Can someone say, "FIESTA!!" This place is hot and I mean the place is always buzzing with excitement. They have a huge circle bar in middle, very clean kitchen, festive outdoor dining area and awesome, colorful decor! Came into town from Houston for my son's baseball tournament. When asked where to eat my family recommended Vida Mariscos. Fun atmosphere. I do wish the music was a little lower as we were yelling at each other like if we were in a club. We were told that a band would be showing up in a couple of hours, but the music was because it was Saturday. I ordered a mango margarita, and it was delicious, as well as, the pollo de mar plate, and my fiancé ordered the fajitas. Both were delicious. They had a mariachi band traveling amongst the tables but they were connected to amplifier speakers they carried with them. So. Loud. We couldn't carry a conversation bc we had to scream to hear each other. I love the music but the sound level was Obnoxious!! We were disappointed to learn we had to pay for chips and salsa (a first for us). We ordered the Vida parrillada for 2. The food was amazing. Absolutely loved the fish. It was so much food, we couldn't finish it and had leftovers to take home. For the 2 of us our bill was $91 which included a drink each, plus the chips/salsa and the parrillada. My wife and I ate for the first time here with her co-worker who frequently ate in this restaurant with her family so I was expecting that it must be a good place to eat. My wife's meal is good but not the meal I had,, I noticed that they serve a modest amount of food for it's price, the ambience is very spacious and festive but too much flat screen TV near the ceiling which is an overkill. The staff are efficient, well groomed, attentive and very presentable. I only wished that the management tone down the singing duo that hopes in customers table for some gratuitous money considerations for their singing which I find very loud on our entire meal stay wherein we have to raise our conversational voices to hear each other and that's a way too much to bear in your ears, I find it very disturbing and unpleasant. read more

When we placed an order for a certain entree we were asked to choose between different types of fish but were NOT told there was an extra charge if you picked one or the other. So at the end of our meal we get our check and each of us were charged gratuity of 18%. I understand people want to be tipped but WHY DONT I GET TO DECIDE!! That is shady and dishonest if you ask me. We ordered the parrillada for two and the amount was just right if not more than enough. The flavor was very good and it's all kept hot thanks to it being served from a small warmer type of thing ‍. The fish was definitely my favorite off the plate the fajita and the chicken was nice and tender. The stuffed shrimp was odd and overcooked in my opinion as well as the regular shrimp... however overall the food is good. The pickled carrots and chiles they serve were good but they add chipotle to it which my husband liked but I'm not a big fan.. not used to that flavor in that particular serving. Service was nice it wasn't busy for a lunch hour on a weekday. The ambiance is nice and open, I can imagine it being loud with more people in there. It was enjoyable as they played good music. The only thing I don't recommend is the fried seafood platter. Get something fresh or a mojarra Frita if you're gonna get fried fish. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because they have mariachis that are extremely loud and in your face while you eat. If the table next to you buys a song get ready to go deaf. They sound incredible! Don't get me wrong I love mariachis, but if im having dinner with a friend I want to be able to hear my friend.
