First time in and this Place is very nice. Had an appintment and Christy was already waiting for me at her station as sokn as i walked in. She makes sure to ask all question to give you what you want from shape length color etc. I love their great selection of gel nail polish. I would give it 5 stars if my nails were cleaned up from the little extra acrylic undersneath my nail and the extra gel on the sides. Over all i love my nails. I have been coming to this place for two years already. I keep coming back for their spa pedicures. I love their sea salt scrub and hot rocks. However, that is probably the only reason I will be returning back. I have gotten a manicure before, and they seem to always cut me. And when they realize I'm bleeding, they just smile and say "sorry." Their acrylic nails, was a waste of money. Every time I get acrylics done, they last 2-2.5 weeks no matter where I get them. This last time I got them in this location and by 4 days, they were beginning to feel loose. The type of loose that when I ran my fingers through my hair, my hair would get caught underneath the nail. By the 6th day, I had one nail fall off. Not sure how they only lasted one week because I have never had that problem before. Nonetheless, they have great pedicures and I will be returning for only their pedicures. read more

This is as good as it gets in San Fernando/Sylmar. If its your first time there you will get a complimentary service where else do you get that in sf? I feel like at other places you re in and out within 20 minutes for a Pedi and mani; "Coco" helped me and she is definitely a sweet heart I highly recommend her! Honestly i have gone to diffrent places and theres not a place that treats you like family, Vida spa has been so far my favorite place to go do my nails ,wax and facials. the receptionist greets every customer and offers everyone water or tea, Vivian the owner is always trying to see if each customer is satisfied if not she trys to her best to have you leave happy with the service. employees usually remember me by the second time im there and always tend to ask how my day is. parking is not the best but its okay, sometimes walking is good for us. read more

I went to the spa a few days ago and had my hair and eyebrows done by ANETT as I was recommended to her by a friend. She did a wonderdul job with my highlights and haircut. She also shaped my eyebrows beautifully. She threaded them and they came out very nice. I strongly recommend her if you are picky with hair and eyebrows you can trust her. I usually go here for my manicures and pedicures. They are pretty good at those. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated at a chair. I usually get my eyebrows done at Julie's Hair and Nails in San Fernando (they do a really great job!) but I was leaving for a trip this week so I went to Vida to get my eyebrows done. It wasn't my first time but I've never been ecstatic about the way they did my eyebrows but this time the manager (I think her name is Vivian) really messed up my eyebrows. I told her I just wanted to get them cleaned up and not thinned or anything but she made them thinner than I like or asked for and one end is thinner than the other. I went with my mom and she also got her eyebrows done and Vivian messed hers up too. So needless to say, DO NOT get your eyebrows done there! Also, Vivian is really pushy about using cash only though they except credit cards. I went there once and it was near closing time when I was finishing up. Vivian went up to me so I could pay and I gave her my card and she asked me if I had cash and she watches me as I took out my cash. She's very pushy about that. That's about it. read more

She doesn't know how to respectfully address people . She doesn't care about how your nails come out long as youre paying the money and out when she has her next customer coming in. Got my legs waxed ($20 for lower half) ... It was fast and painful... but sadly they double dip... They even keep the used sticks on the wax warmer... I didn't care about my legs, but I'd worry if it was my face or private areas... I won't go back for another wax-- or any services, I'm sure they cut corners everywhere. read more

I was looking for a place where I could get a brazilian wax close to my new home in Pacoima. I of course Yelped "brazilian waxing in Pacoima" and Vida Spa popped up. I read the reviews which weren't that great but something told me to check it out anyway. I called to make an apt and Jessica was able to fit us in right away. Because of some of the bad reviews, I drove there with my expectations low but knew I had to have an open mind. My husband came with me so he could get a mani while I was getting my wax. They took us in right away. So far so good, I went into the room with Sue who did my brazilian wax. She was great. Very thorough and quick. I got out and my husband had paid for me to get a mani pedi too. I had not had a pedicure in a year so I knew my pedi girl had her work cut out for her. Let me just tell you, my girl Tammy hooked it up! I got the callus remover for $6 more bucks and she tore my feet up! Skin was flyin everywhere! This is a good thing. I feel so fresh and so clean. I can't believe the customer service they offer there. This girl came for the second time to get her nails retouched and the owner Vivian told her to make an appointment to get them fix. When they ask someone else to fix it one of the ladies started to scream in her asian language and the girl went to the lobby crying. Wtf I would punch that lady if she talked to me like that. This place has really bad customer service. They lie about the wait time. They kept my daughter's feet soaking in water for almost an hour as they took other customers who came in after us. I've gone to Vida spa several times for massages. Sue is fantastic! Today I got my first facial and it was amazing. I love that you don't have to make an appointment. Last year, I was having a really bad day and was dying for a massage to wind down, I called several spas nearby and in LA and no one could take me. I got really lucky because Vida Spa is just a few minutes from my house. I called and they took me within the hour! They have several people available on hand. I got a mani/pedi and I learned the hard way not to come within the hour that they are closing, it was the worst mani/pedi I had ever gotten..I'm waiting for a while before I go back for that and give them another try but A+ for massages & facials....the prices are incredibly reasonable and totally worth it. They don't have a website but 1 hour massage runs about 50 as well as a facial. Call for an appointment or call and stop by! read more

Had a fill, with gel, paid extra $15.00 for the gel polish got it done on Sunday night, and it started chipping off the very next day, called to let them know, and they kindly said to go in again to redo the polish application at no extra charge. So what can I say? ... Just like when it comes to Mexican food, as long as it tastes good and the place is clean you'll see a decent review... The same goes for this nail salon. Most nail salons will try to milk the client for as many services they can get in your visit, and see as many clients as possible in a day... I've been going to nail salons for a loooong time now and it's the same scenario in each one. I've done walk-ins and appointments and nothing has changed in my experience. So unless you're going to some fancy schmansy salon and paying 30+ for a manicure only, I'm not expecting anything else than regular nail shop service with take your chance technicians, and "it's a shot" nail polish that is bound to chip after the 1st day! Sooooo, I normally don't pay for manicures because they NEVER last!! This place was nice, it was close to closing but I called ahead and they took me in for a spa pedicure about 30 min before closing. The girl who did my toes was nice, and she did a good job. She may have been in a hurry, but if I was working and close to going home and got a last minute client I would be trying to speed it up too! She still took her time and when I asked for a 15 min massage she didn't short change me! Got my full 15!! I'll go back again because it's a nice spot, and she didn't cut my toes!! So I wrote an extensive review and it didn't save. I'm just getting to the point now in this one. I've been coming here for a few years now. Anyway, I liked the decor (both versions), the locality, Vivian and my nail gal. I won't be coming here anymore and need to make sure you're ALL careful!!!! I decided to give myself my own pedicure a few days ago and when I took the polish off- I had what looked like fungus on the nail beds. I was horrified- I actually love my feet and try to take care of them. I went to the doctor today and found out that it is fungus (early/minor stage) and my doctor said it most likely came from tools not being properly sanitized at one of the salons I had gotten a pedicure at. I was shocked- this is the ONLY salon I come to and have been coming to for YEARS! My last visit to this place was equally disturbing and I just can't believe it took me so long to realize this. Maybe Vivian needs to stop worrying so much about costs or her shopping sprees and worry more about her customers!! My nail lady was doing my pedicure (after I had my acrylics removed) and Vivian came in and took the bowl. My lady just looked up at her in disgust and shook her head before going back to my pedicure. I asked her what was wrong and she didn't want to tell me but eventually, she mentioned that Vivian likes to save the acetone. She apparently takes the acetone bowl (if its clearish) and pours it back into the big bottle with a funnel and cotton to filter out the acrylic chunks. I was soo disgusted and my nail lady just looked at me and I could tell she instantly regretted telling me. The only reason I didn't say anything to Vivian that day was because my nail lady looked so scared after she told me and realized that I was mad. My lady kept reassuring me that she made sure to always get hers from a new bottle. I was grossed out and left before I was late to a group meeting. Even though I knew I should've said something, I was also more worried about getting my lady into trouble, especially since I know her situation at home. Now, though, after my nasty toes- I just want to make sure that people are aware of this. Now, you can take this with a grain of salt if you'd like but venting after my doctor's appt with my cousin, she told me that a receptionist had told her that Vivian liked to recycle the nail files. That the ladies would throw away their files and if Vivian saw them in the trash and they looked like they were still good, she'd take them out and put them back with the new ones. I remember my cousin had told me that a while back but I really didn't think Vivian would do something like that. Now, I'm definitely not so sure. I looked into reporting her to the BBB and I'm really not sure how to go about that without giving myself or my nail lady away. I've spent way too long on this review but point is, just make sure you're all careful and if you still want to continue coming here, then look into bringing your own tools. Now, I'll be doing my own pedicures thanks in large part to my mistrust in nail salons. I thought this place was the unlike any other! Vivian- if you read this because I know you do- you need to focus on your customers! You're so good at talking and making people feel as if you're their friend which is a great quality to have in a business owner. But that's just it!!!! You're running a business here and I understand you have to make money but it should NEVER be at the expense of your customers' HEALTH. Focus more on sanitizing your salon instead of saving a dime on acetone. And while we're at it, a lot of your employees are great- my lady certainly is- and many of them have difficult situations at home and trying to make a living working for you. It's not necessary to bring in your latest shopping spree to show them, which you've done a few times throughout the years while I've been there. It just comes off as braggy and I can only imagine what the ladies feel like. Take care of your salon, customers, and employees!! Sadly, you lost me as a long-time customer and I will never be able to recommend this salon to anyone again. read more

I was very unhappy with this place. I would get there a few minutes early just in case they were ready- yeah, sure. I'd always have to wait at least 10 minutes. Was there mostly for facials and every few minutes, either she would leave or someone would come and knock on the door with a question, or worse, to get something out of the room. As if that wasn't disruptive enough, I ended up with a stye because she managed to get some type of scrub or cream in my eye. Anyway, too bad for me, because I had hoped to try some of the other services.
