I brought my daughter's Quince dress here for loops, buttons, and a press, but the experience was a total nightmare. After receiving no notification for pickup, I called the Friday before her Saturday photoshoot only to find they had shuttered the shop for the weekend because the owner went out of town. I was forced to reschedule the entire production--photographer, hair, and makeup--all because they couldn't be bothered to communicate. When I finally picked up the dress on Monday, they charged me $175 for a handful of buttons only to inform me they didn't even have the machine to press it. They even had the nerve to gripe about the glitter the dress left behind. If the fabric or the timing was an issue, they should have refused the service so I could have gladly taken my business elsewhere. While the girl who did the alterations was super nice and did a great job, the rest of the staff was extremely rude. The woman at the counter was particularly classless, refusing to acknowledge or even look at my daughter and me. She actually kicked the dress with her foot to get around us rather than acting like a professional. Regardless of whatever personal biases they have, we were paying customers who deserved basic respect. There are much better places in town that actually value their clients. Do yourself a favor and go to Royal Cleaners downtown; they are sweet, family-owned, and actually professional. read more

Since moving to San Marcos 6 years ago Victory has been our standard for dry cleaning and laundering. We use them for everything including alterations and each item is always excellent and always as promised. Additionally, I use Victory for all my business items as well. There aren't very many options in San Marcos, and I would definitely rather support small local business owners who have been here in town forever instead of a giant chain etc. prices are definitely a lot higher than they used to be, but I guess that is just the way the cookie crumbles! read more

The gentleman there was super helpful. I needed a pair of dress pants for an event the next day. He was able to get them dry cleaned and looking sharp before end of day- same day service!! Victory used to be my "go to" place for minor tailoring needs, such as replacing hems in dress slacks. They had a convenient location, and their hours made them accessible before or after work. Unfortunately, every time I went there, the price became increasingly higher and the quality progressively poorer. The work was trivial as I brought in freshly laundered garments, wasn't getting hems raised or lowered, or requesting a dry-cleaning. The final straw was when they grossly mismatched the thread color on a rehem--and it wasn't a difficult color match to begin with. A color blind seamstress is like a blind date--you never know how it will turn out on the end. read more

I've tried a few times to support Victory, but keep being let down. Went to the Kyle location (which, weirdly, doesn't appear to have its own page?) probably 2 months ago to drop some items off for my wife, about 40 minutes before their posted closing time. They were already closed up. No big deal, things happen. Went for another try with another order just a few days ago, this time getting there 4-5 minutes post opening. Doors were still locked so waited.. and waited... and waited... ended up waiting about 10 minutes and no one ever showed up to open shop. Ended up leaving with my two suits and shirts and driving elsewhere. I try to support local family owned businesses over big competitors or local chains, but hard to do when you aren't opening your store on time or closing early without warning. Beware for anyone dropping before work or rushing to get a pickup after work and trying to beat the clock. Hoping things change and stuff gets figured out, but until then we'll go elsewhere. read more

DO NOT take your items here unless you want to risk it being ruined! We took our Buffy comforter here and they completely ruined it. This comforter was very expensive and delicate and could only be dry cleaned. This place did not dry clean our comforter. From the looks of it they just threw it in a normal washer and dryer and then rolled it into a ball. I could have just done that myself and not wasted $50. Luckily we were able to contact the comforter company and got a replacement sent to us due to this dry cleaning place destroying ours. As you can see in the pictures our comforter was ruined of all fluffiness inside. It was returned to us with clumps of fluff stuck together on the inside and very wrinkled, which indicates they did not properly clean our comforter. I hope this review hinders others from going here and getting their items ruined as well! read more

Came here a few times and was only charged $3 per shirt. Upon coming back after weeks of using their services, the woman told me I was being undercharged. I said I can't pay $5.50 per shirt, that was outrageous. I dry clean my work shirts so it's not like I need a high quality cleaning per shirt. Im more upset that I won't be buying their delicious homemade banana bread because they want to charge me $2.50 more. Really sad they couldn't accommodate that price. read more

Took 3 items in to victory cleaners. 2 had stains I wanted removed, both were vintage items, one being 50's I asked them to be delicate, when I get my items back they did nothing to the stains, almost ruined the tag on a 1950's item and still charged $45. AVOID THIS PLACE read more

Great place if you are prepared to throw money away! I took a specialty item to be dry cleaned, they were the only dry cleaners that accepted the item and the job. I was excited thinking they knew more that other cleaners who had rejected my specialty item. When I received my first piece it did not look quite right, 2nd piece was still dirty and non of the stains were gone. The owner Gloria, said : let me try something else. -No one called me for months to say it was ready on the 2nd attempt. -She never mentioned that they would charge for every try, or for NOT doing the job correctly. I understand she is not one of many words, but some things are a must, like communication if you are charging. To my dismay, they charge whether they are able to clean or not. Which makes me wonder if they actually did put the piece through the machine... I expect a cleaners, that has had more than 10 years of Experience to be able to identify whether or not they are capable of doing the job correctly on the first try. When you have 30 + experience you know what is your strength, knowledge of textile, your in house machines or outsource them, how ever this is not the case. Victory cleaners are stuck in time, Customer service is not their forte, and neither is specialty items. I was sadly disappointed and felt they accept the job just to charge the fee. I had no indication that the Sheep rug I brought in was actually put through their system, simply because it came out looking the same. Spots, were just as bad as when I brought it in. This was not the first time I take these rugs in to a cleaners, they always came out beautiful feeling new again. The previous cleaners told me that they stopped accepting Sheep rugs because they clog up their machines. When Victory cleaners accepted the job, I thought they knew what they where doing, but now I seriously doubt the rugs were put into any kind of machine. I finally called to pick up my rug just to hear them say, " sorry, the stains did not come out and you will still need to pay us for the the service rendered, our policy". This is a perfect place for uniform type clothing that has no issues if they are damaged, and forget the specialty items. I don't mind paying the high price, but they also need to act accordingly. I asked them directly to reconsider because I would be writing a bad review, she said, " do what ever you want" , but come pick up your rug or we will be dispose of it. If I could give zero "star", I certainly would! New to the neighborhood with my new job.... Need a cleaner cause the spot by my old job in SATX... was great... Laundry for the white professional shirts was 2 buck each.... At this place, woman holds my shirts in her hand and says $3... I think, ok... Do the 8.... I picked the 8 shirts up today and bill is $45.... Why? I was told the shirts were blouses at $5.55 a shirt! Really! So much for supporting the local business as I will not go back there again. Excellent job altering my slacks! I needed the hem let out as far as possible on one pair and just a little on another. They did exactly what I asked and I both pairs look perfect. They let the hem all the way out on the first pair (which cost about $4 more) and they still look like they just came from the store where I bought them. The pants were ready when VC said they would be as well. Very pleased. read more

So bought a new dress shirt and dropped off to have laundered and pressed. Well I picked up shirt and noticed some discoloration right smack in the middle. Took it back and received no apologies just keep saying what I must have done. They said they would try again and still nothing. They kept putting blame in me and the store. I took 4 letter jackets to them after the Memorial weekend flood that were covered in foul polluted river mud and they graciously took them and cleaned them for me when other cleaners in San Marcos rudely turned me away in tears! I've always had good luck at Victory Cleaners. My shirts are always finished when promised and have never had any issues. One pair of pants needed some alterations and they were done very well and all thread matched very well. Their prices are a bit higher than other cleaners I've gone to for laundering dress shirts, but it is convenient for me and they are generally quick with turnaround. read more

This place is very unreliable. I brought in some clothing to be cleaned 3 days before my event, they said it would be ready the very next day. I showed up 3 days later in the morning and my clothing was still in the dirty clothes hamper. They said it was a mistake that sometimes happens and there was nothing they could do about it. They sent me out the door with my clothes in worse condition than I brought them in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This place used to be my go-to for all my dry cleaning and alterations. I even brought in my items from San Antonio. But after today, I will never take anything back to them and will NOT refer ANYONE to them again. I went to them in trust of my daughter's senior prom dress alteration. When it was dropped off, I was told it should be ready by the 18th; prom on the 22nd in San Antonio. To avoid after work traffic and headache, I went to go pick up the dress on my work lunch break. That tells you there my time is limited. After a bit of search, the young girl working the front told me she didn't understand why it wasn't on the ready rack. Said their system showed my daughter's dress was supposed to have been done on Friday. She then went to the back to look for the dress; as most times you know that shows and tells you you're not going to like the outcome. The young girl returned and said the dress wasn't ready. Said it was still needing a steam and that it will take an hour to complete. Being upset but attempting to keep my calm, I said ' I was trying to avoid after work traffic but I will just come back after work'. Then I left to fight lunch traffic back to work. I then returned after work, just barely making open hours of the business. I was sure it would be ready---I was WRONG! Yet again they couldn't find the dress on the ready rack. The people there even remembered me. I was then told by what seemed to be one of the owners/managers that the dress wasn't ready---AGAIN! I informed the owner/manager of what I was told by the young girl the first attempt in picking up the dress. All I was told was-- ' Sorry. I will talk to the girl from earlier. I don't know why the dress isn't completed'. She even had the nerve to say---' If you could've came in earlier, the dress could've been steamed and ready'. Guess I'm not a normal person that has to work during normal work hours and can come in at any time. No discount, no make up for their mistake of any kind.I was forced to pay close to $100 for crapy service and having to be in the traffic I was trying to avoid to begin with; in San Marcos and San Antonio. They should NOT put their young employees to work the front of they don't know how to do their job or care to do their job right. read more
