I stopped here while passing through town and was glad I did. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly worker. I ordered two plain slices which came out quick. I'm not sure why it took me so long to try this place after breaking up with Sal's but I think I had it confused with another pizza joint in the area. Victor's Pizza has consistently awesome pizza and cheesesteaks! We usually get delivery but we've eaten there a few times and it's rarely busy inside. I think most people pick-up or get delivery. Our go-to pizza is pepperoni and mushroom but we've had the plain cheese slice too and that's great as well. Unfortunately, their garlic knots leave something to be desired in the flavor department, but their bread rolls that they give with the pizza are excellent. (I think it's the same dough they use for the pizza crust.) The sauce they deliver with them is just OK. Frankly, the sauce a little bland - it could use some oregano and garlic or something but I usually just add that myself. Their salads are pretty good too. We like the chicken caesar salad, but the chicken isn't as flavorful as Sal's. Also, sometimes they don't give enough dressing with it, which is annoying. All-in-all, they make excellent food but it could be better. It's the best place in the area for pizza unless you want to go all the way out to Nomad in Princeton. read more

Victor's pizzeria is my favorite local pizzeria to stop and grab a slice. The owner, Danny, is a really cool dude and very friendly. The pizzeria is located in a shopping mall along Amwell Road, right after crossing over Route 206. This central location puts Victors in the center of town to compete against the other 5 pizzerias within a 10 minute walk: Alfonsos, Angelos, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Roman Gourmet. On of the advantages of the location for Victor's is the proximity to the High School and the Park & Ride. This is the closest pizzeria to the High School and right next to an area where students park their cars, so the student crowd will often stop in and grab one of the massive to-go slices. I have fond memories of grabbing a slice after school and then going to the martial arts school I work at for an evening of teaching. The pizzeria is small and cozy, but has enough seating to pull some tables together for a larger group. The long window on the side by the counter-top seating allows a good amount of light inside and also lets someone eating at the counter to see the going-ons outside. There is a beautiful painted mural along the inside wall of the pizzeria that depicts a scene at a local square in some Mediterranean town where there are children playing soccer, boats in the harbor, and hot pizza being served to happy guests. Often I will look at the mural as I eat and imagine myself in that setting. It's quite peaceful. The pizza itself is enormous. One of the to-go slices is practically the size of two normal slices. If you enjoy pepperoni, they're quite liberal with the amount they pile onto the slice, so I recommend getting that. The slice is usually pretty greasy and often molten hot coming out of the oven. I like to eat some of the crust to allow some airflow in the slice to cool it down. I also fold the slice "hot dog style" and tilt it to drain some of the grease. The cheese is always fresh and always delicious. The sauce is tasty and rich. The crust is thicker than most slices and very fluffly. Overall, I highly recommend Victor's to anyone looking to grab a quick and hearty bite to eat in Hillsborough. The slices are delicious and very filling. read more

We stopped into Victors after doing some pumpkin picking. Being vegan it's always a little difficult to have someone make us good pizza. Usually it's dry with a few drops of sauce and out-of-the-can vegetables. Man are we glad we stopped in. We talked to Danny about leaving off the cheese and making sure there was enough sauce and HE NAILED IT. We ordered eggplant, mushrooms and garlic. The vegetables were fresh and sautéed perfectly. Hillsborough is loaded with pizza places. From your small family business to your popular pizza chains, there is a pizza place for everybody in Hillsborough. But with so many places people often wonder which place has the best pizza. I don't think that's a simple question to answer. It depends on what you're looking for, what kind of toppings you want, are you eating in or carrying out. But if you are looking for a slice of pizza to eat in the restaurant then Victor's is the only answer. The Boardwalk pies for slices top any other slice you can get at some other pizza place. A couple other places try to do the boardwalk pie slices but Victor's is hands down the best at it. If you order a whole pie it's also really good so it's not like Victor's is only worth it for the Boardwalk slices. The sauce is a little sweeter than some of the other places, the cheese has a nice flavor to it and the crust is not too doughy, not too thin. Even ordering a pie to go the pizza has the perfect amount of crispness to it and is just as good. Simply put, it's the best pizza in Hillsborough. They also have very good wings which are big & crispy. Order them hot because the sauce they put on really is not hot so you won't need to worry about burning your mouth. I grew up in Hillsborough but I have never stepped foot into Victor's until a recent visit. Pizza places are a whole culture of picking favorites and (mainly) sticking with them. What did Victor's do right to get some new customers to step in their door? They were open on July 4th when everyone else was closed. I would give Victor's a higher rating than all the other pizza places in town (that I have gone to). I guess now it's obvious why they have always been there. The crust has a slightly sweet flavor that adds just enough sweetness to balance out the rest of the taste. We ordered a pizza with a bunch of different veggies on it and they were all fresh INCLUDING fresh mushrooms (I hate canned mushrooms). When I am back in town and looking for a slice I would definitely go to Victors again. read more

Was visiting family in NJ and this was one of my stops on four occasions for lunch. The pizza here is awesome, huge slices and a good variety to choose from. I always got the plain or sausage slices. The sausage is some of the best I've ever had and abundant on the slice. Ownership is very nice and the restaurant is very clean. Great Jersey spot. Somerset and Hunterdon counties are a tough venue to find an edible slice. Victors is tasty and their dough always seems to be fresh. The tell tale sign is the bubbling of the crust. The sauce is sweet and loaded with cheese . Like most area pizzerias Victors doesn't taste like the box in came in . This is a great pizza place! Service is quick and friendly and they have a few tables for outdoor seating. The best part of this place is when you go there and order slices, they are HUGE!!!! They make their slices from a 24 inch pie! My favorite slice is the white slice w ricotta. Out of habit, I usually order 2 slices, but I have yet to be able to finish 2 slices from here yet. I did try their garlic knots, but I didn't care for them. I'm not sure what they put on them, but the knots were very slimy and not all that garlicky. So, i will just stick with the pizza. First time Ive done this review thing but had to because am so annoyed and shocked ..normally the best pizza in town!! but tonight the pizzas were floppy, flimsy, and paper thin (crust) and totally different (like a giant cost savings project ... cut back on all ingredients!) I ordered here a few weeks ago with my mother and brother. She stands by that Victors is her and her boyfriends favorite place to get pizza in Hillsborough. I just say I was somewhat optimistic because I was never the biggest fan of victors. But my god that dinner just confirmed it for me that victors is terrible. Sorry to be dramatic but the wings tasted like they have been in a freezer for years and the pizza was soggy and gross. Will never go here again not worth another chance. This place is ..eh..ok. It's not terrible, but it's not amazing either. If you need a quick pie, then go for it. But to me their sauce tastes really sweet and is just, off. They make a great meatball sub..but again with off tasting sauce. I wish there was a rating between 2 and 3 stars. I haven't eaten here in a bit, so maybe the food has improved?
