I've since figured out how to disable the kill switch bs. There are wires underneath your steering wheel column they are green and orange they are connected together by a clamp I'm assuming it's hooked up to the engine.. you can take the clamp apart that will allow your engine to start up however it does not turn off the noise. Do what you want with this information, be mindful that this is voiding the contract but I do understand how hard it is to get to work and make things happen when you have someone restricting your ability to move around especially after paying THOUSANDS for a vehicle. When we went in for a vehicle the salesrep was kind and determined to get us in a vehicle. We assumed she genuinely was trying to help us as we were in need of a vehicle, we were wrong they just wanted to make a sale. Once we got approved they rushed us at signing by flying through the paperwork. We had to bring the vehicle back in 2 days later for a leaking tire which they took care of but this should have been inspected prior to sale. The service secretary is extremely rude and unproffesional she acts as if its an inconvinience to HER for us to get work done there. Her attitude is so nasty the front desk clearly avoids relaying information they would rather have the customer deal with her. We mentioned the battery was 6 years old at signing we asked that they replace it they said they would look at it they claimed it was fine but not a month later it died on us they refused to reimburse us for the money spent on a new battery. I was involved in a car accident that wasn't my fault. Before the accident happened I always made my payments on time. My payments are due on a Saturday. I asked if I can make the payment Monday they told me No. Mind you this is while I was waiting on the insurance claims process. I call Mr ALLEN and he said my car is already in repossession from being 4 days late. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in Wheels of Chicago dealership in Waukegan. They were very happy to take our money but the vehicle has needed service 4 times. Less than 6 months after purchase in June 2020, an issue with the exhaust has come up. It is clear this was a problem prior to purchase. Wheels of Chicago has given us the run around and will not operate with integrity. Any of the 4 previous service appts the mechanic would have clearly seen this problem. They never want to provide documentation of anything. Our SUV has the wrong year manual in glove box, we're still waiting to be given the correct one. Last time I asked I was told to look on YouTube for videos on how to change settings etc. Ridiculous! We purchased there on the recommendation of a friend. Now we cannot recommend them to anyone after their failure to be honest and operate with integrity with us. Extremely disappointing. The prices are outrageous but if you are in need of a car ASAP they will get you a car regardless of your credit history. They will charge you an arm and a leg for a down payment. I gave my paid-off car and $3000 down payment for a Cherry Red Ford Explorer. It was love at first sight. They made it happen BUT a week later the car got flooded and I had to replace 3 tires. I took it in for service and they kept it for 7 days to tell me that it was the motor mounts that were not working which they charged me $2000 to fix. They didn't give me a loaner car and I was on public transportation while making payments on a car that I couldn't use. When I got the car back it was still shaking. I called service and they told me it could be the transmission. I was in shock because it just had come out the shop and I had paid so much. The car eventually stopped working and I had to get it towed back to Wheels of Chicago where they told me that I had to pay $5000 to get it fixed. I emailed the owner (Allen) and he told me that the car was in recall for the transmission and that he would handle it. He lied. He never took it to the Ford and he wanted me to pay $1400 upfront to start getting the car fixed and add another $100 to my bi-weekly payments until the $5000 was paid off. A car that I had just purchased. I had to leave it there and now they are harassing me to pay for a car that was bad from day one and that is the only option they gave me. Because my money grows on trees and I can pay $800 a month plus find a way to get to and from work. It's sad how deceitful these people are with the hard-earned money of people in need of a car. I only went to them because my credit was less than perfect. I would avoid this place at all cost as the service and quality of vehicles for sale are horrendous. My friend purchased a vehicle from this location back in September and she's had nothing but problems from day one. As soon as she purchased the vehicle within a few weeks she had to bring it back for repairs. For the last 8 months she's been in and out of their repair shop for various issues with the car. Some of the visits were for the exact same issues that they either misdiagnosed or didn't repair properly from the jump. Not to mention that each time she brings the vehicle in for repair she has to pay the 100 dollar deductible and be without a car for a day or so which impedes her ability to get to work. Today, I was able to go in with her and request to speak to a manager regarding the service that she has received thus far. From the beginning, I could tell from the informal setup that the visit wouldn't be productive. I asked the finance teller if there was somewhere that we could sit and wait until the manager was ready to speak to us and she said no. I asked about the seating that they have available to individuals purchasing cars and she stated that that area was only for new purchasing customers. After talking to the finance manager she recommended that we speak to the general manager. We waited about 10 mins and the general manager came out and actually asked if we wanted to sit in the area that we inquired about the very first time. Once we were seated, we started to talk about the issues that my friend has been having with her car past and present. The manager acted as if he was shocked and didn't know what was going on with the car. I presented him with 10 work invoices and stated to him that it was absolutely absurd to have to bring this car back to their shop that many times in such a short period. He looked over the invoices and acted as if it was a normal occurrence, he even stated the cliche' response of "all cars break down". I also asked him why did they charge her $12,000 dollars for a $2000 dollar car! I guess that struck a nerve and that'a when he began to belittle me by asking me what kind of car I would buy and what kind of car I like... During this time I could tell that he was agitated with me as he wasn't making eye contact with me and his response became shorter and shorter. At that point, I decided to end the conversation and ask that he he provide us with a document that stated that we are releasing the car back to them. He even gave us a hard time about that process as well stating that there was nothing he could give us. Eventually, he went into the back and returned with the document that I requested. This dealership took advantage of a single mother and sold a her a car that wasn't up to par at a high interest rate. This place is the best! I rear-ended a truck and needed some body work done. State Farm sent me here because they are a "preferred provider" of State Farm. The manager, Hernan, took care of everything and even called the car rental place to come pick me up. For the amount of damage and the number of parts they needed to order, the service was fast and my car was returned to me on the promised day. When I went to pick up my car, I arrived just minutes before they closed so they said they would return the rental car for me! My car looked brand new. The only negative thing I have to mention are the business hours. They are only open until 6 pm and it makes it very difficult to get there after work. This body shop is terrific! Although I was dismayed to have to bring my car here for 2 repairs within a short time period, but I was extremely pleased with their work. Also, as someone who does not know a great deal about car repairs, this shop was very explanatory and did not treat me like an idiot simply because I'm a girl (Lady car owners, you know what I'm talking about.). My first repair was replacing a side-view mirror, which I had cracked. I was initially concerned about pricing and timing, but for this first minor fix, they gave me a reasonable price, and it was completed immediately after the part arrived. My second repair was replacing my bumper, which was cracked in a fender-bender. This was also handled in timely manner. Wheels of Chicago worked with my insurance company to settle on a good price, and I only had to use a rental car for one day because they worked so quickly. They also arranged for the rental company to pick me up before I had to go to work straight from their shop. This was extremely helpful. The staff was also very friendly and eager to please. The office manager, Phyll Zone, was very accommodating and even gave me a free car wash after both repairs. Worst service department known to mankind. I had a cracked radiator swapped out here 4 days ago, I came by today to pick it up and the first thing I noticed was a scratch and chipped paint on my bumper next to my tail light. I immediately went back in and spoke to Allen (manager) and the guy seemed alright and expressed genuine concern. He told me he'd look into it and have his "IT guy" run the cameras back and see if they were responsible. Finally, when I started driving back home I noticed something shifting around and making a loud thump under my hood EVERY time I hit the brakes. Whatever they did to my car, they never put it back the way it was supposed to be. So sure, if you want to get a pretty MINOR car part swapped out, they'll do it. But definitely anticipate some scratches, dents, different color paint and loose components under the hood when you pick it up. I'll have to take my car to a real mechanic now to find out what's making a loud thump every time I press my brake pedal. Hope this helps. Oh and the person in charge of their "service" departments name is Fredy. The man called me a liar to my face and said he doubts any of them were responsible. I recorded the entire conversation. I have pictures AND a short video showing literally every angle of my car while it was being towed to the dealership and they still thought I was lying to them.
