I'm shocked that this restaurant didn't have more customers! The service was amazing and the food was delicious. These days it's hard to get a yummy pho for less than $18-20. This pho was both delicious and also only $14- a portion that my partner and I both could easily share. The interior of this spot is also quite lovely :). I hope to see this place thrive!! We live nearby and its the closest Vietnamese option so we have given it a couple trys, but will not be dining there again. The food is, kindly, unexceptional, plated poorly, and ambiance poor. Half the dining area is in shadow. Feels like take out is their priority as opposed to restaurant service. Honestly the worst pho in the 804 area. Service wasn't good it took them forever to come to us and it took them almost a hour to get two bowls of pho out with maybe 8 people total in here. The other 6 already had food. Pho doesn't have any taste to it and our noodles came in a big clump. Spring rolls were good but the peanut butter sauce tasted premade like the broth. This was an average Vietnamese restaurant. The pho was about average, specifically the the broth. I wish it was more savior and salty like other places, but it wasn't bad. Since this is one of few places in the area to get pho it will make do if you are craving it. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean, the lighting was a little dim. This is the only pho spot in Midlothian/Chesterfield area to my knowledge. Anytime I am in the mood for some pho and don't feel like driving to the west end this is my spot. They give you a lot of food and you will certainly have leftover. The owner is the absolute sweetest lady ever. We did takeout from here and I can't say enough on how delicious it is! While I've never been to Vietnam, I feel like this food is the real deal! The fried rice is plentiful and unlike other types of fried rice, stays good for leftovers the next day. It doesn't dry out at all. The pho is amazing! It's not the most appealing take out preparation with the raw meat included, but it's so good! I do recommend that you heat the broth up before you mix it to make sure it's nice and hot to cook the meat. 3.5 stars TL;DR: Service was great, food was just okay. I'm pretty picky about my pho, but we decided to give this place a try. We came in at an off time, but there were still several tables full. The service was very friendly and attentive. Food: Pho with round eye and brisket: The flavor of the broth was pretty good, and the texture of the noodles were perfect. I'm not a huge fan of cilantro already in my pho, but I'll just ask for it without next time. Summer rolls: were much smaller than I expected, but just okay Fried spring rolls: Probably our favorite thing. It was loaded with meat, which you don't see often. Sriracha wings: They were very bland, and I couldn't really taste any spice to it. Broken rice with Chicken and Pork: The pork was so good, but the chicken was a very strange texture. Rubbery but also didn't taste like chicken. Might just get the pork chop next time. Not the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to, but good enough to satisfy a craving. Probably one of our new favorite places to eat in the area. We have been here a few times and the food is always great. Every time we have come we have gotten a seat right away. There are two rooms but it seems like most people are seated in the first room where the bar is. The bar is in the center of the building. I have seen people sitting there but it seems like they are waiting for their food to come not just hanging out. I have had a dish from almost sections. Really enjoy the steamed dumplings. The vermicelli bowls is a great dinner choice. The meat is cut real thin but the whole dish will fill you up. The food comes out so quick it is great. I really wanted to like this place, the staff were so nice but the food was not good at all. The spring rolls were puny, 50% rice paper. I ordered the veggie and tofu pho and I don't what that broth was made of, but it wasn't pho broth. It tasted like watered down fish cake broth that I sometimes make in the wintertime. My friend's beef pho tasted like chicken broth. They serve no cilantro, which is fine with me but disappointing to most people I'm sure. No sauté sauce aka chili pepper oil. That was a huge bummer also. Their veggies were fresh though, which is about the only good thing I can say about the food I tried. This place used to be so good back in the day. I used to enjoy the P1 (beef pho) and the appetizer platter, and the broken rice. Maybe it is the new management, but it definitely is not the same. When we had walked in, there was a weird smell in the establishment and not much attendance (but it isn't the most popular place anyway). The beef pho was just okay, the beef was definitely chewier than I remember, and there weren't many onions in the pho. The appetizer platter was mediocre, chicken satay was not tender at all. The soft spring rolls are veggie only which wasn't disclosed on the menu online. (Other places put some shrimp in them.) Peanut dipping sauce was yum though. Pho was not a flavorful as I would have liked and they send the eye round steak home with you RAW. I realize that's how the soup is made, but it seems like a liability for takeout when the broth is going to be lukewarm by the time it gets to its destination. Not once, but twice the peanut sauce for my summer rolls was spoiled. The lids were domed from the pressure built up from the expired sauce. My recent visit to a favorite restaurant was disappointing. I haven't been here in a year and wow things have gone downhill fast. We came at 2pm and still had very slow service to receive our food. The Goi Cuon (soft roll) featured wilted lettuce and a halved shrimp, while the Vermicelli had an unusual taste, as if the water was tainted. The fish sauce lacked depth, and my bowl was predominantly noodles with underwhelming pork slab 1/2 cooked with some weird slime bbq sauce. It included sparse old lettuce and carrots - barely any, but no sprouts. Basically a heap of noodles and thin slab of questionable old meat. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my meal, which is unusual for me as I usually devour vermicelli bowls. I ate 5% of it and couldn't finish it because it was just nasty. Prices have increased to $14, but the quality and quantity of ingredients have diminished. I left feeling dissatisfied and unsure of the cause - perhaps a change in the kitchen staff. They have added more road signs to give the ambiance of a Chinese takeout with Covid shields. It seems the waitress and kitchens first priority was the take out orders they had stacking up on the bar while diners actually sitting got to wait until those were done. There's a new owner at this restaurant now. They decided to keep the name of the place and even the layout and the menu is the same from the previous owner. What's different about this restaurant is how the food taste now! Whoever is the new chef is; I praise him for making better food! They have a good variety of Pho (soup). You can choose the different meats and customize whatever you want in the Pho. When my food arrived, I took my spoon and tried the Pho broth and it was tasty! I didn't even need to add a lot of hoisin sauce or extra ingredients because it tasted delicious alone. I still enjoyed their broken rice dish. It comes with rice and grilled pork chop and pickled veggie radish. Great to eat on warmer days. I also got a taro bubble tea, which no complaints there. If half a star was an option I would leave it. I just had the worst experience at this restaurant... I used to go here when I was a kid so I decided to revisit it as an adult. I brought one of my friends with me to try it for the first time. She did not enjoy her meal... when I asked to have it replaced or to take it off the bill, The workers there both said that they could not do that and would not accommodate. They were very rude, and did not care about customer service at all. I have never in my life had this experience at a restaurant; they have lost a customer for life. Tried pho for the first time last night since it's been super cold! Not a huge beef person so ordered pork, chicken, and shrimp. Comes delivered with a side of sprouts, lime, and jalapeño so you can customize your bowl. Sweet lord was this broth delicious!!!! I mean I ate a massive portion and took some home. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DINING IN. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Food was good but the customer service was poor. We felt rushed and were not offered any other drink besides water. While we were still eating and talking, the cashier yelled from the register to pay upfront ( did not offer to go containers) and they automatically charged gratuity into the check without our knowledge (18%) .
