This is without a doubt one of the oddest Stop & Shop's I've ever been in. It's small - not as…read moresmall as the former S&S in Manomet, but smaller than most. But that makes it fairly easy to navigate - except that they've been renovating bit by bit, so I still can't find anything without staring at the ceiling signs. And the reno has widened some aisles, made other areas appear bigger & brighter while simultaneously shrinking the area contents - it's sorcery, I guess. Their parking lot is now shared with the apartments and retail opposite the store so there are fewer spaces but there are also fewer customers than there used to be in years past. I guess that's why I find myself checking every single sell-by date since I've brought home way too many stale cupcakes, squishy tomatoes and questionable deli purchases from this store. And I do stare at the ceiling signs while wandering through, because most of the employees roam the store acting as if the few customers are invisible. Which in itself is fine - except I'd love an acknowledgement from one employee when I'm trying to get someone's attention to ask one question. I know they're employees because they speak to each other, just not . . me? High marks for cleanliness in this store, just not 5 stars because it's very off-putting that the employees are so detached. That seems to be the norm though in other S&S's as well, so maybe it's just a thing they learn to do? And the deli lady isn't as mean as she used to be, so that's a plus too.

A stock boy named Mike was exceptionally kind and helpful. A few months ago , another very kind gentleman helped me carry heavy boxes again. I think his name was John? You do not find good customer service anymore, anywhere these days - so please keep up the good work guys! Markets are a dime a dozen everywhere, but what sets this place apart is the cool selection of items and the warm customer service. I will continue to recommend this place to people :)

Truth be told, I'd actually tried to go to my beloved Trader Joe's, but it was closed on this fine New Year's day. Thus, this fateful day was the one I would give The Fresh Market a second chance. I liked it so much I returned four days later! The Fresh Market has some everyday staples, as well as some speciality and premium/higher end brands and products. They have an impressive bakery as well as meat/seafood department. There is a wide array of cheeses and great assortment of deli salads, sandwiches and heat & eat items. Further, a superb selection of bulk (priced per pound) coffee, nuts (including blends) and candy. All items seemed to be of top freshness and quality. After trying the bacon from their meat department, I may not go back to the prepackaged stuff again! There is also a fair selection of different wines at various price points, a limited selection of liquors, and a cooler with beer. Price-wise, it depends on what you're looking at. Some things aren't *quite* at the Market Basket level, but more-or-less in line with Stop & Shop or Shaws. Other things (I'm looking at you, bulk Jelly Beans) seem like they're a couple bucks over what I'd expect. The store itself is very clean, and all the shelves are stocked nicely. All the staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been professional and kind. Finally, the music playing is classical, of all things! Makes you feel fancy so you spend more money? I'm not a psychologist, but it seems to work!

The A Street section of the beach is the greatest for many reasons. No way to ever have to pay twenty dollars for parking, much more open space, and the best, is this very Tedeschi shop, where I get my lunch and other snacks every single time I come down here. This store sits at the corner of A Street & Nantasket Avenue and is convenient to all residents in the area and other folks driving by or visiting the beach. The store is large and offers more than a typical convenience store (hence the five stars). It not only has a full service Dunkin Donuts inside, but also a full, employee operated deli. Whenever I want an fast, cheap option for good sandwiches... this is the place to go. I used to go to another place up in Hingham, however, they have not been consistent and always busy. In general, this Tedeschi's also has lots of cheap snacks as well. It's always nice to not break the bank and be able to get exactly what you want. The parking lot is sort of small considering the busy liquor store next door, however, I will continue to be stopping here instead of other places. I parked at his job site (L st Hull) and decided to walk to grab the coffee given that it was only .4 miles up the street. A sudden urge hit me upon my speedy arrival. Oh god no... I have to use the ladies and panic set in. My husbands boss was on-site so I had to be sneaky about the coffee so nope. No bathroom option there, even if I could have held it that long. So I begrudgingly ask the woman at tedeschies, who doesn't even look like she had clocked in yet for some help (being a fellow human being and all-knowing that sometimes these so called human needs do and can on-set suddenly. "I came all the way from south weymouth (true and roughly a 20-30 min drive, depending on traffic which at 9am there was plenty of), took a break from my work to bring him the coffee he had forgotten to stop for. I don't see a restroom, however and I do desprately need to go?" To which she replied, "Yup. No public rest roooooom!", and her tone was gleefully repugnant. A bit frustrated, yet still seeking relief I then approach the Dunks side, ordered, paid and finally and politely waited in line to simply ask, "So....(insert previous story about how I got here, being the silly, silly do-gooder that I am), there really is no restroom for patrons, here, huh because I have to go urgently?", as I involuntarily began doing the dance we ALL know so very painfully well. The woman said no, of course and then added that maybe, just maybe...the fire station across the street will make an exception for my non-fire related emergency. Wow. And bothering the nice firemen sounded like a horrible thing to be forced to do...those boys have more important things things to tend to. Guilty. That is how I know felt for being so very human. Otherwise-she added, there was a gas station a lil over one mile up the street-in the oppisite direction that I needed to walk to get back to both my husband and my vehical which I now felt very incredlibly stupid having left it behind to both save gas $ (at my husbands request) as well as (supposed to be my silver lining) get some excirsize. Boy big mistake. Maybe next time I will invest in some depends. Wink. Anyway, no shade on Dunks because the nice firemen that I was forced to make my problem thiers, bothering them for something other than a fire, (smh) kindly took pity on lil ole me and even went so far beyond as to check that thier facilities where clean first. Afterwards I offered to buy them all a round of coffee (in exchange for the inconvenience) which they refused but thanked me for anyway stating, "How kind of you-no one coming in from tedeschies to use our bathroom ever bothers to make such a lovely offer." She was able to find some for $0.99 each, excellent buy. She also brought some foldable hard sided square bag with handles, excellent for carrying heavier items. First time seeing this type of bag. Is a pretty typical Trader Joe's, but it's very small, even smaller than the one we have back home in Boca, which is one of the smallest ones I've ever seen. But we found everything we needed and everything was pretty good quality in particular the fresh produce. Overall if you're in the Seaport this place is a must if you don't want to spend a fortune on food. I'd give it four stars, definitely recommended and possibly the only place to go grocery shopping in the immediate area.

I had provided a reference photo for what I was looking for and the cake I received looked identical. The reference photo had cake toppers of miniature ballerinas and the baker that made the cake said that they did not have ballerina toppers. Instead, they made their own ballerina toppers out of edible paper and gave me the option to place them on the cake. I was very impressed with the enthusiasm of the employees and the effort that was put into the cake. I would definitely order a custom cake from this Shaw's again.
