I moved to Odenton in July of 2017 and just now got a haircut! LOL I called at about 8:40 this morning, surprised to find that they open at 8. I asked for an appointment after noon, and she offered 1:30 - great. I did wait a few minutes for her to finish the client before me, but I could tell she really cares about giving the best possible result, which held true when she spent nearly an hour on my simple wash, cut & style. Sunny is just delightful to talk to, so I enjoyed my time in her chair. The only thing I specified was to keep my bangs just touching my eyebrows, and I am pleased with them being exactly right. I didn't give any other real direction, just shared that I don't like a lot of layers because I like to put my hair up when it gets hot. She told me, "You need a little bit of layers because it's thin," which is true and to which I agreed. Before the first cut, she held up the ends and showed me about 3/4" and said the splits needed that much to come off, and again I agreed. The end result, while not a style I can or would do myself except for special occasions (I don't curl my hair otherwise) is very flattering - my daughter and SIL said so! ;) I'll post an update in a couple of days, after I wash and blow-dry it myself - that is the real test, for me.

I went with her first solution to do a partial highlight to blend in my previous balayage. She did suggest to do a re-tone if I didn't want to spend more time and money on my hair. My appointment was at 10:00 AM, but due to traffic I didn't arrive until 10:25. I felt awful, but Jaime was incredibly kind and understanding, and still took me in right away without any frustration. The worst thing is their towel on the washing bed (the one that would contact with your neck). It smells (like dirty towels) and the location got contact with it felt itchy afterwards the smell from the dirty towel remains on my neck as well until I shower at home this should never happen at a four dollar sign salon. Besides that, the store was clean and quiet. My appointment was 1PM - 4 PM. Only two people were working at that time--the two owners. Tbh it was the first time I saw a hairdresser do everything himself--all the preparation, cut, perming, washing, etc. The limitation of staff resulted in lack of attentiveness. During the perm, the medicine touched my face, and overall the experience was not up to the standard. I really hope that they can improve because hair coco has lots of potentials.

Skunk hair no mo'. Movin' in. Impressed. Ozzy is a gem. Personable approachable focused efficient. A seasoned well-rounded professional hair stylist. The overall price is very fair for color, shampoo, cut, and blowdry/style. If I lived in the area, he'd be my new hair alchemist and stylist. Point blank. Since I was in the area to care for a family member, I took the opportunity to spend some available time looking human again. Ozzy helped me. It's amazing how a color and cut service can boost morale. I've sat on many hair chairs and there are a very few that can do it all - Ozzy is one of them. He preps properly before brushing on the hair color. The color mix blended seemlessly with my existing shade. His hair massages during shampoo and conditioning were spa-grade. I almost drooled. The cut I wanted I got and when I finally washed my hair, there weren't any uneven areas. Thumbs up. His blowdrying/styling skills gave my hair life for 3 days. I said NO LAYERS IN THE BACK I want nothing cut in the back I want my length kept. She ignored that completely and gave me the choppiest layers of my life. I genuinely can't fix my hair without chopping off like five inches, which is something I wanted to avoid. And not to mention the "balayage" looks grown out. I got balayage touch up done and there's weird pieces that don't even blend in at all. Terrible experience and I wish I could get my money back. I'm really sad because I miss my hair. There's no excuses and I tried to be nice about this but I hate my hair a few weeks later still. And realize it's just a terrible job done. Don't recommend this place at all.
