    Close up of the court

I recently attended my first SDSU men's basketball game at Viejas Arena, and it was a blast! I live near USD, so I took the trolley from the Morena station. I left around 5:30 PM for a 7:30 PM tip-off, and the trolley was already packed with fans. It's about a 20-minute ride to the SDSU stop, followed by a 10-minute walk to the arena. The arena is great and has a perfect collegiate atmosphere. My seats were in Section R, Row 8, which felt very close to the court. Pro-tip: When the game starts, all SDSU fans stand until the Aztecs make their first basket! The fans are incredibly passionate and the student section brings so much energy. I've also seen Cirque du Soleil here in the past and enjoyed the venue then as well. While I didn't try the food, it's your typical stadium fare. I'd definitely recommend the trolley to avoid game-day traffic!

Great night with live music. The arena and staff are great and it is easy to get in and out of the arena. Security check was simple and quick as well. There are plenty of options for food and drinks, there was a food truck inside that was very popular (the line was long most of the night) love that Caked cookies and brownies are there too. We parked across campus and walked over, not sure if parking was less or not ($25) but we got a nice walk and did not have to fight as much traffic to get home. Sound for the 1st act was a little wonky but got better with the next and amazing for Charlie Puth. Just beware if you do not care for stairs too much.... Depending on where you seats are you may be climbing bit to get to your seats and out of the venue

I came here for a concert the other night, and it was a pretty good experience! Plenty of parking options close by $45, and plenty of signage so you can find the parking easily as well. For someone unfamiliar to the campus layout, it might be a little hard to find, so it might be helpful to have signs around campus for that like they did for parking. The actual stadium is clean and well kept. There really wasn't a bad seat in the house. Sound was good, and the visuals were good, too! The vendors at the snack bar weren't necessarily the most friendly, but the lines were long, so i get it. All in all, a good experience.

VIEJAS ARENA @ SDSU Parking is available at P7 or P12 for the closest lot, there is a charge per day if you are not a resident near SDSU and need parking. This arena is extremely popular among SDSU students. It's home to our basketball games, and it also hosts concerts throughout the year. The space is huge, always lively, and I've really enjoyed coming here over the past four years as a student. I recently went to a basketball game, SDSU versus Troy University, and getting in was super easy. Security is organized, and you just need to have your ticket ready. Inside, there are food options everywhere: hot dogs, pizza, and even stands from smaller local businesses. They also sell beer and merch. When you go inside, it gets pretty hot with how many people are in the arena so a jacket isn't 100% needed. It's a big venue and fits hundreds of people. I loved the vibe, the atmosphere was energetic, and everything felt really clean. The bathrooms are located around the outside, so it's easy to find them whether you're coming in or heading out. Overall, I've had great experiences here. I've even seen Don Toliver and SZA perform, and both concerts were amazing. If there's an artist you like performing here, or if you're catching a basketball game, I definitely recommend stopping by.

The event is using Yondr pouches, so this is my only photo

Whoever designed this arena never had to sit in those horrible bench seats before, or they never would have designed the top part this way. It's not even comfortable for a small child, so a normal adult will not have a good time sitting here. You've been warned, so pay more for the actual seats! We mostly come here when we win tickets, because it's not our first choice. We prefer the Open Air a little further away on campus, if we have a choice. Both venues normally allow small snacks in soft packages and a sealed bottle of water. But certain events can change the rules, so be warned. The Ghost show was using Yondr pouches to block cell phone reception, so I figured it wouldn't allow any outside food or water. And I was right. Snack bar is the same basic one as Open Air, but seems to offer a few more items. The souvenir soda cup isn't free refills, but offers $5 refills. So maybe share it with a friend. Parking is the same as Open Air, and that can be challenging when both venues are operating on the same day. So give yourself a little extra time to park nearby, if you don't want to pay the $30+ for a campus garage.

The Viejas Arena is a great venue for different events like basketball games, concerts and even graduations. Pros: this arena is on campus at Sdsu and is easily walkable as well as being close to prime parking lots. I've only ever come to the arena to watch an Sdsu basketball game and I've always had good experiences. The security here is strong and prevalent. You can enter the arena almost anywhere 360° no matter what side of campus you come from the inside is very big and offers variety of food and merchandise. I am not purchased any food or merchandise, but I would think the prices would be on the more expensive side. I've heard about concerts being held here and I've heard good things, but I've personally not seen a concert here. Cons: if you are going to an event, be sure to either Uber or get there early to park at parking lot seven as that's the only ways to get to the arena fairly quickly. And alternative would be to take the trolley but you'd have to walk a little bit to get the arena but it's not too much of a walk but keep in mind that those are the best ways to get to the arena so plan ahead. Verdict: Viejo Arena is a classic place to see events, sports games and concerts. The location of this place is very good for anybody nearby and allows for easy access through alternate ways like Uber, trolley, and driving. I'd recommend any of my friends and family to come here if they can.

I just came back from seeing Ice Cube at the Viejas Arena and he was amazing ;p This was my first visit and overall I felt it was a positive experience. It's a circular stadium so easy to find your seats and most seats in the house have a good view given the elevation. There is a big difference though from the front row versus the back benches given how many rows there are. The rows are very close to together so leg space was limited. There were ample restrooms throughout the venue which were cleaned throughout the whole event and minimal wait times. They have several concession stands serving drinks and food (popcorn, hot dogs, and nachos) but grossly overpriced. I was worried about parking but there was a lot right next to the arena. We arrived 30 minutes before and had no issue finding parking. From the parking lot, it is a short walk to the front of the venue. It was $31 though. TIP #1: when returning from your event, I recommend you take the outdoor staircase down to the parking lot rather than walk over the bridge. It takes you to the 2nd level of the parking lot and then you can go up to your parking level using the lot's stairs. The elevators get backed up from everyone trying to go down to their parking lot. We felt the staff did a great job directing traffic out of the parking lot. We were out within 5 minutes. TIP #2: do not bring a purse. The maximum size allowed is 4.5x6.5 in which is very small and they will make you take your purse back to your car if it's bigger than that.

Watching basketball on TV is cool... but watching it LIVE is a whole different experience. The energy. The sounds of sneakers. The crowd reactions you feel in your chest. Pulled up to a SDSU women's game and honestly? Way more fun than expected Tickets were so affordable I grabbed some for as low as $8 Most games run $8-$30, plus special promos where kids & youth get in FREE They even do: * Poster giveaways * T-shirt throws * Crowd games * Family-friendly vibes without losing competitiveness If you love basketball on TV, do yourself a favor and watch it live at least once. Tip for thought: Parking a bit rough but there's a paid garage parking or you could find street parking

I really liked this venue. I came here to see duran duran. Great show.Great seats, great time, and some great memories made. the parking is very reasonable even though you walk a little bit. A nice walk after a good concert is always a good thing.

    Aztecs win!
    Bruski N.

Always great to attend an event at Viejas Arena. Especially when the Aztecs win. The arena is spacious with easy access to food vendors and restrooms. Parking is tough unless you are willing to pay $35 (an increase from last year of $20).

I graduated from state over 20 plus years ago. I've only been to VA two times. Once for my own graduation and today for my nephew's graduation. But when I graduated it was called Cox Arena. Naming rights changed in 2009. I have to say SDSU has a well kept arena. For graduation ceremonies they kept the line pretty organized and there were plenty of food and merchandise vendors on hand. I definitely need to catch a basketball game or concert here sometime. Looks like it would be a blast.

This was about one hour before showtime. People just starting to arrive.
    Joe T.

I have been here for graduations and for concerts. This is a really good venue for a large event to be hosted. Almost every spot inside here is a good spot to see the stage. The only negative thing is probably the seats are a little too close together. Other than that, the staff are usually very friendly and restrooms are clean and accessible and awesome speaker system. There's plenty of vendors to buy food and drinks from as well.

    Section G Row 10 seats 1-2

My husband and I attended a Cage the Elephant concert here and we had a blast. This venue is on the smaller side and any seat looked like a decent seat, there really is no nosebleed seats. I paid for parking ahead of time through LAZ and it was $31 for SDSU garage 12. We arrived around 5pm and were able to enter early through a VIP entrance. From the parking garage, we took an elevator I think it was the 8th level to take a concrete pedestrian bridge to the arena. It was a super quick walk, like 3 minutes. The arena had your typical concert snacks like nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, chips, and beverages. There was a canopy selling fresh cookies and another canopy selling fresh pizza. Our assigned seats were section G row 10 seats 1-2. They were pretty good seats that had a close side profile view of the center stage. However, there was light equipment that blocked our view partially which really sucked since the seats were expensive and did not indicate an obstructed view. I think this was due to the cage the elephant's own setup and not exactly the arena's fault but still.

Cup of water, only 5$, I sell it to you for cheap! Yes, I will give you ice, if you ask.

Regardless, it is generally a great place to catch a show. Through the years, I have seen many great shows here including Flogging Molly, The Shins, Prince, Interpol, and many others. I hadn't been in a couple years, but last week my husband and I went to see The Human Leave, Soft Cell, and Alison Moyet (Yaz). It was an incredible show. Starting out, there are a few things that I dislike about the venue. First, because it is on a college campus, parking can be difficult and you are basically forced into the $30 paid parking garage. Also, I was suffering from a recent sports injury, making the trek across campus to the theater a bit of a task. In the past, the lines for swag and drinks have been nearly impossible, though, this time, they were much improved. Finally, the trek to the ladies' room is a bit far depending on your seat. Also, it is not a large restroom and the line goes slowly, However, it is clean. On the flip side, there are a lot of positive points to this venue. The location is generally decent as it is not far from town. Despite the crowds coming in for shows, it doesn't take too long to get in and out of the parking lots. The event staff consists of many college students working concessions or ushering, and they are very friendly. It is really a nice, open, outdoor, relaxing venue. There is not a bad seat in the house (as many other reviews state). I have been in front, in back, and in the middle. I have been able to see and hear the show very well from each of my seats. It has also been my experience that the crowd has been generally a well-behaved, polite group, though I guess you can't alway count on that. All in all, it is a great place to catch a show, especially during the beautiful San Diego summer months.

Applying and handling admissions can be stressful and overwhelming, but Michelle made the process so much easier. She went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything and never made me feel like a burden. Her communication, support, and dedication honestly made such a huge difference in my experience. Thank you, Michelle, for your kindness, reliability, and for genuinely caring about students. Your help did not go unnoticed and I truly appreciate everything you did for me.

If I could give this school negative stars I would…read more Except! Oh except for two absolutely wonderful people who went above and beyond for me as a student. Anytime I had something good happen for me at this school, or felt like someone cared about my learning or my career prospects it was due to the wonderful staff who worked directly with me as a student. The first was Cassie, one of the professors in the CST program. Cassie truly embodies the idea of lead how you would wish to be led. Every day in class she greeted us with patience, kindness, and an endless enthusiasm for what she was teaching. There was no question I could not ask of her, no issue I could not bring up that she didn't give her full attention to. If I needed help I knew I could rely on her for guidance, honesty and encouragement. She really is a marvel of a teacher and probably the best thing to have happened to our class as a whole. I knew multiple students who were close to abandoning the program altogether until she stepped in to teach us. Is was an honor to have been her student. And the second was Jesse in career services. I swear that man carried the whole of my career on his back when I first graduated. He made himself available to me anytime I had a question and had my back through thick and thin. He was an absolute light in the dark for when I felt lost and overwhelmed with the process of applying to different hospitals and the advice and encouragement he gave me on MULTIPLE occasions made all the difference in the world. I can honestly say without his help and guidance I would not have gotten the job I did. I am forever indebted to his unfailing concern and care for the wellbeing and success of his students. Everything else sucked though.
