This review is for their Chicken Salad Sub only as it's the only thing I've ever gotten here (because it so damn good!) The chicken salad is incredibly fresh with good chunks of white meat chicken and is a generous portion (I usually get the small.) The sub rolls they use are equally fresh. It's a really outstanding tasting sub -- the best that I've ever had! If you want to kick it up a notch and make it otherworldly (in a way that only chicken salad can be ;-) ask for it "buffalo-style" (that is, with buffalo sauce mixed in.) The steak & cheese...wow!! I've heard good things and I'm happy to report that this sub lived up to the hype! The steak is tender as can be and just melts in your mouth. There is plenty of melted cheese throughout the whole thing (which doesn't happen at a lot of places). The bread-to-meat ratio is just right with plenty of steak as they definitely don't skimp on ingredients here. This sub was a special treat. I would absolutely recommend checking it out! read more

The sandwiches are better than great. The portions are huge. The prices are comparable to other delis in the area. But the woman who works evenings reminds me of Yzma in "Emperor's New Groove" (...scary beyond reason). First off this place has great food. However if I were the owner/manager I'd be losing my shit. A: Their website said that they close at 7pm. We called in at 4:20pm and they said that they actually close at 5pm. B: We called in at 4:20 and they said that they wouldn't make our order because they wanted to leave at 5pm. Today is my birthday! So my husband planned a day to take me to try two sandwiches places and decide which is the best. I'm happy to say that victorias won our vote for best Italian grinder in the area. It's loaded with toppings and the meat to cheese ratio was perfect and packed favor in every bite. Took a bite of my husbands steak cheese and mushroom which was absolutely excellent! One of the best we've had. Served hot with the cheese nicely melted throughout. Good size highly recommend! The Italian had a mixture of fresh vegetables in a delicious dressing that took it to another level. Little bit of heat and very flavorful. I had a pleasant experience coming here :) It's such a cute little shop! The subs were delicious. We ordered the cheesesteak and turkey club. We also ordered the pasta with red sauce and meatballs. The workers were delightful and made it a better experience. There are a variety of drinks you can choose from between the bottled drinks and alcoholic beverages. Had a test between two sub shops a couple towns apart yesterday , Maria's in Scituate MA and Victoria's in Hingham MA . I ordered a Italian sub cold with everything including hots, from both . Both very similar but I would say Victoria's sub was a little more stuffed with the meats and cheese and veggies, way more flavor in there vegetable relish of diced tomatoes, pickles and onions. No lettuce on a Italian sub must be a Massachusetts thing cuz both places no leafy greens on them . I really prefer sliced vegetables on my Italian sub , because with the relish it just falls out and makes for a messy Italian sandwich . I say Victoria's slightly too the cake for me between the two sandwich shops ! Both in great spots , with quick service and close to the ocean ! I had gone to Victorias many times in my life and while the food is less than average... the customer service is the worse I've ever experienced. The young kid working in the shop does not look clean with the food and the older women who work there are very crabby. The younger gentleman who they called "Brendan" called my son a slur under his breath because he was wearing a rainbow pride pin on his shirt. He continues to say "not in my store, I won't be having any of that shit." The moment I walked into this store.... I knew there was something off. I could tell by the vibes that the workers and customers put off. The inappropriate music started us off on the wrong foot. Next over the loud vulgar music this short man behind the counter started YELLING. I was just trying to think over the loud music that was giving me a headache what I would like. But this man didn't care he just wanted the money and for me to be gone. He then started to make some rude remarks about how I was gay and telling me he doesn't allow that in his store. Now that Jersey Mike's ( nice overall make it how you like w great meats) and EuroMart ( great bread and meat) have reminded me of a good Italian sub, I am updating Victoria. This is now a solid 2.4 no better. They need . Less ham, a lot less on the onions, banana peppers, more salami and how about some lettuce option. Sorry to say, but boy oh boy do these folks not understand customer service. After forgetting to include ordered sandwiches in the bag, I called immediately upon arriving home, they insisted they included them and it was my fault. "I saw them in the bag, so I don't know." I swear on all that holy they weren't included! Crazy! Then the Victoria's owner refused to refund my missing order, instead insisting that she had a line of people and couldn't figure out how to process a refund. We never leave the house because my son had a heart transplant. We did on this occasion to celebrate a birthday ... I explained this to Victoria's and her response was "we all have a lot of stuff going on, deal with it". First off let me start with there was literal hair in my sub, yuck. I walk in to the sub shop and I am greeted with the most horrible customer service. The place smells like the worst BO you've ever smelled. There was this short man working the at the counter on his phone the whole time, and was completely rude. I've been going here for years. Quite simply the best sub shop around. They are most known for their incredible steak and cheese subs. The best I've ever had. Also, their Italian subs are outstanding as well. The same with their meatball and hot Pastrami. They offer a White Bag Special, which is a double cheeseburger, a can of soda and a bag of chips... all for $6. The best subs around, and some of the most unprofessional staff I have seen in food service. On any given day you will overhear them complaining about the customers. The latest shenanigans was when the person who took my order -- and I have a deep male voice -- wrote the female alternate version of my name as who would pick it up. I'm sure you're bored, guys, but clean up your act. As for the shop itself, it's not bad; 3 tables each with 4 chairs. So if you eat there solo, you'll take up a whole table, which is kinda awkward when a group of people are looking at you and want that table. Clue #2 Victoria's: install an area for solo diners to chow down, make it a standing counter or with stools, put it in that cove by the beer. Anyway, tasty food, decent prices, the potato salad in the fridge is outta this world (sans tasty herbs, tho). I go here quite frequently, the super steak is made with high quality meat that is sliced on premise. I never a get a piece of fat or gristle. It truly is the perfect steak sub. My husbands family has spent their summers down here for more than five decades and my husband has been eating at Victoria's as far as he can remember. And since I've joined the family, we have been eating here too. The food is delicious. There is nothing better than a steak and cheese on the beach. The missing star? The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The gals answering the phone are the surliest, most unpleasant food service workers I've ever met. And based on the Yelp reviews in not the only one to experience this. So here's what Victoria's needs to do: Embrace the bitchiness. Make it their "thing." Like Dick's Last Resort or the Wieners Circle in Chicago, they should make themselves known for surly, condescending service, the more insulting, the better. The slogan should be "Victoria's: Where the Only Thing Pleasant Is The Food." Seriously, because the place is near perfect, they need to go for the gold with their already uninspiring service! I almost always stop at this sub shop before going to the beach. It's been here for years and despite the normal good experience, over time the quality of service and portions of meals have gone way down. Almost to the point where stopping at Tedeschi's Deli in Hull is not only cheaper, but a better value. Today, specifically, the experience wasn't very good. Waiting and waiting and waiting in line, and then still ultimately taking fifteen minutes to get my food and get out. Honestly ridiculous. And then there is a deadly parking lot. Maybe ten spots in all (if that) with no space around whatsoever. The weird entrances and exits from 228 and Rockland Street are also confusing. The interior restaurant, for one thing, it appealing and clean all of the time. It's not very spacious, but it does the job well. Staff are normally friendly, but for the large volume of business they do, there are very infrequently enough staff (especially during the summer months). I wish they would change a few things back to the way they used to be, because I used to absolutely love this place. Now, it's just ok. The food has always been accurate and delicious, but now they seemed to down-low cut some of the large sizes out. Also not that happy with that. Very disappointing for what used to be a place I looked forward to stopping every time I made it down to Nantasket. Hopefully, next year they will have large improvements! read more
