I'll start off with the positive my mom and I love Hannah and Susan for pedicures! Hannah gives amazing scrubs and delivers clean results. As for Susan, she remembers my requests without me having to mention it. Susan is efficient and professional. If you were thinking of getting a pedicure I would recommend our girls Susan and Hannah. 1. Back in 2023 I had gotten gel x done by Tina (the neon green gel x photo). Initially they weren't the best but nothing to actually complain about. The real issue was after I had SOAKED off my nails. I had discovered DEEP rings of fire, with overly filed nail plates. I couldn't put my hand under water for MONTHS from the pain. This caused me to not get my nails done anymore from the fear of having to go through something like this again. Stupidly, I decided to keep quiet because I thought one bad experience doesn't make or break a place. In hindsight the health of my nails shouldn't be compromised with "PROFESSIONAL" care. 2. Two years later I went in for a pedicure and manicure. At this point I only used regular polish on my nails. Susan was doing my pedicure as always, and I had requested for her to do my manicure as well. The salon was very packed due to the holidays so Tina said she was going to help out Susan and just do my nails. I had picked out a color but she was persistent on changing my mind to get gel. (obviously it's more commission if she does gel). I kept saying no, but it went on for so long that it felt as if she wasn't giving me an option anymore. I was put in an uncomfortable position and tried to explain what had happened to me prior (I excluded the part that it was her who messed me up to not embarrass her). I allowed her to work on my nails again but ONLY if she doesn't use an electric file. My nails came out ok. It was rushed and messy. The top coat wasn't applied fully which caused sticky patches on my nails (nude gel nails). I didn't notice until I got home. Again I left it alone and said to myself, STUPIDLY, that it's because they're busy for the holidays and shit happens. 3. Third times a charm Today was the last straw. My mom had gone in to get a pedicure from Hannah and had requested to also get Gel x, which Ivy did. Usually I do her gel x, but since she was getting a pedicure this was more convenient. Her nails were crooked, different shapes and lengths, and the polish was streaky and uneven. Once I got home and saw her nails, we went straight back to the salon. (Keep in mind my mom doesn't speak English well so I went to speak for her). As we walk in Julie (the manager) greeted us. After hearing our concerns she asked for us to sit until Ivy can help us out. Ivy comes back and starts filing one nail as she cuts two other nails. I tried stopping her because this wasn't a one or two nail issue. She didn't listen and continued to do her thing. They (ivy and julie) kept speaking Vietnamese or whatever as they're looking at my mom's nails. They kept measuring the side walls (which they over filed). As they were getting ready to blame it on her fingers (which they alwaysss do) I stepped in and said " are you going to start blaming it on her fingers? because its not her fingers that are crooked its her nails." which they didn't respond. They kept pushing for Ivy to redo her nails, which we refused. 1. after seeing her work why would my mom sit there and trust her for another hour 2. we had other appointments to get to. I asked them to please remove them. As ivy was finishing the removal, Julie came back and they continued to talk in their language and look at my mom's natural nails. The unprofessionalism from these two is DISGUSTING and I couldn't take it anymore so I asked "what is wrong with her fingers? which they replied quickly "nothing". I don't appreciate the lack of accountability from this salon, as if my mom has never had her nails done before. How come her nails never come out like that when i or other salons do it? Ivy was rushing which resulting in an aggressive and incomplete removal of the gel x. At the end we went to the front for our refund. Julie offered to pay us $35 back (because of the INCOMPLETE removal) instead of our $70 because "they did nothing wrong" or $70 voucher to come back. Again, they value your money over a positive experience. This is where i lost it. How are you going to say "we did nothing wrong". i replied asking if she thought the work presented was worth $70? and she stayed quiet. It's unacceptable. For $70, we'd expect more than half decent nails. Their attitude and lack of care shows their values as a salon. We ended up asking for our voucher for future pedicures. I have been going to this place for nearly 4 years now, I'm a little confused on their prices as I always get the same services done, pedicure and Gel X - with my pedi 99% of the time I do white nail polish and my nails a solid color even tho from time to time I designs such as french tips or zigzag lines. However lately I have noticed depending on who does my nails it's a different price, when I ask I either get no response and if I get a response I feel as I'm being gas lighted. Anyone having the same issue, also why do I feel like I'm always being pushed to pay via zelle and not allow to pay cash/card. I'm somewhat being pushed little by little to take my service elsewhere. Diva's Nails in Northridge is actually pretty good and consistent with their prices as well as have plenty of nail polishes to choose from. A friend of mine had recommended coming here for a pedicure. She suggested that I only book with Susan which is what I did. Susan is a lovely woman and very sweet. She had apologized for running 15 minutes late which I didn't mind at all. She did a poor job cleaning up the cuticle areas of my toe nails but did a fairly good massage. I find that unless you pay extra for a massage you barely get your feet or lower legs massaged. And that's every other place I've been to. The salon itself is very clean and everyone seems very happy working there. I was greeted by John (owner) when I first walked in. Julie (Owner) has different personalities depending on her mood. She can be very sweet one minute and very rude and abrupt the next minute. They do have nice massage chairs, beautiful bowls and a huge selection of gel nail polish colors and other colors. The reason for the 2 stars was the messy and uneven polish application. I don't understand how a nail tech could think this was ok and then take a fairly large tip at the end. It wasn't until I took pictures of my toes that I realized what a poor job she did. I didn't bother to say anything because if this is what my first experience was-I knew I wouldn't return. This place is tried and true. I've been going here sporadically over many years and I've tried other places that are more convenient or cheaper and/ or more expensive. But I always end up coming back here. Especially this past week when the latest place I tried left my nails too thick with gel x. Everyone who works here does high quality work. Idk if they train their staff at the highest level but the staff always gives me clean fresh looking nails THAT LAST. They also always have amazing recs for what my nail goals are (like growing them out, fill versus redo entirely, letting them breathe, etc). Highly recommend you try this place at least once. This place SERIOUSLY lacks customer service. I've given this salon several chances because it's close to home, but after today's experience, I won't be coming back. Appointments don't seem to matter here. Even if you arrive on time, they'll continue taking walk-ins and leave you waiting because they've overbooked. I've waited up to an hour past my scheduled appointment while they accommodated other customers. The pricing is also inconsistent. The same service has been different prices on different visits without any explanation. Make sure you ask for the price before your service because it seems to change from one visit to the next. As I'm writing this review, I'm still waiting for my pedicure to be finished. My technician stopped in the middle of my service because another customer walked in with an "emergency" - a chipped toenail. Instead of asking that customer to wait until my service was complete, they put my pedicure on hold for over 30 minutes to fix her nail. I was already in the chair and being serviced, yet somehow I was expected to wait. I understand that unexpected situations happen, but interrupting a paying customer's service to accommodate someone else is unacceptable. Respecting customers' time and honoring appointments should be the standard, not the exception. Unfortunately, after giving this place multiple chances, I've decided I won't be returning. read more

So disappointed. I've been a customer for 6 years but after yesterday's visit, I'm done. This review is solely about the owner/manager JULIE and the manicurist who didn't set our conversation right. I've tried to give Julie the benefit of the doubt in the past but after this 3rd incident of horrible customer service, I felt I need to write this to give caution to other customers. Julie can be nice but as soon as you question her about pricing or appointments, she becomes Cruella de Ville with her air of arrogance and condescending attitude (I know of a friend who has the same complaint who no longer goes there because of her). I went in for a gel manicure. The manicurist (I didn't get her name) told me it's $40. I did ask for a brochure but she didn't provide me any. When I inquired about bio gel manicure she said it's $55. Ok I happily obliged. I got my nails done. The color was okay but my nails looked great. No complaints. When I went to the front desk to pay. This was the interaction: Me: I got the bio gel manicure. It's $55 Julie: No, it's $60 Me: No, she said it was $55 Julie: No, it starts at $55 for short nail. Your nail is longer so it's $60. I heard her tell you. I was there. I was aghast. The manicurist who was behind Julie didn't chime in to clarify our conversation. She never once told me about the price difference with length of nails. And no, Julie, you weren't there. You were either at the front desk or taking your break in the back. YOU CERTAINLY WERE NOT THERE DURING OUR CONVERSATION. Julie's bullyish attitude towards the customers of "I'm right and you're wrong" is very unprofessional and downright rude. And this kind of communication is very manipulative. I felt scammed by her. And their lack of transparency when it comes to prices is suspicious. What Julie should've said (especially to a loyal customer) was, "I'm sorry it's actually $60. But I'll give it to you this time for $55 since that's what the manicurist quoted you. Moving forward it's $60". That's what's an honorable and professional owner/manager would do. The previous instance was when I had made an appointment. I waited 30 minutes beyond my appointment time (they tend to double book clients). I inquired about why she booked me when she had nobody available. Needless to say, she made me feel like I was in the wrong and, you guessed it, she's always right. Julie shouldn't be treating loyal customers so horribly. Alas, I'll give my business to some other nail salon more deserving of my respect and patronage. Be warned on your next visit! read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but this experience was too upsetting to stay quiet. I wanted to do something nice for my mom and surprised her with a pedicure at Top Nails in Granada Hills. I Zelled Julie (the owner who also calls herself the manager) $30 ahead of time to cover the cost. What should've been a relaxing treat for my mom turned into a total disaster. From the moment my mom walked in, she was treated poorly. She was in and out in about 15 minutes--for a pedicure. That's not just rushed, that's disrespectful. She left with her toenails still messed up, and to make it worse, Julie didn't even bother to give her the basic plastic sandals that are supposed to protect your fresh polish. Instead, she forced her to put her own shoes back on, completely ruining whatever was left of the rushed job. When I reached out to Julie to explain how upsetting this was, she didn't even consider offering a refund. After putting my mom through that, she couldn't be bothered to return the $30 I sent in good faith. This place clearly doesn't care about customer experience or basic decency. If you're not spending big or don't look like "money," they treat you like you're not worth their time. It's sad and frustrating. As a daughter and a mom myself, I just wanted to give my mom a small moment of self-care--and instead, she walked out feeling embarrassed and upset. There are plenty of other salons that know how to treat their clients with kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend taking your time and money elsewhere. read more

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at Top Nails in Granada Hills. I had specifically booked an appointment with Henry for my pedicure (who was absolutely incredible--no complaints there) and also made a appointment for myself with May and a appointment for my daughter with a nail tech named Susan. When I arrived on time, I was told that May, was not available and that I had to see someone else. I expressed that I preferred to reschedule, and decided to go ahead with just my pedicure with Henry as planned. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Susan never did my daughter's nails as scheduled--Tom did instead. While getting my pedicure, I was convinced to also get my nails done, with the assurance that if I didn't like them, there would be no charge. That wasn't my motivation--I always pay for services--but the process turned into a nightmare. The nail tech who did my nails kept hurting me, and when I brought it up to him, he dismissed my concerns and even made fun of me. Now, every single one of my nail beds feels bruised and sore. The job was rushed, painful, and sloppy. I asked for a gel job instead of the Biogel because I was planning on coming back May with my regular nail stylist (May) but as I was getting my nails done, Julie informed me they were charging me for Biogel regardless--even though I never received Biogel just gel. On top of all this, my nails look terrible. My fingers are in pain, and my nails are damaged. I had high hopes coming here and expected much better professionalism and customer care. Sadly, I won't be coming back. This has been the second time I booked May where they won't let me get her so what's the point of scheduling an appointment and on top of that I'm an extremely generous tipper. read more
