I stopped in for a quick lunch on a Friday, as I'd noticed they have a vegetarian pho (with veggie broth; $13.85 plus tax). My pho came out in about 10 minutes. The broth was nicely salted and flavourful, amped up to even better heights with their homemade chili oil. Inside, you get various veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery) and what seemed like steamed tofu. Good portion of nicely cooked rice noodles. Overall, tasty veggie pho. read more

Tried this new restaurant that just opened. They took over the spot where the 9th Ave Grill was. My coworkers and I have been waiting for this place to open for months. The food wasn't bad. I ordered the grilled beef and spring roll with vermicelli. The beef wasn't grilled the way that most places would grill it. I think grilled pork would be better. I like it just a little charred so they can work on that. Prices are reasonable for the west side. Portions are good and service fine. The owner is very nice. Food could come out a little faster but they are still new and they have time to improve. There aren't that many good restaurants in this area so I'm thrilled that this place opened. read more

Was very curious about this little restaurant close to home so thought I'd treat myself to some pho and chicken wings. I had been eyeing their chicken wings for some time now and I was in Vietnam last year so I was really hoping these would live up to the fabulous wings over there. Don't get me wrong their pho is great - 4/5 for the flavourful broth and tender beef sliced nicely. They give lots of healthy looking basil, sprouts and lime on the side which I appreciate. Sadly it was the chicken wings that really fell short here. For $8 I got five sad looking fried to death wings on a plate. Two of the wings weren't whole as if they were almost like a bone had broken and this was the meat that had clung in and happened to get fried. There was no seasoning on the wings either so I drenched them in some Chili oil for some flavour. They were also overcooked and dry. I eat chicken wings more than the average person I think and I can tell the difference between a good product and a shitty one and this chicken was not a healthy it happy chicky. I wish they'd use a better provider for the chicken because then they'd have more flavourful meat and a much better dish to provide people! Overall not bad overall and I'll be back for more pho and other dishes. read more

Happy to have this gem in the 'hood. Second time here since they opened. Have had the pho tai, the spicy beef noodle, Vietnamese spring rolls and house roll. It gets busy and they do a good job of getting to everyone and clearly care about their customers and their food. For me, the spicy beef noodle soup wasn't that spicy but there's hot sauce and chilli oil - can't easily take heat away so I'm good with that. Since they opened, some prices have gone up a nominal amount but I still think it's reasonable, especially given the location I would like a little more Thai basil (suppose I could ask), and also some fresh Thai chilli (again I should probably ask). The house roll was good - a classic Vietnamese spring roll with basically a fresh salad roll wrapped around it. They deliver for free, and take all major cards. They don't have a liquor license at this time, but the hot tea is pretty good. read more

Haven't have Vietnamese for a long time. So glad we found this place. Fresh, flavourful, authentic. Almost gourmet, but not pretentious. We had the Pho Tai and Grilled lemongrass chicken with noodles. Broth was very tasty. Noodles had sprinkle of peanuts and fried onions - contributed to the textures and taste. Extra kudos for them having a bottle of sanitizer on each table. PS. inspired to eat Vietnamese again after watching Michael Portillo's Great Asian Railway Journeys on Knowledge dot ca. Had the grilled lemongrass chicken with rice and grilled pork on vermicelli for takeout. Called in and was ready in 15 minutes, friendly service and when I got there at 12:15 on Sat the tables were already 90% full. Good patronage for a sort of off track location. Will return again! read more

Stumbled in to take shelter from the cold rain. This place is great! This place is clean and well lit. The server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the beef noodle soup. First impression of the soup base: Unami without the heavy/obvious use of MSG. It was very well balanced-very strong beef flavour but also light and tangy. Left the restaurant feeling satisfied and not sluggish (which is what happens to me at some Asian restaurants). The slices of beef were tender and flavourful. I highly recommend this place. Came here with my wife to try it out. The service was super friendly. I ordered Pho Dac Biet which was very flavourful. The wife had Pho Ga and said it was the best she's had. We ordered the spring rolls too and they were delicious. Will definitely come back and try their other soups read more

I don't usually write reviews but I couldn't finish the $14 bowl of vegetable pho I ordered. Aside from the broth being quite sugary and finding red onion skins in my pho, they had also filled the bowl with green cabbage that had turned yellow and there were very few vegetables and a total of three small pieces of tofu. I don't want to be harsh but it looked like they dumped their compost into a bowl of pho broth. read more

This place is new so I thought I would stop by for a quick snack. Lots of choices on the menu But since it was late in the evening and I was more curious than hungry I just had some salad rolls. They were very fresh and tasty and particularly delicious when dipped in the sweet peanut sauce. I will certainly go back soon for a full meal. The staff were very friendly - family run business. I read a few reviews saying they've found their view place, my opinion differs. I had the house special noodle soup and the fried spring roll. The soup lacked flavor and for a 'house special' I assumed there would be more tripe and beef brisket and not just small globs of beef brisket and 1 beef ball.
