious food or friendly service. We eat here regularly, almost always taking extra food home for another meal or two. Our favorites are the sliced brisket, sausage and ribs but we would eat anything on their menu. Server was very rude. Fries and turkey were cold. Turkey was not carved but was sliced from a pressed loaf like in a deli. Greens were way overcooked and too salty. The coleslaw was very soupy. They were out of their special beans and it was just 1:30 pm. I remarked that the fries were cold and the server told me it was because I went to the bathroom and they sat out on the table. What? I was gone maybe three minutes. (About 10 minutes later, they brought out some hot fries.) We drove 12 miles out of our way to try this 4.8 star rated BBQ. Had to think about how to write this one. Wife and I travel full time, happened to be in Corsicana for a few days, decided to try K&K, we both love BBQ. That said, everyone's tastes are different. Service started off pretty good, staff is definitely friendly. Ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, wife ordered ribs. Brisket was fairly flavorless, used a lot of sauce, which was actually pretty good, to make it palatable. Ribs were ok, but the sides left much to be desired. The baked beans looked canned, and the potato salad had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The tables were pretty sticky, felt like I might have left some skin behind from resting my arms on it. Service that started out good went downhill as a larger party and several other small parties came in behind us. Servers attention was definitely divided. Most BBQ joints put a little scoop on of meat on a dried overcooked potato. NOT YOU! The potato was big and perfectly cooked and piled with your perfectly cooked brisket. It doesn't get any better. The brisket was tender and moist and the sausage was perfect. We also had the ranch beans and the Mac and cheese. Both were great.
