It's got plenty of free parking, small park for the kiddos, a viewing area for the marsh, beach side is small but nice for picnic and swim. Plenty of geese and ducks that leave their natural presents all over the beach haha but that's nature. It's def a chill spot, i normally only ever went there as a meeting point when we are riding our motorbikes and meeting up with other friends. There are porta-potty bathrooms available between the beach and the kids park. Looks to be area for food vendors but don't know if it's going to open for the summer or not haha.

My father was boating alone on the North river last week, not in a rental boat but his own. He had…read moreanchored up and was fishing. It started raining, so he decided to leave, but could not get his motor started. He ended up pulling anchor and letting the current take him up the river trying to spot somebody to help him. He tried blowing his air horn a few times, but nobody heard or responded and it finally ran out of air. He drifted for quite a while, more than an hour, in heavy rain. When he finally drifted past Mary's he dropped the anchor and began waving his rain coat in the air to get somebody' attention. Somebody from Mary's took a skiff out to him and towed him all the way back to the boat launch on the South river. I am beyond grateful for the way they took care of him. He is in his 70's now, a former Navy guy, and somebody that always knew how to handle himself on the water. When they brought him back, he was cold and tired. I am so glad that the nice people there helped him out. He could have ended up with hypothermia very easily that day. On a side note, my dad and I used to rent boats from Mary's way back in the early 80's...they have been there a very long time and their rates are very reasonable. What impresses me most is how they treat people. They helped my dad out a lot. So much, that I decided I just had to write this review. Whoever it was that helped my Dad, Thank You!

The good: With the exception of one family not checking their dog's resource guarding, every other dog we saw was so well behaved with responsible owners. Between the beach, the walking path, and the hill, there's so much opportunity to run out your pup! While we were a bit bummed that high tide took away the ability to walk the entirety of the peninsula on the beach, the water was clearer than it is during low tide, so we'd definitely recommend a high tide visit. After a little over an hour there, our German Shepherds were completely wiped out and even after the 40-minute ride home where they napped, they were still conked until dinner time.

My boyfriend is currently a student at MIT and he took a 4-hour crash course in sailing and now, we're able to take out the little dinghy boats and sail on the Charles pretty much whenever we want! The Pavilion is also a great place to hang out and BBQ. On the 4th of July, MIT sailing club members can bring themselves and one friend to the Pavilion to watch the fireworks (each additional friend costs $10 extra, e.g. 2nd friend = $10, 3rd friend = $20, ...) I was so lucky to be able to spend the 4th (3rd this year!) of July with my boyfriend and the MIT crowd. It was a great time!

First, off the company overbooked a…read moreSaturday 1-5 session with two parties (which happens sometimes I understand that) but, my friends and I were on the boat ready to take off (cash given to the boat crew) and the boat crew gets a call another group is there for the Saturday 1-5 session. The boat crew then spent 15 minutes trying to get us off the boat so the other crew could come on. What bad customer service to ask the people who arrived 10 minutes before the other group, already paid, and were on the boat to leave! The only good thing about this experience is they offered for us to come back Sunday for free, but after the way they treated us and handled the whole situation we didn't want to spend 4 hours on a boat with them. Would never book with this company again after the way they handled everything.
