Once again, I am reviewing a diner. Diners have always been a favorite place of mine for breakfast, which is my very favorite meal. You will see that I have reviewed several diners to date and will continue to do so. I am on a relentless mission to find the very best diner that I can. I will even drive a couple of hours from my home to be a customer at a renowned diner. Jimmy's is a good diner. Their meals are fresh and served quickly and they have many options on the menu. I especially like their French toast, and they're easy over fried eggs and toasted English muffins with home fries. I have also had lunch at this establishment and enjoy their fish cakes and macaroni and cheese that they have on occasion. It is hard to rate the ambience in a diner because they're usually isn't much to speak of. I do, however, really like diners to look like a diner as in to be in a rail car, have the colors of diners, such as lots of chrome and turquoise or pastels, and have neon lights. I like the throwback diners. I will give an extra star to a diner that says diner just by its ambience if you know what I mean, this diner does not have those features but the food is yummy. read more

I have been here a few times now and it is typically really good. The chefs special of honey cinnamon French toast is my favorite. It was brioche style bread and I had banana on it which was really fresh. My friend got the corned beef hash and he did like it, the hollaindaise sauce was really good. Always consistent, always delicious with ample portions. Old time Diner, usually with many 'regulars' at the counter. We do usually get the same thing because it's hard to ​leave such a perfect dish. Our usual is chicken picata, chicken Caesar salad, appetizer sampler plate,any of the Greek dishes, and any breakfast dishes! A little tough getting a parking spot if it's the busiest of meal times. Could use an upgrade in decor but it's old school and just terrific. read more

I'm new to being a patron of Jimmy's. The food here is delicious, and they give you so much - enough to bring home half for another meal at home. The waitstaff is so friendly and welcoming (albeit one is kind of a chatterbox, so plan on being there a while if you get her). The main reason I will never go back again is that out of the - at best - handful of times I've been there, the owner at least twice has blatantly shown his disrespect and disgust with patrons who don't share his political views. What?? Dude, I just handed over my hard-earned money to support your business and you decide it's a-okay to treat me like trash? Like Michael Jordan once said, "Republicans buy sneakers, too." I'd return to this diner again and again if the owner kept his mouth shut and was grateful for the revenue. But clearly he thinks we're all obligated to eat there. My experiences at Jimmy's Diner have been hit-or-miss, and sadly, today was a total miss. I got the Italian Scramble (sausage, peppers, scrambled eggs, and potatoes topped with cheese) special, thinking it would be good blend of savory and spice. Though it had plenty of sausage, it had zero flavor at all, and was one note. The English muffin was soggy and barely grilled. Very disappointing. The service is inconsistent here and today's waitress had no service skills, just dropped the food and ran and never checked in, and only came back when it was time for the paycheck. She was "smiling" when she dropped the check off, but too little too late for me. There are many choices to eat in Weymouth, and Jimmy's is off my list. read more

I love love love Jimmy's! So much so, that I went there three times in three days! The first day I got house made corned beef hash with poached eggs=100% The second day, I got the turkey dinner. Solid, loved the squash side, the stuffing was the only disappointment=92% The third day, I got baked potato skins stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, peppers and ham=110% If I lived closer, I would be a weekly customer. Jimmy's on Broad Street is definitly one of our favorite restaurants to eat at. The food, service, freindlyness and cleanliness is paramount. Menu prices are quite reasonable. Was looking for a quick place to eat and stopped by here. Ordered a hash Benedict, regular breakfast: eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries, and 2 slices of french toast. Also got 2 large juices with a hot coffee and a french toast combo to go. All for about $48 not bad I think! The hash was delicious! The french toast was so soft and delicious as well! The diner was busy, not a long wait but there were barely any parking spots left when we got there had to wait a bit for someone to leave. Overall, nice environment to eat and chill around. Jimmy's never disappoints. Dont expect fine cuisine; it's a diner, but oh boy is it good. The menu is huge. I have never had a bad meal there. The service is good. The eggs are excellent. After sunrise service, we went here for breakfast. We started off with a grilled corn muffin and then I ordered a California breakfast. My order was beautifully presented and just stunning to look at and even better to eat! My husbands order was good but his bacon was way undercooked so we didn't eat that at all. They still have the plastic dividers up which I am A.O.K with. The only downside was the waitress - she wasn't very pleasant at all. She wasn't rude but she seemed annoyed that we didn't order coffee. I already had 2 cups by 7:00am after attending Sunrise service so I was fully caffeinated. If you work in an establishment like that you need to be a people person, ESPECIALLY on Easter morning. We would totally go back because the portions are large, the food is not overly priced and we enjoyed almost every bite. Gotta love this quaint places that have been around a long time. Had lunch at Jimmy's Diner on Sunday and the food was tasty as usual, but the one thing that stood out was how professional our waitress was. It was a super busy lunch time and our waitress had quite a few other tables besides ours that she was waiting on and she managed them all very well. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years and was very impressed with how professional, curtious, and friendly she was. Unfortunately I never got her name but she is the waitress with the heavy accent and the friendly personality. Keep up the good job!!! read more

Jimmy's is my favorite diner and luckily it's right up the street from me. Great food, friendly service and fair prices. Club sandwich is tasty with big pieces of turkey, thick slice of ham and lots of bacon with thick fries perfectly cooked a pickle and coleslaw. The Cowboy Burger tasted chargrilled and came with onion rings, slaw and a pickle. Some of the best chicken tenders with a perfectly seasoned light, crispy crust served on a bed of fries and again that delicious pickle. Classic diner ambiance. This local diner in Weymouth was surprisingly excellent! While my friend was getting her car serviced nearby, I picked her up from the service garage and we decided to go out for Saturday brunch. We went on Yelp and decided on Jimmy's Broad Street Diner and arrived here just after 1 PM. We were seated in a booth with plexiglass dividers on each side. We were given plastic menus and there were also a specials menu in the booth too. I both got ice waters as we looked over the menu choices. My friend was very hungry and ordered several breakfast items including a Short Stack (2) of Chocolate Chip Pancakes ($5.50), Home Fries (deep fried) ($2.25),and a Grilled Chocolate Chip Muffin ($2.25). The Chocolate Chip Pancakes were soft and firm with plenty of chocolate chips, sprinkled powdered sugar on top, butter packets on the side. The home fries were lightly fried and seasoned. I ordered a special Macaroni & Cheese with Fish Cakes ($8.95), which was a very generous portion of macaroni & cheese (soft elbows drenched with orange cheese sauce filling up the entire round plate, topped with 2 fried fish cakes (soft texture inside), tartar sauce provided by request. We were both very stuffed after barely finishing our food. Overall, the service here was prompt and the food was nothing fancy, but very tasty and filling. The total check before tip was $20.28, which was priced very reasonably compared to the other diners we frequent back in Metrowest and up in NH. read more

I've been in here a few times since I've discovered this place during covid, and my breakfast has been perfect every time! Nothing fancy here, just your typical breakfast items cooked correctly consistently. Portion sizes are very generous and staff is always friendly. We don't go out to breakfast very often...we are usually not breakfast people but this past Sunday we were up early and decided to try a place we had driven by many times. As it was particularly early, there were a few cars in the lot but there were still plenty of spots. Nothing worse to me than having to wait in line at a breakfast place which is often the case in these parts. But given how early it was we were in luck. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by one of the wait staff and brought to a booth. As diners go this place is quite large. It is has a nice feel to it, seems very clean and has interesting exposed ductwork. Our waitress was very nice and quickly came over to ask about beverages while we perused the menu. Coffee and ice water for us both. Unfortunately the coffee was just okay. I wish places would concentrate on providing the best cup of coffee possible as to me that sets the tone for a breakfast place. They serve mimosas as well and I would have loved to have had one but the draconian alcohol rules in Massachusetts dictate that you can't order one before noon on a Sunday. I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a side order of hash. My husband ordered French toast Hard to ruin a toasted a bagel so I am pleased to report that mine was perfectly toasted. The corned beef hash was delicious, nicely salted, nicely crisped on the outside and creamy good when you took a bite. My husband found his French toast and home fries much to his liking and had no trouble polishing it off. Good service, reasonable prices, clean premises, friendly staff all made for a really good Sunday breakfast. If they up their coffee game, it would become 5-star great. read more

What a fine spot. Simple food done well with pride. I had the steak and cheese sandwich and the grapenut pudding. Both delicious. My sister had the steak tips. Beautifully cooked. Tasty. Sadly, we couldn't say the same on our last visit; the service is inconsistent. The omelet was cooked exactly as I requested and home fries were not as crispy as I like but were flavorful. Eggs Benny, swimming in hollandaise sauce, was mediocre; the English muffin wasn't toasted enough and the Canadian bacon was undercooked. Jimmy's is now a mainstay for me and Katie. Even during this COVID19 crisis we have ordered for take out numerous times. Today, Monday July 27th after o medical procedure in Boston we called to order some seafood to pick up for dinner. We ordered quite a diverse set of plates but it didn't bother the cooks or our server Arianna who was absolutely wonderful to us both. It was an amazingly hot summer day and she could not have been more professional, kind, considerate, and gracious. I did tell this to the waitress. She offered to take it back but at that point I did not want anything else. We still had to pay for the meal. I will not order that meal again and the person I was with tried everything I mentioned and agreed. The stuffing tasted like cinnamon and had carrots in it and he thought it was terrible and the gravy had no taste. Maybe a new cook, maybe an off day but it was terrible and yes we have enjoyed other meals . Stuffing was exactly as I described . Carrots in it and cinnamon. Not sure how it is supposed to be made but that's not what I am used to so maybe it appeals to others. read more

The food was very good for the price. I live in Boston and I'm used to pancakes being $15 but they are around $10 here which is such a good deal. It also tastes good too and they give such big portions that I had to take them home! I love the chicken and the waffles tasted homemade. It was pretty packed but with a few seats open.
