They knowingly sold a friend a defective vehicle. They talk about a multi-point inspection, but it's apparent none was done on the vehicle.

BUYER BEWARE! NEGLIGENT, UNTRUSTWORTHY, AND IRRESPONSIBLE DEALER!…read more Summary: Since purchasing 4 weeks ago, I have put over $5,000 into a car I bought for $7,350. When asked about reimbursement, Nick will send you a response email suggesting Extended Warranty Coverage that you can purchase and disregard what you have mentioned. If you want a RELIABLE car, go elsewhere and learn from my mistake. Full Story: I am a recent college graduate who moved to Florida for my first real job. Between moves I went back home to Erie, PA to visit family and see a friend's wedding. Nick sold my stepdad on the car and I was told all is good. Wednesday, July 23rd: 2011 Honda Accord purchased. Tuesday, July 29th: A laundry list of repairs that had to be made: Initially after driving off the lot the back rear tire was flat, where my mechanic also found the rim was bent and had to be banged into place. The AC needed a full recharge and a small leak repaired. The steering wheel had to be realigned. Rear brakes and rotors were done. Two new tires on the rear were added. And all fluids were checked and flushed. This all resulted in $919.76. Thursday, July 31st: After all of this and I began my 18-hour drive to Florida on the 31st, my alternator and battery both went out while I was driving on the highway. This left me nearly stranded 3.5 hours away from home. Thankfully I was able to pull up to an AutoZone to switch the battery, and drive it to Monro where they replaced the alternator and serpentine belt. This then resulted in more charges to the full amount of $620.02 in parts and $237.26 in labor. So far totaling $1,777.06 within 7 days of purchasing. Friday, August 1st: After completing the drive and arriving in St. Petersburg, FL, there were still issues that needed to be resolved. Monday, August 4th: I emailed Nick regarding what has happened with the car he sold me, to which he completely disregarded what I had said. In his response, he did not even finish spelling my last name before a copy-pasted message for extended car warranty that I could purchase from him. Friday, August 8th: After taking my car to a local trustworthy shop, 2 items needed to be repaired: front lower control arms and struts. This resulted in $1,986.97. Now totaling $3,764.03 within 16 days of purchasing. Tuesday, August 19th: There are still issues with the car, it will be going back to the same shop for what is expecting to be both front wheel bearings. I am expecting another bill ranging from $900-1500. If this is the correct issue, I am expecting to be between $4,700-5,300.

On June 13, 2025, I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic LX with 189,010 miles from Northern Reliable Auto…read moreSales LLC for $4,088. The vehicle was advertised on Facebook Marketplace as "Very Clean" with "No check engine light!" Within 16 miles of leaving the lot, the car catastrophically overheated and became undriveable. A combustion leak detector test confirmed a blown head gasket and a coolant reservoir leak, rendering the car unsafe. An OBD-II diagnostic scan run immediately afterward showed the vehicle's computer had been reset and the check engine light cleared 80 miles prior to the scan -- placing the reset 64 miles before my purchase, while the car was in the dealer's possession. Honda of Mentor, the vehicle's prior owner, confirmed they sold it at auction with 188,948 miles and performed no repairs. The CARFAX report matches this timeline. This means Northern Reliable Auto Sales knowingly or negligently cleared the codes to hide a major engine defect, then sold the car as "No check engine light." Since the breakdown, I have: Sent a certified demand letter (received July 7, 2025). Filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau, which the dealership chose to ignore after I submitted evidence. Filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Consumer Protection Office, where the dealer again refused to resolve the issue. Northern Reliable Auto Sales has shown a clear pattern of misrepresentation and avoidance. They sold a car that failed almost immediately, denied responsibility, and ignored both state-level and independent consumer complaints. This is not an "as-is" wear-and-tear issue -- this is fraudulent misrepresentation. I strongly advise anyone considering this dealership to exercise extreme caution and have any vehicle independently inspected before purchase.
