I called him on the phone asking about something specific and he said he would be happy to help. So I came to the store and sure enough, dude went above and beyond to help me. Very kind. Very patient. Very helpful. As for their selection, holy moly! They have the BEST selection of any retro game store I have been to. Every console and accessory is secure and shrink wrapped. They have accessories galore for all systems. Their prices are VERY reasonable. Very competitive. This store is a GEM. Do not sleep on this place. Bring your friends and family who are into games. You won't be disappointed.

I am not knowledgab about games really but was looking to buy a gift and was pretty stumped until Chris, the really sweet worker there, saw me looking a bit confused and offered guidance. He was really patient and super charismatic which made me feel comfortable and welcomed. He was super attentive with me as well, spending a lot of time with me and I was pretty impressed that he was still able to also acknowledge and assist the other customers who were coming in simultaneously as he helped me. He really knows his stuff and offered me a lot of helpful information and made a wonderful suggestion that ended up being a total hit as my gift! I even obnoxiously called after I left with a couple more questions and he was again very nice, helpful and patient on the phone as well. This place will definitely be a go to for me and I will be seeking out Chris for his expertise and friendliness! Don't hesitate to stop by and definitely make sure you ask for him : )

The previous Yelp business posting (which has many reviews, including mine) was incorrectly marked as being permanently closed after Covid. Tried to get it reinstated, but it looks like this business listing was created instead...so...putting another review out there. As usual, the interaction and purchase experience was good. GameStop is on a tough business model: even with video gaming becoming bigger than film, tv, and music combined, the move to digital from physical discs has greatly reduced the opportunity to buy and sell used games, which has historically been its bread-and-butter. Plus with Amazon.com also being in this space on-line, it really squeezes competitors and suppliers alike. It's been a while since I last visited, with my annual membership expiring earlier this year. It no longer makes sense for me to have it, with the infrequent purchases (mainly because it takes me a really long time to finish a game), and the discounts being minimal. The store is still arranged similarly to what I remember: sections for Playstation, XBox, and Nintendo. The new and used games were kinda mixed together, but ordered alphabetically. And pricing was definitely based to match Amazon...any sale items were the same price on Amazon. I appreciated saving a little money on the one used game that I found that I was interested in (AC-Shadows set in feudal Japan). The associate found the physical copy easily, applied the appropriate discounts, and we were on our way.

First, let me talk about their movie collection. Their DVD selection is awesome (thanks to the…read moreowner who has made that aspect a pet project). Most movies are found alphabetically. Along another wall are additional films sorted by "Hero." The "hero" is the common Hindi film term for the male lead. Tip: If you can't remember the name of a film , at least remember the name of the "hero," say, Sunil Dutt, or Raj Kumar. Heroines, while pretty (often stunning) won't be of any use as the films are invariably associated with the hero. The collection is immense. If you are into old films especially the classic black and white ones, then this place is your Mecca if you will. There are some Bengali films and some Punjabi as well. Like other places you can order titles if you can't find them. The music section is good. Not great, despite "music" being in the title. Yes, they have a good selection of CDs for most categories of Indian music, but searching for particular artists is not always easy as it is usually out of order to some extent. Furthermore the depth of titles for specific artists or genres is not what I'd expect or have seen in a few other places. In all fairness, the size of the store doesn't lend to a great amount of volume, and yet in reality it packs quite a bit for it's size. When in doubt or confused, ask one of the salespeople. Most of the time they are helpful, and one of the ladies in particular is relatively knowledgeable. If you're looking for instruments, understand that they carry "Bina." Bina is a Delhi based manufacturer that makes nearly every type of Indian instrument...from sitars, to sarods to tablas. Price wise, Bina intruments are relatively inexpensive to modest pricing depending on the level of quality of the instrument. (a student level sitar with decent finishing may cost around $500.00 or so) If you're looking to learn to play an intrument, then the intruments carried here aren't a bad way to start. However, if you are a decent musician with some experience and are looking for a good quality instrument, then I suggest you go online and search for better manufacturers...but expect to pay accordingly :) Anyway, Ziba is a fun place to browse and shop if you're a Hindi film nut or want to find some good music. Oh, another tip: if you're thinking of starting out into the strange world of Bollywood films, understand that suspension of disbelief is a term that probably was originally meant for these films in particular. If you ever had an odd appreciation for Busby Berkley girls and their elaborate costumes and dancing then you should feel quite at home watching a Bollywoood film - especially some of the older ones from the 50's and 60's. Along with the heros I mentioned above, Dev Anand was good if you appreciate the Bohemian. As for heroines, well I'm prejudiced and am an enormous fan of Nutan (first Miss India BTW!). Suchitra Sen was stunning, but I'd go for her Benagali films such as "Pothey Holo Deri" as Bengali was her native tongue and she often appeared stilted in her Hindi roles. The one exception to this is "Devdas" which is wonderful. As for music, while Lata Mangeshkar is rightfully lauded, Geeta Dutt is often overlooked.

But either way, I feel like most of them are heaidng towards the trend of being more of a nerdy merchandise or gift shop than anything, which was clear with this one as well. Don't get me wrong, it's a super clean and well organized store with probably the strongest AC I felt in the mall, but an entire wall, most of the back wall and a chunk of the third wall and the shelves and tables in the middle, was everything except video games. Mostly collectibles, figurines, plushies, and other home goods and trinkets that are themed after comic book series, cute characters, anime, and of course, video game IP. There are still used and new games you can get here, but the stock isn't as big as you can imagine. Also, a bit grim that it's $40 for a used game that isn't that highly rated or great of a game, but goes to show the market for physical media. Pricy but what can you do? Also a side note, my review for this mall included a not so great moment with someone being ableist, xenophobic, and pretty rude, but I know I can't explicitly mention details and rant about it since it probably will be a Yelp violation of ToS, but that interaction happened in this Game Stop if that means anything.
