If you're anywhere near The Bowl, stop what you're doing and go. This place is the real deal. From…read morethe moment you walk in, you're hit with that comforting aroma of rich broth simmering for hours -- the kind that lets you know they actually care about the food they're serving. I ordered the hot bowl pho, and it was perfection. The broth was deep, flavorful, and not greasy at all -- balanced just right. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the meat was tender enough to melt in your mouth. You can tell everything is fresh, down to the crisp bean sprouts and fragrant basil. First time hating short ribs in my pho and it was amazing! Can't wait to go back and try the oxtail. The service? Top-notch. Everyone was friendly and quick without making you feel rushed. And the portions? Huge. You definitely get your money's worth. Whether you're craving comfort food or introducing someone to pho for the first time, The Bowl is the move. Easily my new go-to spot -- 10/10 recommend.

Not good! 1…read more Ordered Vietnamese Iced Coffee with sweetened condensed milk. They served it pre-made in a to-go cup, mixed, and pre-brewed. No phin in sight. When I asked to have it done correctly they brought out a phin, over a glass, with sweetened condensed milk in bottom of brewing glass, but mostly already brewed and coffee in the glass that was lukewarm. Perhaps they do not know how to make it. Flavorless. 2. Ordered pork and shrimp egg rolls. Order came out in about 3 minutes - evidently not fresh, and they were also greasy -- see pic. 3. Ordered pho broth with noodles. Not much broth and all the noodles were actually clumped together (had to pull them apart) - see pic. Broth had a one-note, overly cinnamon flavor. As seen from pic, no space left for broth because so many noodles. Cheap way of serving food. 4. Ordered pork and sausage fried rice. Came out very quickly (evidently pre-made). Was very greasy and had an "off" flavor. Came at a non-busy time, and had food that was not prepared well. Will not return to this restaurant. I prefer Pho Tay Do, as do many Richmond-area chefs.

Their menu is typical Viet/Pho. Opted for crispy veggie spring rolls to start - they were excellent! Perfect texture and great flavor! The dip that came with them was awesome! I'm not into peanutty sauces, nor hoison and this was a sort os soy sauce type thickened sauce with nice flavor. On to the entrée - I got chicken pho - Again, great! The accoutrement that came with it was "ok" not as fresh as I'd like, but still worked for my needs. But the broth was so very tasty! The chicken was decent as well. Definitely would come back here... it was pretty good!

Go here for the pho. Seriously. All the broths are different and just absolutely delicious…read more The Thai appetizers, however, are a swing and a miss. Even the Thai sauces were...wrong. Also, their hoisin sauce was a cheap offbrand and fish sauce/vinegar dipping sauce was way too sweet. I don't understand why they bothered to add the Thai stuff at all...their extensive Vietnamese menu includes much, much more than the usual pho and bahn mi choices and it is all very very good ( we brought a large group, so we all got to taste a wide variety of dishes). Our water glasses were refilled a couple times, and all staff were friendly and helpful. Can't wait to try the take-home flan we ordered!

I am rarely able to enjoy a midday meal and a shot and a beer, but, guess what?…read moreI showed up here, Pho Saigon. The funny thing (well, to me it's funny) is that I was DoorDashing a couple years ago and picked up orders here three or four times. Each time I was impressed by the simple, clean, quiet ambiance of the spot. I told myself, "Bobby, you need to come back with a couple bucks and try it!" Here I am, on a walk on a not-too-hot day in a sweltering July 2026. Beer was my main goal, Maker's Mark on the left, neat. Ayush is a friendly, smiling, welcoming server. He's taking good care of me (so far). If I was you: Chicken Bahn Mi, dip the sandwich in the soup, sip a Bourbon , and Guzzle an Allagash (on tap here). Next week the owners are renovating, so take your time getting here...

The staff are friendly and try to be personable, which you don't typically find at businesses like this, so that's a plus. There are many good options here including oxtails, but on this visit I opted for the chicken pho and crab Rangoon. The Rangoon were small but yummy and you got about five of them with sweet chili sauce. I'd order those again. The pho was tasty and broth was good. Overall, this is a good option in the west end for pho and other Vietnamese dishes.
