I have always been busty and one of the things I did not like about Victoria's Secret was the heavily padded bras. I do not need any extra padding. Well I came in to check out the bra sale and found my hard to find size: 36DDD. AND all of them are super comfortable and not padded up an entire bra size. The $50+ bras were on sale for $14.99. I bought SIX and got a cute bag (priced at $69) for free to go with my bras. My mind is officially changed about Victoria Secret bras and my boobtastic boobs area very grateful and comfortable. This LOCATION is just LIKE the Newbury St Victoria Secret! I went to buy new bras. I left without any that fit (34D, SIZE 2), as their "Bra Fitting" specialists could find nothing that fit me! Victoria's Secret does have a BIG selection of lingerie, but it all seemed to fit me the same, exact body type, super firm (super fake?) boobs. I even waited an HOUR FOR A BRA FITTING, during which both "specialists" agreed I am a 34D. Yet, NONE of their 34D bras fit me. They even tried a 34DD bra...WITH CUPS TOO SMALL? They finally tried a 36D bra, whose band still cut into my ribs unattractively, making me look as if I had FAT PUSHING OUT UNDER IT! (I am a SIZE 0-2!) Every single Victoria's Secret bra created "spillage" of my all too real (all too soft?) breasts out the center of the cups. I think ALL THEIR BRAS are specifically MADE FOR HARD (FAKE?) If you are looking for a VS store in the Boston area, I recommend this location, as well as the one in Legacy Place in Dedham. This location has a much better selection of merchandise than the smaller location on Newbury Street. Especially impressive here is the PINK selection, which is one of the largest in the area. My experiences here are very hit or miss in terms of the service. Sometimes I am treated very nicely and helped out and other times I am pretty much ignored. Last night I had a really positive experience visiting the store. The lines can be very long at the register, especially around the holidays and the sales. They always have so many people on the floor, but only one or two people working the register. Ask to combine coupons and other offers. I scored a great deal here yesterday by combining a sweatshirt purchase with 2 other coupons and then got a $20 off coupon for my next purchase. The worst experience I've had here was when a cashier tried to charge me sales tax on a pair of socks around Christmas. There is no sales tax on clothing in MA (unless it is very high priced), so this really got my goat. The sales staff got very argumentative about it and couldn't understand why I just didn't want to pay it. I insisted that they take of the tax, which they eventually did. I love Victoria's Secret. I am not too fond of this particular store. One time, I went in ready to spend a LOT of money. I had lost some weight and needed to replace all of my bras and buy a crapload of other stuff so things could, once again, fit me. It's fun to replace a wardrobe when it's because I've lost weight, instead of the alternative, so I went in ready, willing, and able to spend, spend, spend. It's really too bad that the salespeople that day just couldn't be bothered to be interrupted from their socializing to help me. I needed to be measured, and they acted like I was asking them to discuss quantum physics. Then when I attempted to find merchandise in my size, a salesperson made a really rude comment. I was pretty upset at this point so my original spending idea was axed and I wound up only buying about $20 worth of things. I was not interested in putting that $20 on an Angel card, but apparently that is also a huge problem, because I got another rude comment. People who do not charge things to an Angel card are clearly in need of serious mental help! I've returned many times since, because it was my local VS and I had my needs. I didn't always encounter the same salespeople issues that I had that one time, but I saw it happening to other people often. I even encountered a few salespeople talk rudely behind a customer's back after she'd asked them for help with - you guessed it - measuring. Makes me want to take my business elsewhere. read more

Three stars for selection (it's your typical Victoria's Secret, heavy on neon bras this season, unfortunately light on cute lingerie type items). Where they get docked is the horrrrible service. I'm not a La Perla high roller, but if I'm spending over a hundred dollars on underwear, I expect to be t least treated like a human being. Between being walked into(!) by a sales associate (who looked at me as if I was insane for daring to be looking for a bra in my size), being ignored as I was continuing to look for a different size on another item so the sales associates could drivel on mindlessly about what they should switch their majors to, and being borderline harassed for not wanting to sign up for a VS credit card, I think I've had my fill of this location. Next time I'll make the trek to Cambridgeside, at least the sales associates there passively ignore you, rather than taking you out without an apology. read more

I go to this one because it's easy to pop in when I'm going hitting up Sephora and Gamestop, etc. I don't come here cosmetics, they don't carry anything that you can't get at C.O. Bigelow or Sephora, except for the VS lotions and stuff which are... yeah... but you know, VS has some cute things. The intimissimi line is super cute. Every time I go in there, they are having problems with their little security, scanner thing at the door. They know that it's busted and they still search you. It's almost like you have 50/50 odds of getting out of there without a search. The line is also always crazy long and set up in this confusing way. They seem understaffed whenever I'm there. Little to no help at all. The worst part is, is that when they get really busy, I've heard some AWFUL snapping between them. It was bad enough to make me uncomfortable. read more

The location is nice --- near the Back Bay transit station, so it's very convenient to get there by taking transit! The service is SO GREAT!!! I went there with my mom, and the assistant Itza helped us find what we were looking for. She also helped me measure my size and suggested bras that may fit me. Really helpful and lovely!!! This location is excellent! I called ahead looking for a specific item I had seen online, and they immediately went and found it on the floor for me and set it aside on hold. When I arrived to pick it up, I realized that their Semi-Annual Sale was going on so I looked around a bit before picking up my item. The store was immaculate! What an accomplishment during what I'm sure is one of their busiest times of the year. The line moved quickly and I was happy with the service. My only concern was that there was only one staff member in sight on the floor to answer questions and she was busy helping other customers for quite some time. I'll be returning for sure! read more

I like VS and I like this one in particular. I consider them affordable especially when I shop after receiving their $10 off a bra and free underwaer cards. Last time I was here I asked to be measured, which I've never had before. I've always assumed I was a certain cup size and lo-and-behold, they upgraded me! I only wear Victoria's Secret as the bras fit me perfectly. But every time I go in, particularly to this location, the saleswomen are on me like vultures to a corpse. Every time I walk into a different section of the store an employee asks me if I need help. I always say "No, thanks" but they continue to ask me if I want to be measured or to tell me about the intricate science of some new bra they have. Yet when I've gone in there and actually needed someone, an employee is nowhere to be found. Also, I have the Angel's card, and the only benefit you get from it is a $10 off card mailed to you for your birthday. They told me I would get coupon books and I never did. I love VS. I especially love their specials and always shop here. Cambridgeside and others but this is my favorite within my immediate area. The staff are usually helpful and greet you as soon as you walk in. A lot of them are about the place, either folder the cloths or putting inventory out and organizing things. The store is usually neat and organized. When there's a crazy sale, things can get a little messy but you do see staff people going around picking things up and putting them back where they belong. Selections here are pretty good compared to the one at Faneuil Hall. read more

Overall, I do like VS, and most of my granny panties have been bought here, at $3 per pop (when on sale) they are a good bargain. VS has very different ideas as to what is considered sexy. Like that orange bra with lime green overlay and some glitter is suppose to make your man rip them right off you. Sometimes the starps say Very Sexy, could be useful if your man friend is real slow/dumb. The intimisssimi line is quite nice though. The store is clean and well stocked. The sales people will annoy you, the best way to get rid of them is to say that you already have their angels card. They are helpful, but pushy. read more

I went into this place to buy approx 3 pairs of sweats & 2 sweatshirts Apparently 1 of the items I wanted had no security tag on it & the 60 something looking manager (blonde) trying to look 25 actually just about accused me of taking it off to steal it. First of all, I had over $600 in my wallet, 2nd of all I was in 2 different dressings rooms so why was it ME that she accused of being the one to take it off? Her sales girls were very helpful & very nice. I have NEVER BEEN in that store ever before, nor will I EVER be going back! I have also never in my life ever been accused of stealing! Ok, yes, so this is a chain, but the Copley location is one of their better stores. This location has a huge beauty, skincare, and hair section in addition to room upon room of lacy, silky, and barely there under things. Don't count this place out for beauty items, they have a fabulous selection and while it isn't Sephora they do carry Frederic Fekkai, and other lines of well known products in addition to their own line which has some excellent shades of shadow and lipstick. I swear by their volumizing mousse. Check it out during one of their mega sales and stock up on their cool undies and matching bras. read more

Today I bought a bra here, and the person who rang me up forgot to remove my security tag. I didn't notice until I got home. Now, I do not live in the area, and I do not have large amounts of free time. I am employed full time as well as a student. I barely have time to go grocery shopping, let alone make a special trip to Victoria's Secret on Newbury St (or any VC at all for that matter) just to have the tag removed. I'd really like to be able wear my bra and not have to deal with this. I am definitely never shopping here again if they think it's okay to be so negligent. read more

I can't decide whether I actually dislike this VS location, or the entire chain on a whole, but I've been engaged in a very frustrating VS saga for about a month with this stupid place. Basically, here's what happened: -I went to buy 2 new Intimissmi bras because they are the only ones that really fit me. I planned on them being $19.99 each, like the sign said, but they ended up being $24.99. They had blank price tags over their regular price tags, so I figured they'd raised the price and been slimy about changing the signs. -I get home and wash/wear my new bras. After wearing my new bra for about 3-4 days, I notice that the bra has torn and the underwire is now poking out of the fabric and stabbing me in the chest, so I change bras, grab my receipt, and head immediately back to the store to exchange it. -At the store, they say I can do an "even exchange" so I grab one of the same bras from the same drawer, only to be told that they weren't the same price. Apparently, for some odd reason, there were two identical bras in identical drawers! (I looked them up on their website, the only difference was the SKU number!) The girl shows me the "difference", but by then I'm so abjectly confused and angry about the "same bra, different price" situation, I get a gift card as a refund and leave. The salesgirl on the way out reminds me that they now only take returns "with tags" but that they'll make an exception for me since it's a new policy. I'm sorry, but if the bra tears after a week of wear, they had better take it back, tags or not, since they sold me a defective product! Anyway, I had to go back a few times before I found a replacement for the one I returned. I ended up settling for the not-my-first-choice color, and the day I finally bought a replacement, all of the identical-but-different-priced bras were mixed in one drawer, with no way to differentiate from the two- no sign or divider or anything. I go to Victoria's Secret because they have the Intimissimi collection, which fits me well, but besides that, I have no other attachment to the store. Most of the clothes are very severely vanity sized, so they are much larger than their size indicates. Their bra sizes are very narrow, and they only reliably sell sizes 34-38. Having three sizes isn't a very broad selection, in my opinion. Also, a lot of their underwear is either tacky (lime green lace with tangerine sparkles isn't sexy!) or frumpy (off-shade, faded paisleys) or aimed at teenyboppers (PINK collection, I'm talking to you.) I'd try to shop elsewhere, but they seem to have the "affordable underwear" market cornered. UPDATE: I had to return ANOTHER Intimissimi bra due to an underwire defect. After closer inspection, I noticed that the wire wasn't sewed into the little wire pocket properly- half of it was sticking directly into the cup of the bra. It seems there is very poor quality control on this line (I found about 4 different manufacturing designs of the same bra, with some of the same size significantly larger than the others, and most of the beige ones having the same underwire defect.) It seems that certain colors are not manufactured as carefully as others. read more

Bad experience at this store and with the VS call center. I used to shop at VS but after a few incidences I left them completely, and I told my friends not to shop there either. This was years ago, I bought a bra at this particular store, got home and realized the cashier had forgotten to remove the security tag. I had to go back to have the tag removed. No apology from them. I then bought another bra, got home and same thing happened -- they forgot to remove the tag again! Funny thing is the security alarm never went off when I passed the door, so that's why I didn't know until I got home. This time I was very very upset. I went back to the store (I lived 1 hour away by train), asked for the manager, told her what happened, she asked for my receipt, gave me a suspicious look, removed the tag, and didn't say much. Wow, I can't believe they did that to me twice, and no apology! One year later. I moved apartments and forgot to update my billing address, so I never received the bill. When I realized that it was a few days past the due date. I called their CS immediately, explained the situation to the rep and asked nicely if she could wave the late fee. The woman had an attitude and said, "Nope, I am not gonna do that for you." Her tone really set me off and I became irritated and started arguing with her. Probably not the smartest thing to do. I then asked for her manager, she refused to wave the late fee and I also got into an argument with her. Again, not the smartest thing to do, especially when I found out later what they did behind my back to avenge me. I requested to close my account. She said ok, but you still need to pay the late fee. I no longer wanted to deal with them and do any business with this company. So I closed the credit card account, paid my bill and the late fee. In the next 5 years or maybe longer, I never set foot into their store and never bought anything from them. This was not the end of the story. A few years later I found out from my credit report that the manager had reported me to the credit bureau -- for paying a few days late -- obviously she did it to avenge me!! Wow, just can't believe how nasty these people are and how low they can go. Luckily...luckily, thank GOD, I always have good credit so despite their nasty trick, I still got close to perfect credit score! They didn't get me. read more

I am usually a big fan of VS, but this experience was definitely not a good one. The sales people were pushy, but not able to help me because they didn't seem to have any idea what they had in the store. I went in looking for a simple bikini top, but I am a 36DD so I needed something that could support me. The only top they had in my size was an ultra push up top that the sales associate admitted would show everything if I were to bend over... but she still insisted on that one because they had nothing else in my size. I asked 3 different sales associates if they had any halter top suits with thick straps... not one knew (they didn't by the way). When I finally wanted a dressing room nobody was able to help me, even after I told an associate that I was waiting. 15 minutes later someone finally opened a room for me. Overall I left the store empty handed and feeling awful. I will not be shopping there again. read more
