Every year, our family goes camping -- it has become our special family tradition This year, we went with our church group to Victory Ranch. It was a new place for me and my family, and it turned into such a wonderful experience. The first thing we loved was the location. It's not far from where we live, which makes it very convenient, especially when traveling with kids. The place itself is very cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. But what stood out the most were the people -- everyone was so kind, friendly, and hospitable. The atmosphere made us feel right at home. The food was another highlight -- delicious meals served three times a day, which is such a great bonus while camping. There are so many activities for kids: a swimming pool, animals, fun activities, and entertainment. One of the most unforgettable moments was horseback riding. My son absolutely loved it, and it became a memory he will keep for a long time Even though cabins are available, we always choose to stay in a tent. My son always says, "I can sleep in a house at home" And that's exactly why we camp -- for the tent, nature, fresh air, and those special family moments. I went to Victory Ranch as a child for many years. I loved each summer arriving at the Ranch, it never disappointed me. As an adult I visited and volunteered and it was like I was a little girl again. The staff are very welcoming and amazing! I give it a 3 star . The ranch is pretty the staff is nice and friendly the food is good (American food ). Here are my 3 complaints. 1. At church we were told we were going to have access to the horses all activities that we need to pay. 2 days before we were told horses not available once we got to the ranch we don't access to nothing or the pool something regarding the insurance and the guy who was in charge was off that weekend . We left the city to come to the ranch to enjoy what a ranch is all about besides seeking more of GOD of course. 2. We had our youth service outdoors and I over heard one of the staffs telling 1 of the youth not to use that type of instrument I guess bc it's too loud??..... it was barely going to be 8pm . 3. All rooms need a DEEP CLEANING between the mattresses there is RAT POOP or mice this is so unsanitary this is dangerous . I wanted to leave as soon as I seen it. A lot ot kids and adults came back home sick with diarrhea and stomach pain not sure what cause it . Overall our whole church was blessed and it was an awesome experience we had we got closer to God and maybe all the fun stuff to do at the ranch were not available so we can actually seek more of God maybe that would of had been too much of entertainment for us . read more

An old fashioned throw back to a simpler time. Summer camp just like you remember from 40 years ago - not flashy, dusty, hot, but exactly what summer camp should be: horses, archery, crafts, bonfires, songs. It has a HUGE focus on very conservative faith - chapel and devotionals several times a day, but the rest of the time is crazy camp fun. Very caring and nurturing workers - they get to know each kid individually. The cost is very reasonable, even if you have multiple kids. My two look forward to going every year. read more

I came here with my church for 2nights 3days. The manager, Bill was kind and attentive to our needs. The foods were good and the place we stayed was good for the price we paid. This place is easy to find as well unlike other retreat sites that are in mountains. I highly recommend this place:) read more

I have been coming to this place for years. Usually the cleanliness has been poor. But this year, the owner made it a point to tell us during our children's camp to make sure we clean up after ourselves. He stated that cleaning the cabins after the camp completed was where most of the expenses for him. I really don't know why he would state that. I really feel that this is part of the cost I'm doing business. We should not be as campers concerned with this. Yes we should not leave additional trash for him, but it should not be our concern about what his costs are. Nevertheless, the cabin I stayed in had layer of dust, spiderwebs everywhere and a nice mouse/rats nest behind the stove. So am not really sure where the cleaning budget is going, but not in this cabin. read more

I came here for a women's retreat with my church this past weekend and I really enjoyed this place. The grounds were beautiful. I loved just sitting outside during our designated quiet time and just looking at all this place had to offer. We had a blast horseback riding and doing archery. Friendly staff. Food wasn't bad for mass produced food. I really hope we continue to have our women's retreats here! read more

My family and I have been going to this camp for DECADES! I remember when I was younger and my brother, who is six years older than I am, went to camp at Victory Ranch I was always jealous and couldn't wait until I was old enough to go myself! I got to start going to Junior Camp when I was in second grade with the GARB churches summer camps. One week every summer I got to "escape" the crazy world around me, leave the TV and Radio at home (go unplugged! Gasp, shock, horror!!) and soak up the beauty of God's grace around me! I looked forward to going swimming everyday, horseback riding, the craft cabin, archery, campfires, recreation time, chapel, eating in the dining hall, pretty much everything except the flag raising (sorry to admit I've never been a morning person!). When you are there you can definitely feel the Spirit of the Lord working in people's hearts! I continued going to camp every summer until I was in Teen Camp, and then as soon as I became old enough (at that time it was the summer before high school) I went to WEST Week (Work Experience Staff Training). We were put to work getting the camp ready for summer programs, cleaning up, weeding, basically anything that needed to be done, and we were taught how to work in the kitchen (everyone had to get a food handlers permit), run the snack shop, check out sports equipment, etc. so that we could be STAFF at the Junior Camps (all high schoolers had to be campers at Teen Camp). Working there over the summer provided me some of the best memories of my life! (Really, who wears galoshes for fun?!? WEST WEEKERS who helped lay concrete...that's who!!!). Now that I am "all grown" I still enjoy going to The Ranch when I can, be it for a women's retreat or to help them out with a special request. I look forward to the day that I have kids of my own and can send them to Victory Ranch for their own summer fun! God's grace saved me many years ago, and He has saved Victory Ranch from being devastated by wildfires several times. I am 59 years old and went to this camp as a young person. My children went here and now my grandchildren. Always a great experience for all of us. I always ask when I pick up my campers, "do you want to go again next year?" and I always get the same responce, YES. read more
