    Paint delamination from new Toyota Tacoma. Buyers Beware of this model! Do your research and you will see!

    Wow. All of these reviews make total sense. I bought my 2026 Toyota Tacoma from Chicago Northside Toyota, and this has easily been one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I have ever had. The paint damage appeared during a routine car wash with manual sprayer and in researching the issue I found similar concerns reported by other owners of recent white Tacomas. The truck only had 600 miles. I went to the dealership expecting help, honesty, and some level of customer support. Instead, I was pushed off, sent through layers of bureaucracy, and treated like the dealership wanted nothing to do with me unless corporate Toyota paid for everything. That was the clear impression the entire time. What makes this worse is that another Toyota dealership that had no prior relationship with me was more willing to help than the dealership that actually sold me the truck and took my money for warranties and service contracts. That says a lot. Northside Toyota's communication was poor, their handling of the issue felt defensive, and at no point did I feel like they were truly advocating for me as their customer. Everything felt centered on avoiding cost and responsibility rather than trying to do the right thing. If you are buying a vehicle, especially an expensive new one, understand this: the real test of a dealership is not when they are trying to sell you a car. The real test is how they treat you when something goes wrong. In my experience, Chicago Northside Toyota failed that test badly. I would not recommend this dealership, and I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before trusting them with a vehicle purchase, warranty issue, or long-term service relationship. I'll be pulling all my current and future business from them.

    08/30/23 - Go figure I go to this big ass 5 story Toyota dealer/service on Western Ave just south of Peterson to go look at a 2021 Honda Accord. I went to see a 2021 Honda Accord that they had listed on the internet. I had a 2011 6 cylinder Honda Accord that was just shy of 205,000 miles. I loved that car but it was time. After an exhaustive search I found the car I wanted. It's not brand new but pretty dam close w16,000 miles in it. Well I've been on the market for a car to replace my 2011 6 cylinder Honda Accord. This car has served me well w/205,000 miles but was sending me signs like constantly needing repairs. So I started the search looking until I found the right car. I ended buying another Honda Accord but this time I bought 2021 Honda Accord w/16,000 miles, almost new. Neither Honda or Toyota make the 6 cylinder car anymore but I bought a 2.0L w/252 HP & an Automatic transmission NOT the Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT which can have problems like overheating, slippage, loss of acceleration and can be quite expensive to repair. The car I bought is beautiful but I miss my 2011 V6 Honda Accord. Time will tell if this replacement will live up to my old Accord. It's a nice car but not quite the juice &!acceleration of my V6.

    I would never recommend the buying or leasing a Toyota at 6042 N. Western in Chicago. They will tell you everything just to buy from them and on paper it's something else, make sure you look at the paper work and specifically when the service your vehicle. I bought a new highlandER but I will never go back to buy another car from them or recommend someone. I'm extremely disappointed in this dealership.

    I wanted to wait a couple months before writing my review, which I am sorry for the people reading this late. Just like any other dealer I have learned they are there looking out for themselves and nobody else. It's all about you knowing what goes into the bill at the end and seeing how high the interests you will be paying. Feel free to do your own research because you will get robbed blindly. I'm not saying for this dealership specifically, im saying for ALL. It's rare to find an honest one but I recommend going out in the far suburbs in my opinion. There is no need to get a extended warranty than the one you are already are coming out with. Hope this helps!

    Really really poor service. Tons of employees mowing around and a long line of customers waiting to be served. Take your car elsewhere.

    Anytime you have to call Corporate, it's not a good thing…read more I purchased a set of front brake pads online for pickup. Turns out an hour after I picked up the item, it was the brake pads in the REAR that needed attention. You would think that making an even exchange (swapping one item for another that is the same price) would be easy? Maybe at Target, or Walmart, or even (gasp) 7-11 it is. But here? Oh no. Not at all. Let me preface this by saying I used a combination of online credit and a debit card to pay for my initial purchase. When I went into the location, one particular employee (I won't doxx him on here) make it very obvious that it was a huge inconvenience for me to ask him to help me with my purchase. First, he tells me that they don't do exchanges. (After I spoke to Corporate, it turns out they don't.) He said they would process the return and I would have to make a whole new purchase. But.... when I asked him if I would receive my credit back to use it on the new set of pads, he rolled his eyes and said "Don't know". So at this point I'm going to have to pay full price, when I initially used a substantial credit in the first place. It was obvious to me that he just wanted me gone, so he could go back to doing whatever it was he was doing. (Nothing.) So I left, without the part I needed. I called Corporate and not only got my credit back, but got the order placed at another location, and it was cheaper too, even with the credit. This location? Not again. We'll see how the Skokie location is.

    I ordered a metal polish online but didn't feel the website was sufficiently secure to pay online…read more When I arrived at the location (within an hour), they vehemently said that I had to purchase TWO to qualify for the price. They suggested re-ordering and paying online while I was at the sales counter but, again, their website did not seem secure as it kept returning to the homepage. The manager said there was nothing that could be done. Seriously????? Also, as Joe R. wrote, "When you ask someone for help, they act as thought you are inconveniencing them." Why does my address show as San Francisco?????
