Scammers. Listed prices are deceptive due to a number of factors. A $999 processing fee to recoup their expenses rehabbing the car from its previous owner. They also attach $1695.00 for the installation of a tracking device. Salesman August presented the tracking device as an optional benefit during his sales pitch for their prepaid maintenance scam*, the full term of which cost $1695 as well. Other fees attached that are apparently common practice at ALL 60 Victory owned dealerships across the country. When we pushed back on the inclusion of the two $1695 up charges, they were willing to remove the prepaid maintenance. When pushed about the tracking device, August asked if we could see any benefit to the device. When we said, "No," August got a blank look on his face, and then repeated his question. We were still "no," which just lead to another blank look and another ask about seeing the benefit. They were willing to reduce the cost of the tracking device down to $699, which they claim is their cost. It took roughly a minute for August to discuss with his manager and return with that offer, so apparently we're not the first to wonder about it. The manager would later come out, and attempt to budge me from my budget. I set a hard top, and the manager, maybe named Peter, kept coming down, and ignoring our concerns about the tracking device. We finally just left, saying we were sorry for wasting their time. About 15 minutes after we left, I got a call from a number that my phone reported was a Chicago masked number, which I ignored because I was driving. It was a voice mail that started, "Hello (my name), this is Peter Gabriel..." and I got skeptical but excited as a huge Peter Gabriel fan. ;-). But he continued, "From Victory Honda. ... I was just calling to let you know I was able to get you down to the (price) that you're looking at I did some maneuvers and give you more money for your trade somebody able to do that for you if you found that the best deal please come back and get the car would like to own your business again I did it for (price) like you asked for thank you and have a wonderful night my phone number is ..." Apparently, these tactics are common across all Victory dealerships. Nitrogen tire fills for Toyotas that have no need, "Optional" tracking devices universally preinstalled, inflated tire lock pricing, passing their costs as additional costs instead of quoting accurate prices on their website. read more

They are very keen on selling you a car, but not at all interested in servicing one you already own. My spouse received texts from them at 10PM saying we were due for a service, which is true. I tried every means of scheduling a service appointment -- phone, email, text, their web form -- and the only responses I received were about sales. I couldn't get connected to anyone about scheduled maintenance. So I called a different Honda dealership in town and set up an appointment in about three minutes. read more

I bought my car here and also take it back to have it serviced. They seem to do a fairly good job. Now lets talk about the waiting room, they use to have pastries for all us trapped there waiting, well they stopped that. They also use to have a coffee machine with a few selections including hot chocolate, in the last year anytime ive been there its been out of order. They also have a machine that dispenses hot & cold water, I guess so you can make tea or have a cold drink.......... but they don't put cups out so it's useless if you're a customer waiting for you car to be serviced. Guess it works well for employees since they would have their own much. It's almost kind of insulting to see this, why not just get rid of the always out of order coffee machine and the no cups hot water machine. What's the point?? read more

Brought the car in for evaluation of IMA System warning after car cut out while driving on a Sunday. Left or right in front of the service entrance with the doors unlocked, assuming they could type or push it in to evaluate. Left a priority voicemail with service department. Did not get a call Monday morning so called. They told me I had to come in with the key. So fine, I did. Evaluation took 4 hours but they had a free shuttle service which took me home. That was great. They called with the results plus some more recommendations for service which I deferred until after dealing with the initial issue. Left car for 2 days for them to get and install the part (Fan, not the hybrid battery they installed 2 years ago thank God). Came in to pick up car, was given keys to get it myself in lot. But it didn't start. Went back in and service people jumped the battery. Went home. Next day, couldn't start car and needed another jump. Called Mike Hua in service who said I should bring it in for a battery evaluation which would take around 2 hours. What, exactly, was evaluated the first time ? Do I even have confidence what was done to the car is what was needed ? In addition, I was given the results of suggested services to be performed after a multi point inspection during this service visit. 3 of the suggestions I had had been performed in the past year. The others had estimates 2-3 x the cost of my local mechanic. They are under new management. I liked the previous management. read more

I've been a loyal service customer here for 8 years and have generally had positive experiences--until a recent battery issue led to a frustrating drop-off. I was advised to tow my car to the Peterson location, and while the towing company confirmed delivery with a photo, I was told by staff that the car hadn't arrived. When I called the scheduling team to ask about next steps, I was met with dismissiveness: "I don't understand what you mean by next steps. You called the scheduling team." That tone alone made me question why I've stayed loyal this long. No one followed up for over 24 hours, and I had to go in person Saturday to learn my car had been dropped off in an "unusual location," delaying intake. I waited four hours to ensure the repair was completed. Mike, the service advisor onsite, was helpful and genuinely tried to turn things around after a frustrating start. I appreciate the follow-up and the gesture of goodwill, including the complimentary AC filter replacement. While I'm grateful for the resolution, the initial experience fell short of what I've come to expect. read more

This dealership makes slimy look appealing!! I live in Indianapolis and drove 3.5hrs to pick up my new car. Fast forward to 3:15pm and I'm still sitting there waiting like an idiot. Turns out my "100 Percent" guaranteed application had never even been submitted until I walked into the dealership. I wasted 10hrs today driving and waiting. That mistake won't happen again. I left at 3:30pm in the same car that I arrived in. I still have no clue if I was ever approved. They blamed the delay on the bank being slow. Again, 100% means approved. Unless you enjoy being lied to and enjoy the absolute shit show required to buy a car you need to avoid this place at all cost!!!!!! read more

I scheduled an oil change and maintenance inspection online. I went in and let them know I had a warranty from when I purchased my vehicle that provided free oil changes until 100,000 miles or 60 months, whichever came first. This was not the same dealership I purchased my vehicle from, but I knew that wouldn't be an issue because I had already been to a different dealer for my first oil change and it was no problem. Any verified Honda dealership should honor the warranty was what I was told when I purchased it. The man helping me (Mike), could see I hadn't been charged for an oil change at my previous visit but said it wasn't clear why. I showed Mike my paperwork from purchasing my car with the information on the oil changes, he still didn't understand. During this exchange I asked to speak with someone else who worked there TWICE, and both times he did not acknowledge my request. Instead, Mike kept turning the computer toward me to show me what it said as if I were supposed to know how to find the information he was looking for. I eventually just left without getting my oil changed. It was a very bizarre interaction and I of course won't be going back to this location again. read more

The sales sharkey woman S.A. over there always wants to rip me off. I brought my car in earlier today because the battery died. Even though the battery was still under warranty, she tried to get me to buy a new warranty and not use the existing one. Are you serious?? Then, not only did she discount only 30 percent off the battery, she sneakily charged $50 labor for battery install and stated that I don't get any percentage discount for labor under warranty. If I could give zero stars I would. I took my 2015 Honda Accord Touring in to have the air conditioner repaired last Thursday and was told it would be analyzed and repaired the same day. Didn't happen as they told me they needed to order a new compressor, and that it would be done on Friday because the replacement condenser wouldn't arrive until later that day. Part did not arrive until Saturday morning. Repairs should be completed by Saturday afternoon. Curious as to why the part was not ordered on Thursday when the analysis showed it was the compressor that needed replacement. Very disappointed in the lackadaisical attitude of my service representative Mike with excuse after excuse. I've purchased five Hondas and had all services done by this dealership for over thirty years. Never again! read more

Worth mentioning is the single instance where the shop forgot to fulfill a service order during a big maintenance job, and when I returned to have the part installed, the service team did not charge me for either the labor or the part itself. I visited North City Honda to check out a 2020 Toyota Corolla with hopes of purchasing it. Prior to my visit, the dealership was very responsive about my trade-in vehicle which was a reason why I made it a priority to visit over a competitor who actually specializes in Toyota vehicles. It did not take long for me to be acknowledged after I walked in the door by Ricardo Salinas, the salesman who would end up assisting me with my purchase. In the process, Ricardo was informative, knowledgeable and nearly veered me towards leaving with a Honda Civic rather than the Toyota Corolla I drove over thirty minutes to see. I probably would have chosen a Honda, if I would have done my research beforehand, but it wasn't what I visited for. I found an interest in the Honda Civic LX, and Honda Hatchback Sport which were two vehicles mentioned by Ricardo. I test drove both and took a liking to the Hatchback Sport which was a huge upgrade in comparison to my trade-in vehicle. He also went out of his way by driving to Toyota of Lincolnwood to pick up the Toyota Corolla after I test drove the Honda vehicles. The decision came down to either the Honda Hatchback Sport or the Toyota Corolla, as Ricardo patiently waited. Even though the Hatchback Sport had better features, which honestly, I didn't care about, the difference maker came down to the price. I ended up going with the Toyota Corolla because it was what I visited for, plus lower in price. I laughed at the fact that I visited a Honda dealership and left out with a Toyota rather than a Honda. I felt comfortable purchasing with North City Honda with no pressure to purchase which was my overall intention anyway. I was treated with the utmost respect by each of the employees I met with during this visit. In closing, I had a pleasant overall experience at North City Honda. It was the greatest feeling ringing the bell signaling that I purchased. The vehicle to me is a symbol of my hard work throughout the pandemic as a healthcare worker. Beware the lease buy-out system here! I thought it would be less hassle to just do it at the dealership instead of online with Honda Finance. WRONG. First North City Honda tried to throw in an extra $1,190 charge for "processing" in addition to the legally limited $345. And the pay-off amount they had didn't match the one in my contract. The sales guy kept saying "per diem" and "it takes 10 days" which makes no sense at all. Then he said the Purchase option price in my contract was only for trade-ins. Which makes even less sense. So I called Honda. Turns out the pay-off number the sales guy had WAS the contract amount PLUS sales tax. North City Honda was trying to charge me sales tax on top of sales tax! What the hell, guys. The clueless sales dude asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. Not gonna waste my time -- I'm sure the manager knows exactly what he's doing. If you want to do a lease buy-out, just contact Honda Finance directly. I learned the hard way so you don't have to. read more

I bought my car here 3 years ago and that was fine. It was actually pretty good because it was during Covid lockdowns so I hardly had to deal with the sales experience- I was able to correspond by email and get exactly what I want. Which is how it should be. But this review is for the service center. I made an 8:30 AM appointment to get a 3 year checkup and see what kind of maintenance I needed. I planned to wait at the dealership so I told them I was gonna go wander around the neighborhood for a bit- when should I be back? They told me 2 hours so OK. I got a call about 1.5 hours in saying "did you look at the quote I emailed and texted to you?" I had not gotten anything other than a text from them asking how soon I was planning to sell my car (options were: right now, within a few days, or within a few months) so I was confused but it turned out he never sent me the quote. So not sure how much time was wasted there while they were waiting for me to respond to a non existent quote. I headed back to wait at the dealership after approving the quote, he told me it would be done in about 30 mins. An hour later I checked in (they do this all by text), he told me he was wrapping up paperwork and to give him 10 more mins. I finally got another text 30 more mins later (was staring at my car parked in the "ready to go section" that whole time) that it was ready and then had to wait in line for the single overworked cashier. Whatever. All in all I was waiting for 3.5 hours and I got the engine air filter and cabin air filter replaced. That's it. Well the next day I turned on the heat and it was making a LOUD growling noise I had never heard before. I got a text from the dealership asking if all the work was good so I responded with a no, detailed the problem and sent a video. All I got back was "ok so do you want to make an appointment to bring it back"? I said yes but only if they could give me a ride because I was NOT gonna wait for another 3 hours. He never even responded. I had scheduled service for an alignment at a tire shop so I asked them to look at why the air sounded so loud. Apparently the dealership people took out the old filter that had some leaves or debris on it, but left all the debris and shoved the new filter right on top. The tire people were really surprised that they did that because it was so obvious and the dealership clearly hadn't even cared at all, just rushed. Anyways I will never be going back to this place again I'm really over it. This isn't even the first 3 hour wait I've done for a simple oil change there either. On top of that they play the weirdest crap on their tv in the lobby- when I was there it was an ad for a carpenter apprenticeship program on a loud loop which was incredibly irritating, they had obviously overbooked because I could hear the manager keep yelling at techs "come on guys we have like 10 cars to go still!", and I had not one but two sales people approach me to give me their card to get me to sell my car. All dealerships suck for sure and this one is no exception. There are far better places to have your car serviced, like down an alley between two burning dumpsters as another reviewer put it. I think that would be a better experience than going back to North City Honda. read more

After 8 hours being stranded on the highway, waiting on AAA road side towing services , we had the car towed finally Saturday morning to the Honda Dealeship. Who after receiving it at 11 am - diagnosed the alternator and battery as failed. They replaced both and got me on the road by 5pm on Saturday. Have always had good experiences here until recently. I received a recall notice in the mail and this location did not have any in stock for my appointment. They then said to call the night before to check to see if they got it in (instead of notifying me when they'd get more in). Now I've been calling them the past two days for them to either not answer or when they'd do, they transfer me right away to someone else that doesn't answer or hangs up the phone. I've also emailed them and left voice mails and still haven't been reached out to. Very unprofessional and poor service. read more

This place has no idea what they're doing. Everytime I bring my car here they need something up. Brought it in for a battery once. They did a bunch of work in addition to the battery. Next day at work car was dead. Popped the hood looked at the battery and they charged me and didn't replace it. Bring it in another time for a hatch actuator and when I got it back there were hand and dirty footprints all over the back seats etc and they broke the clips that the hatch cover connects to. Now they charge me over 400 for rear brakes and only cut the rotors. I've been in vehicle maintenance for close to 30 years and none of my mechanics have cut rotors in over 15 years. Now I'm sitting here again wasting my weekend so they can replace the rotors which they're charging me 121/piece for yet Honda website had them for like 80. Dead bird laying on the ground outside service entrance. Very sloppy. Finally someone approached my car at check in. No good morning, no smile, just a rush asking if I have an appointment. I did for 9am. Arrived at 8:30. Walked to svc counter. Still no greeting from staff. It's dark there at the service counter - unlike other Honda dealers. Hoping the smiles and greetings would make up for this local business. Nope. The mailings notifying about new mgmt making a difference. Nope. Different Mgmt, same BS. Changing a lipstick on a pig is still lipstick on a pig. Oil change would take 1.5 hrs. Svc writer automatically charged me for the higher synthetic, when I booked the apt I requested the conventional. Talked to the svc mgr. I don't care if it is casual Friday. Staff look like bums. Porter-like person sitting casually in corner. As I worked to back out my car, he sauntered to move the vehicle blocking the front of my car. Finally, as if it would make a difference at this point. Some of this is probably generational. WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKING THE CUSTOMER FEEL APPRECIATED? Location matters. Each time I take my car to a rural Honda, service rocks. Here in Rogers Park Chgo, it stinks. At this point, bringing in some natural sunlight with skylights above the service counter may help. If not, the neighborhood could use a nice parking lot. read more

Bought my 2017 Honda civic from them 2 years ago. Today brought it in for an A/C recall. My mechanic conducted a dye test to determine location of the leak, printed out the recall with the leak results and told me to take to the Honda dealer it should be covered. The dealership (where I bought my car) told me they needed to do their own test for 400 to determine if it is covered under warranty because they explained no mechanic has the right equipment as they are Honda. They explained that this is dye test. They evacuate Freon from the system, introduce it again with a dye and see where the leak emanates from. Hmmm... exact test done by my mechanic for 80.00. I'll be reporting them to BBB and talking to Illinois fraud hotline. I won't be going here for any future service or sale! read more

When I noticed it On-The-Go report myself and brought it to her attention she said "well we're about to close in 15 minutes so we declined it, but yes it is unsafe to drive"... how long does it take to replace 3 lug nuts? I spoke with the manager, AJ, who deserves 10 stars, about my experience and he took care of me RIGHT AWAY! AJ put the lugs on himself. There's a man who shows PREMIUM customer service. My son purchased his first used car recently from this dealership. A used 2012 Audi and my sales person was great. His name was Josef. Showed us the CarFax and answered all our questions. My son and I felt it was such a good deal to start with, no negotiation was required. They mark the used cars competitively to sell and it was right in line with KBB. We did buy the car outright with no trade in so there wasn't much paperwork required. Paid cash and off he went! I made sure ahead of time there was no LoJack installed and they abided. I sold my car here with a dealer named Maartize and while I felt a little pressured into the deal, it's a sleazy car dealership what do you expect. I sold my car on a Saturday and I was promised that I would have my check in hand by Tuesday via overnight mail, so I rearranged my whole work schedule to work from home during business hours on Tuesday to be home to receive it as there is a mail theft issue in my building. Well Tuesday at 3:30 rolls around and nothing, come to find out it's not in the mail and I have rearranged my week for nothing. After a lengthy phone call with the dealer and his manager, Patrick, nothing was resolved and they missed the mail pickup for Tuesday, but I was assured that it would be put in the mail on Wednesday and would have it by Thursday for sure. I had work obligations both of these days and could not be home to receive the check but agreed as I just wanted this whole ordeal to be over with. Well no surprise, it was not put in the mail on Wednesday, and the only option I was offered was to have the dealer drop it off at my house on Thursday. This made me very uncomfortable and fear for my safety as a woman who lives alone but I felt that if I did not agree I would never receive payment for the sale of my car. The dealer said he would arrive between 5:30 and 6 pm, he did not arrive until 6:45 pm. Martize was incredibly inconsiderate for my time or wellbeing. Patrick just threw his hands up and accepted no responsibility for the situation. This was some of the worst business I have ever seen being conducted. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I needed an oil change on a new car driven only 1500 miles in a year, I got it in the burbs but didn't want to drive all the way out there and wanted to stick to the dealer. I made an appointment and it took a couple hours to get done, so I waited in the waiting room which was decent. Their coffee machine was needing service so I told the lady at the billing window who said she would take care of it, but she didn't so I told another person after waiting another 30 minutes. It was not clear driving in how to find the service area, a few people that may/may not have been employees were hanging out in front of what could have been a service entry but the gate was closed so I parked first, only to be told by these folks that I should come back and pull up to this gate to get service. Pulling up to it didn't open the door and they had to go step on the wire to open it since I didn't want to pull closer. The rest was pretty smooth, service was generally good and others were nice. They were trying to get me to rotate the tires but I really didn't think that was necessary since it was barely driven. read more
