We brought our vehicle here after having a nightmare of an experience with another local mechanic shop. The first you're greeted by is Destiny, she is friendly, welcoming, and most importantly knowledgeable. We had come to this shop with no faith in the auto mechanic industry, thinking we'd be putting endless dollars into a money pit that was our new vehicle... Rick (the owner,) his mechanic Andrew, and Destiny saved us. They were honest about what the vehicle needed, and gave us our best option. They forensically figured out what was wrong the vehicle, and told us our best angle was to get a new engine, which we did. Had the first place told us that - we wouldn't have spent thousands of dollars being ran around loops by the other shop. Rick took out the time to write a expert opinion letter to help us in our efforts to get our money back from the other shop, despite being INCREDIBLY busy. He was so detailed, and informative when explaining to us everything he knew. You can tell by talking to him that he has mastered his craft so much over the years of being in the Automotive industry. We were absolutely blown away by the level of attention, and quality of care that our car received, you end up feeling like family when you come here. They do everything here at this shop, but if you are having engine issues, please, please, please protect yourself, your pockets, and come to Williamsport. They are honest, and are affordable in this economy. Drove in a few weeks ago, before Christmas I told them I thought I needed tires balanced Because I just bought them a week before. They said no it's tie rods bushings lower arms etc etc. will call me with estimate next day. No call next day. Divine intervention. Took my jeep to a dealership it was $50 for rebalancing. Problem solved. Today dec 30 2024 there is a voice message from the female at this shop giving a quote of over $1,000 to fix my jeep. I returned her call. Told her rebalancing fixed the noise I originally came them for and it was $50 . And I congratulated her on a nice try to extort a grand from this senior citizen. I've used Williamsport Auto Car now twice after switching from a mechanic I had gone to for 20 years. Things were not working out there. Long story short my battery or alternator take a dive on me. I automatically call them because you get the most honest down home hard working crew of people you can be blessed to work with. Their staff is top shelf. Their mechanics take their time. This time I was tight financially so I told them honest to keep it tight and light. They went out of their way to give me an unmatched price anywhere else and they were done not only replacing what needed done, but diagnostic stuff which I am positive is tedious and time consuming, but once again they make sure you leave with a safe vehicle. They give you all the potentials and they let you know whats going on threwout the time your car is there. Another thing I really like their communication style. They talk to you and believe me their busy, but they treat each customer like your the only one. Its really something to work with their whole team. The ladies in the office are great at their job and a real asset to the shop. The owners integrity and his staffs integrity have made me a loyal customer. I tell everyone go to this shop because I feel comfortable knowing Im not sending them somewhere they will be taken advantage of. CROOKS. Absolute most CROOKED SHOP in WashCo. If I could give ZERO stars I would, buyer BEWARE. If it sounds cheap or strange, it IS. They tried to steal $300 from me saying I needed all 4 tire pressure batteries replaced after doing an oil change - my car suddenly notified me the tire pressure was low before I even left the parking lot. They assured me they checked everything and the batteries - all 4 - just died. I got a second opinion from another shop I trust but which is a huge distance away. The other shop told me the tire pressure on all 4 tires was at 32 PSI rather than 35, and all that needed to be done after refilling air was resetting the TPMS sensor. Funny how I lost all that air in every tire all of a sudden. Guess what? I haven't had a tire pressure light on since. Also was told there was no way it would've cost $300 (on a Mini) unless they cut a LOT of corners and used crappy parts. Which brings me to the next major BOTCH JOB by this shop, all at the same time. Someone had bumped into my rear bumper and pushed my tailpipe inward to where it was almost touching the rear control arm. *3* separate shops told me it needed to be fixed ASAP. Rick at Williamsport Auto gave me a quote for under $300 to fix while I got my oil changed (w/FRAM oil, wth). I found out with the TPMS issue WA added a pipe to make the exhaust extend out past the bumper to make it appear it was fixed. On top of that, before I knew it wasn't actually fixed, I had stopped in for a quick readjust because the tailpipe was touching my bumper and was sticking out too far. I found out afterward they then CUT original pipe between the end and the muffler. When I confronted Rick, he swore up and down there was no way they could have fixed the pipe's proximity to the rear control arm in the first place, then swore it wasn't a safety issue and he'd argue with any mechanic who told me otherwise, then swore he would fix it (which, recall, he initially said couldn't be done) to make it right so it wasn't touching the rear control arm. After a 3rd inspection by a Mini EXPERT/DEALER to satisfy his assertion it was not a problem to have the exhaust almost touching the rear control arm, where I was told it needed to be fixed ASAP due to hazard, and after I confronted him about his shop lying to me about the tire pressure batteries, he continued to justify himself and was shocked when I said I would not allow him or anyone else at his shop to EVER TOUCH my car again as they lied to me multiple times, worked on a part of my car that didn't need any work and left a HAZARD in tact. This guy is like a doctor amputating the WRONG leg and then justifying himself and thinking you'll come back for more. I began to offer solutions...laughing, Rick happily said to take him to small claims court. Only after relaying this disaster to friends did I learn they have a HORRIBLE reputation in this area and even pulled similar crap with a friend who lives in Williamsport!! No wonder they were begging me to do a review when I first went in for an oil change. Well, be careful what you wish for, Rick. read more

Looking at our tires, one had a strip of tire tread unraveling. We quickly looked to see if there was a tire store near us, and Williamsport Auto Care was across the street. hi my name is Keith spent almost 7 thousand at ricks shop Williamsport auto in Williamsport md. the warranty was for 3 years and what they fixed broke a year and a half later. I told Rick the owner I was moving to Puerto Rico so that's why I didn't take it back to him. gave Rick the phone number and shop name and even sent him all the pictures of why the transmission broke. it was because they didn't Install it back right. I'm new to the area and my car began shaking on the way home from work. My fiancé found the nearest auto shop, which happened to be Williamsport Auto Care. We got there at 4:30 and didn't expect to be able to leave with our car that evening; however, this is our only car at the moment and so we explained our situation. Everyone was so incredibly kind. They ran the test, ordered the part, and fixed the car all before close at 6 PM. This was some of the most efficient care I've ever received as a vehicle owner. They were so understanding of our situation and did everything they could to get our car in working order before close, all while providing wonderful customer service. I've had better service at better auto shops. This one started out in 2003 to be a fairly decent place. They were honest, direct, and were willing to work with you on repairs and costs. Now, however, they haven't expanded but have gotten to be too big for some of their most loyal customers. If you're a new customer, they'll treat you fair and some times better than fair. If you've been around the block with them a few times, they are not as good. Their mechanics (including the owner) are not up to speed on the newest vehicle technology, and they have only one person with computer diagnostic capability who is at the shop only one day a week. The owner hired a very young girl to answer the phones and "manage" the office, and she does not conduct herself professionally and is not knowledgeable of basic vehicle terminology. They have previously misdiagnosed a few of my vehicle issues, and overlooked others entirely. Please spend your money at a location with more integrity and experience. read more

What's worse then car trouble of Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm when you are 200 miles from home? I don't know, but if you are at Exit 2 of I-81 in Maryland take the Potomac St exit. This service center is right off the ramp. Donna ordered the parts, Andrew did the repairs and I was on the road again at 5:15. Great service, reasonable estimate and no wasted time. Rick and his team have been doing work on my cars for the last seven years. They have installed 2 clutches,(1 on a 1992 Honda Civic VX , 1 on a 1996 Honda Civic CX). On a separate occasion I had Rick install a replacement transmission on my 1992 VX. He's also done a radiator replacement on my '96 Honda Civic CX. To get a collector car on the road he installed motor mounts, and a custom Magnaflow exhaust.to my CX. I woek on japanese cars my self but if a job is too big or I don't have the time I take my car to Rick and he never lets me down! The best thing he s ever done was to replace the gear shift bushings in my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT at 188,111 miles. The shifter practically came out in my hand and Rick replaced the bearings and and made it all work again in one day, for about $60.00 in parts and $60.00 labor and the car now has $205, 772 miles on it and still is going strong! I have been a customer of Rick's for about 10 years. He has maintained, repaired, or given his blessing to "put down" four cars in our family over the years. I can always rely on him to provide an accurate quote and to do what's best for me and my vehicles. He has gone above and beyond expectations consistently, and I just love the personal customer service he and his staff provide. A few months ago I awoke to a flat tire on my minivan and it was loaded with over 600 lbs of equipment. I had no idea where my spare was even stowed, or if I would have the muscle to jack the van up properly! I called Rick to ask how to change my tire, and he explained the process in detail. I went back in my house to change my clothes, and fifteen minutes later I walked out my door to find Rick sitting on my driveway unscrewing the last lug nut. He threw the tire in the back of his truck and came back 30 minutes later to put the patched tire back on the van. No extra charge beyond the cost of the patch.
