I hear such great things about Pantages but I just came back from a showing of Beauty and the Beast…read morethat was extremely disappointing. The Broadway cast and crew were amazing, mad props to them, but my grievances lie with the theater staff due to poor handling of an unruly couple (8/26 Row SS, seats 110 and 111) that disrupted my entire show. From the beginning, they were talking loudly and singing along with the musical actors. We kept trying to tell them to stop but they continued. At some point they had their phone flashlight on and was looking for something while the show was still going (the flashlight is especially bright and distracting when everything else is dark and moody). They just repeatedly and blatantly ignored basic theater etiquette. These were not isolated incidents--they were persistent and disruptive enough to significantly interfere with the experience of the people sitting around them (at least 3 rows--their row, the row behind them, and the row in front of them). The entire first half was so miserable. During intermission, I brought the situation to the crew's attention and was told that someone would speak with them. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I also found out during intermission from other people filing complaints with the crew that they were also texting the whole time and were disturbing the people sitting behind them (on top of being loud and obnoxious already). We did have 2 people give relatively weak (not firm at all) reminders of "no phone use, no talking, no singing along during the show" during intermission after the complaints but the couple was not present during those spiels. The couple then returned late from intermission and proceeded to interrupt the beginning of the second half... and then their disruptive behavior continued. During the second half, our area collectively decided to stop being polite about our grievances and started to intervene during the performance--telling them to be quiet, stop singing, and put their phone away while the show was going on. They didn't take the criticism well and started getting defensive. Why should paying guests have to police other audience members and, in doing so, further disrupt their own experience? For me what was particularly frustrating was the apparent lack of response from the theater after the issue had already been reported. It's just such a clear disruption of theater rules and common courtesy. Plus, other people are also complaining about the same two people. There should be a clear process for addressing the behavior, including asking them to leave. I see on the Pantages website that people can be escorted out... and I just can't believe that these people had no consequence whatsoever. 3 rows had a ruined experience because of them. I understand we can't predict who's walking through the door, considerate or rude or educated or not, but there has to be a protocol for the staff for when things like this happen. We the audience don't have power to kick them out (and wish we did) but the theater has, and the theater failed us. I just wish the staff will take complaints seriously and protect the experience of the rest of the audience. Moving forward, maybe have someone with a microphone announce ground rules, once at the beginning and another before intermission ends. In fact, I can't even imagine how much more disappointed I would be if it was any musical other than Beauty and the Beast. This one I know the Disney storyline and most of the songs so even with the 300 distractions I could follow along. The same cannot be said for other Broadway musicals. I would be so lost, so confused, and probably even more frustrated than I am now. I paid to see the performance, and instead I spent a significant portion of it distracted and frustrated. The lackluster response from the theater made an already frustrating situation even worse.

I arrived about thirty-five minutes early as I wanted to make sure there was enough time to find parking, retrieve my tickets, and find my seat. It was also my first time visiting this theatre. Ive made my way to will call to pick up ticket. A lady came out with prepaid tickets; I gave her my last name and she found my ticket right away. I didn't get her name but she was personable and kind. She was also very funny as we laughed a bit before I walked away--there was a big crowd of people that formed a queue behind me. Making my way to the entrance; I handed the lady whom was collecting tickets my ticket and she was very kind. They have a concession area for snacks and beverages. The theatre doors weren't opened just yet as showtime wasn't until 7:29pm, but the doors opened promptly at 7pm. I found my seat H-16 center which was nice and close to stage. The clock struck 7:15pm and the seats starting to fill in more with bodies. The production started right away but before it did there was an announcement that cell phones and beepers (yes beepers) had to be turned off--for everyone to sit back and enjoy the show. The show began and immediately it took me back as I remember growing up when the musical was released. I somehow remembered a few of the words to some of songs and found myself lip singing along: "We're all in this together Once we know That we are We're all stars And we see that We're all in this together And it shows When we stand Hand in hand Make our dreams come true" We are all in this together so let's make the best of life! This was truly an amazing show and all the actors and actresses were phenomenal--keep in mind that this show in particular was put on by the youth. I would like to return for an adult production. Nevertheless, it was a nice trip down memory lane. As I was exiting the theatre I found myself chatting with some people including the manager who was such a darling. I do my very best to always be in good spirits and this definitely added to it by sprinkling positivity all around. The only concern would be how hot it gets in the theatre luckily most seats were not taken because it was an afternoon showing so I was able to move to a more comfortable seat and not feel claustrophobic. it was hot in the I.E today and would consider a winter show. I had a great time even with the small snack bar and cheap prices.. also they should carry more craft beer rather then just the typical bud type.

Many of the musical shows are composed in house (like Wizard of Oz) and are unique to this theater which I didn't know - impressive. I was expecting the same songs as you would expect with such a well known musical, but it was all different and just as enjoyable. There was a few times they added Christian element to the story, but it was subtle and not in your face. The singing talent in the cast was pretty good as was the sound system. There is probably not a bad seat in the place as we sat near the back and had no issues. They have boosters for the kids as well.

I didn't get anything but expect theater pricing - on the high side. Workers here are very friendly and willing to help answer any questions you may have. The theater itself is very modern and nice inside. We sat far back but had no problem seeing or hearing the show. The acoustics were very good. Only issue for us was getting out - as there seemed to be only one area to get out and it would bottleneck after the show. But other than that, we had a great experience watching a musical here.

My problem is with the service here. I came here on Friday, August 21st. The traffic attendants directed us to walk one way in order to get to the theater. My mom and I then went that one way. When we got to the entrance of the theater, before the security check, one of the female valet/parking/rideshare directors berated both me and my mom saying we couldn't come this way. My mom apologized and she continued to yell at us. We were going through security and more people were going through that same way and nothing was said to them. It put a bad taste in our mouth. Then, when we entered the theater, we went to the merchandise booth, The people working the booth mentioned that there would be more shirts upstairs, so upstairs we went. We went directly upstairs, and we asked the attendants upstairs if there was more merchandise somewhere in the theater. They looked at us like we were stupid and said it's only downstairs, until one of them finally said there might be some more in the orchestra floor. Our saving grace was the worker at the merchandise booth up there. She was super sweet! It really put a bad taste in both my mom and my mouth. I really love this theater, way more than Pantages, but with workers like that, it just put a dulled the whole experience. The best part about the day spent here was the spectacular performance of Phantom of the Opera.

Wait for the unbiased reviews to trickle in before committing to their latest offerings, because if Brigadoon is the current standard, the bar hasn't just been lowered--it's been buried. Wednesday's opening night was, to put it bluntly, a stinker. We arrived with open minds and tempered expectations; we weren't looking for a Gene Kelly reincarnation or a Broadway-scale miracle. We understand the constraints of regional theater. However, what we witnessed was so profoundly lackluster that it felt less like a professional production and more like a mediocre college workshop. The "Highland" Lowlights: * Atrocious Casting: With the sole exception of Betsy Morgan--who possessed the only singing and dancing chops worthy of the material--the casting was a disaster. * Cultural Caricature: The premise of Brigadoon relies on a town preserved in time to protect its Scottish heritage. Why, then, was this cast like a generic Disney Channel original movie? The "Scottish" culture on display was a cringeworthy caricature reminiscent of a Mike Myers sketch. In a city like Los Angeles, home to thousands of versatile actors, is authenticity really that hard to find? * Anemic Energy: The choreography was limp, and the vocal performances were consistently weak. The sound system was so quiet it felt like a mercy killing; perhaps turning it up would have provided the "punch" the performers so desperately lacked. I cannot remember the last time I saw a professional audience flee after only a few scenes. We endured the first half, but left at intermission. It was simply that unbearable. While the Pasadena Playhouse relies on the generosity of donors to stay afloat, one has to wonder: is there any quality control left? Or is the current mode of operation simply to shovel substandard content at a captive audience? Thank God we aren't trapped in this version of Brigadoon for a hundred years. 45 minutes was more than enough.

Thanks to Yelp experiences! The Playhouse also hosts a Mini Mozart concert before the show. It was a great, immersive experience. This is not my first time watching the shows performed by the talented artists. It's really a versatile team that for many times, I'm stunned by the artists' intelligence and impressive vocals. Amadeus is a show that fans will love it with widely entertaining effect and a touching story.

That also has something to do with it. The Renée & Henry Segerstrom Hall is the newest addition to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus, opening in 2006. I have been to this place 5 times in my life. Each time that I have gone there has been a beautiful experience, top notch, in every way. Great location with so many dining options within walking distance & the Pacific Symphony are glorious, glamorous and amazing to listen to. This hall is GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, & EXTRAORDINARY! It has 4 levels and no matter where you sit, you can see and hear the performance very clearly. The sound system is FANTASTIC!! I have seen/heard Itzhak Perlman, Scandinavian dance performance, couple of Jazz artists like Berry Perkins Bobby Rush, and few others.. On February 7th, a friend of mine invited me to the event "St.Clair Conducts Beethoven & Don Quixote". Tickets started at $33 and up. Our tickets were $108.00 each. I know, pretty steep, but, totally worth it. We were sitting in the orchestra level row U, seats 10 & 11. I can go on and on and on about this wonderful venue, the architecture of the building, but my fingers are now tired, so I will conclude my review by saying that staff are very professional, helpful, ushers will direct/escort you to your seats, parking is $20 and the rest I am leaving it to your own imagination. Although a tip had already been included, Adolfo repeatedly asked several guests on the bus for additional tip money. He also stated that he would not leave the property until he received more money. This made our guests feel scared, uncomfortable, and pressured. Adolfo also arrived approximately 45 minutes late, causing us to miss most of our cocktail-hour photos and ultimately delaying our wedding by about an hour. When I contacted the company, I provided receipts showing that he was late, but they initially claimed that I was wrong and that he had arrived 45 minutes early. After I sent a screenshot of Adolfo admitting that he was running late, they responded that they could now speak with me about the situation, but they never followed up. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. The driver's conduct and the customer service team's failure to address our concerns added unnecessary stress to one of the most important days of our lives.
