I rarely do reviews here but felt it necessary since the service we received was above and beyond…read morewhat we ever expected! We had damages to our car from a hit-and-run (2013 Honda Civic) that were fairly minor; however it required at least two new tires. Our insurance company recommended a place to get the body work done. We would normally take it to the Honda Dealership. After the body work was completed at this place, they recommended we get new tires at Will McCarthy's. I could explain the whole saga with our insurance company but that will be a different review that will not be receiving anywhere near FIVE stars. To say the least, we only needed two new tires but due to the excellent service from the staff and especially the GM, Will, we went with getting four new tires! Will helped us with several issues that should have been caught but weren't and even made phone calls for us, as well as got us in contact with people we never would have been able to otherwise! We are so thankful for everything he did! Our car drives great and we our very happy with this experience!

I was having one of those days, the when it rains it pours kind of day, and Matt @ McCarthy Tire,…read morereally helped turn my day around. I came out from a dentist appointment on Leitersburg Pike, to a VERY flat tire. I think they call it pancake flat . lol . The road side assist guy that came to help me put the donut on, advised that a tire shop likely wouldn't plug it because the "injury spot" (a nail) was so close to the side, but he thought they should be able to do a patch from the inside but likely wouldn't' do a plug. As a woman and knowing nothing about tire repair, I was taking notes, for the common fear that as a woman or a person not knowing or seeming to know anything, I might get taken for a ride. I Yelp'ed nearby tire places, and by circumstance / situation, McCarthy was one of a few that was closest. I called to give them a heads up that I was coming, fearing an appointment may be needed and they said come on over! I drove over and my roller coaster of a bad day continued. The guy at the counter, comes out to assess my situation. He takes a look at the tire, and says he can't patch it because of where the nail went in.. I think great now I have to get at least 2 tires because they will never replace 1 (I'm familiar with these tire scenarios ) . But then he says , to my surprise and some skepticism, that he will just do one tire (what?!), um.. thank you universe, I don't have to get 2 new tires! We go inside, he checks inventory, I say I want, no I NEED the cheapest one please and a little typing later he declares he can do it all for 91 bucks. Yahoo, thank you , yes I'll take it. But no wait... damn we don't have THAT tire in stock. But we can order it and put it on tomorrow.. ugh no that won't work.. I'm in Hagerstown now and don't want to be driving all over the tri state with a donut or having to drive back into Hagerstown where I otherwise have no need to be, and adding this to my day the next day.. so I ask what's the cheapest that can be done today? Now we're at $150.. then he gets it down to $130 because I think he feels bad for me and my bad day? He takes my car into the shop and moments later comes out saying, you guessed it: you want the good news or the bad news first? And I'm thinking, seriously?! Another one of these moments! Come on!!! NO more bad news.. I say: Good news. He says: I can repair the tire after all. I leap with joy. Like literally leap from the curb I'm sitting on. Note I'm sitting on the curb outside because I want to sit outside because it was nice out; they had a very pleasant looking waiting room, I elected not to use ;) Then I ask, what's the bad news? He says I'm only gonna make $25 . And I think: 1) Holy moly this day is turning around. 2) Did he mess up the good news, bad news line? ;) 3) Where's the next curve ?! Nope, no more curve balls. He patches my tire, charges me a grand total of 25 bucks! And I promise him a review that will more than pay for the money he "lost" on me today! I'd be happy to share this story! Thank you, honest tire sales/ fixer guy Matt! You turned my whole day around when you took a second look at my flat tire and didn't elect to just take the easy, profit wheeling direction and you did me a solid. There's no doubt he could have just planted that $150 tire on my car, and sent me off. He took the extra time, to check, to do " the right thing", whatever you want to call it, and for that, he will have my loyalty and anyone who asks me about car stuff in Hagerstown, I'll send that way. Doing well by others matters and Matt @ McCarthy, who I learned recently acquired the business, totally has my vote. Your karma is coming for you buddy! ;) And my mini woe is me, bad day party turned into a: people are so good sometimes, SO good. You never know how much you can affect someone's day. Thanks Matt! ~Kym

I had a bad experience with Mr. Tire in Laurel, MD and a friend suggested Radial Tires in Silver…read moreSpring, MD to solve the problem with my new tires and the replaced tire sensors that Mr. Tire had broken during my new tire install and after several tries, suggested I take my 4Runner to a Toyota dealer. I am including a brief description of the condition of the vehicle when I arrived at Radial Tire Monday (2/16/26) at 2:00pm. The receiving manager and I discussed the tire issues and history. I told him I had a service light in the dash that was saying a tire was low on air and they were new tires (vs the previous service light for sensors not functioning). He measured the tire pressure of all the tires and they were all at different psi (33, 34, 42 and 18). My vehicle was placed in a service line and I waited in a lobby for approximately an hour. Radial tires took the low tire off the vehicle and tested it for leaks and determined the problem was that a valve stem hadn't been correctly sealed, the tires were all fine. Before leaving the work bay, I noticed the sensor light was still on, so a retest determined the driver's front sensor was going bad and it was replaced. The service manager told me Toyota and Lexus have challenging tire sensors, that they can often get one sensor working and the computer will then say another good sensor stopped working. I left Radial Tire around 4:30, problems solved and paid for one new sensor and install. I've had several people tell me Radial Tire is the BEST in this area and they will have all of my business in the future and that of anyone I know. Thank you for resolving what was a time consuming, frustrating experience!! I'm so glad my friend recommended you!!

I don't leave reviews often, but as a business owner myself, I know constructive feedback is…read morenecessary for improvement. I brought four wheels to Radial Tire to have a new set of all-seasons mounted and balanced. My car runs a staggered setup, meaning the rear wheels and tires are physically wider than the fronts. Since I maintain a small fleet of my own vehicles, I do almost all my own mechanical work, but tire mounting is one of the few things I have to outsource. Unfortunately, this experience highlighted a critical breakdown in basic quality control. I brought the wheels in loose to make the job as straightforward as possible for the shop, but they sat there for a few days before being touched. When I finally picked them up, I noticed the front tires were stretched onto the wider rear wheels, and vice versa. While the team corrected the mistake immediately once it was pointed out, this isn't just a minor technical oversight. Mismatched staggered tires can lead to a catastrophic bead failure or blowout at highway speeds. It is a severe safety hazard that could easily cause a fatal accident if it goes unnoticed before the wheels are bolted onto a vehicle. On top of the critical mounting error, the general pride in workmanship was non-existent. The wheels were handed back to me covered in caked-on mounting paste all over the outer rims without even a basic effort to wipe them down. To make matters worse, the shop also misplaced the summer tires I explicitly stated I wanted to keep. Management did the right thing by waiving the mounting and balancing fee, but at the end of the day, I am still short a set of my own property. I understand that mistakes happen, but a triple failure of safety verification, basic cleanliness, and property management means I can't risk bringing my vehicles back here, nor can I recommend them to any of the local car groups I'm a part of.

Recently, I faced a situation where one of my tires went flat after hitting a curb, and another tire had a slow leak due to a nail. I cannot speak highly enough of Mac's when it comes to handling any tire-related problems--they truly have an exceptional crew!

At first I…read morewas able to put air in the tire and it would last for around 3-4 days but now it was only good for hours before my tire would go flat. To make matters worse all four of these tires are basically new and less than 30 days old! Anyway, this whole thing was driving me nuts, so I started shopping around for a place. I remembered this local place that allowed you to drive up for on-the-spot repair and they work on your tire(s) while you wait in your car, so I decided to give them a try and I'm really glad I did. When I arrived there were a couple of cars ahead of me, which wasn't a big deal since this place is similar to a drive-thru you allowing you to conveniently wait your turn in your car. They work pretty quickly here and before I knew it I'm pulling forward to get my tire looked at. The mechanic was friendly, respectful, and took the time to listen to what was going on with my tire. He quickly got the tire off, diagnosed the problem, and explained what needed to be done in plain language. The problem was with the valve stem, which had a leak. The mechanic got right to work making the repair and explaining to me what he was doing. The work was done efficiently and correctly, and he made sure everything was explained to my satisfaction. There was no pressure, no upselling, and no runaround; just honest work and solid service. Oh, and the cost of this repair was less than 25 bucks! I couldn't believe I received this much service and such great work at this price point. What makes this place stand out to me is the customer service from all of the staff, but in particular the mechanics themselves that are actually working on your car. Usually, the people working on your car are hidden in a garage somewhere while you wait in a waiting room, so you never actually meet the mechanic working on your car. At Mac's you are up close and personal to the mechanic. That's a huge plus in my book. You can tell this is a local business that actually cares about its reputation and all of the customers coming there. It's the kind of shop where they remember you, talk to you with respect, and make sure you leave satisfied. If you're tired of chain shops and want to support a local business that does quality work and treats customers right, this is the place to go. They earned my trust, and I'll definitely be back for future tire and service needs. Highly recommended!
