It's a small space, but I'm always able to get a seat once I walk in. They greet you quickly and get the order right. I love the soups and the shrimp and pork rolls. Just amazing. Unassuming on the outside but my goodness, what treasures lay inside. I try banh mi and pho in every city I go to, but none ever seems to compare to Vietnam Cafe. The ingredients are just so fresh, the portions are incredible and you can tell they don't cut corners in preparing your meal- it's just straight up delicious. I am happy to find an authentic Vietnamese restaurant out in the suburbs. First off, I'm impressed by the friendly service. It's common of Asian restaurants to have angry elderly wait staff. So it's a breath of fresh air to get such friendly and attentive service from a younger crowd. Secondly, the food was flavorful. We ordered duck and bamboo noodle soup and beef stew which are not commonly found at Vietnamese restaurants, especially the duck with bamboo noodle soup. Both were really good especially the beef stew. I'm excited now to try other dishes. There is so much variety on the menu. One thing, that could be better though was the battered squid. The batter was tough and flavorless. The dipping was really needed. We also ordered che ba mau dessert to take out. It was tasty. And the Vietnamese iced coffee was on point. I came for lunch. I had the wonton soup and Bun Chuy. The soup is a clear broth with a much lighter flavor than the Chinese version. The wontons were thick and flavorful. Bun Chay is fried tofu and veggies over rice noodles. The tofu had texture. There was a variety of vegetables. I added sriracha. Both dishes were delicious. The menu is extensive. If you want authentic Vietnamese food and not have to travel down to the city, Vietnam Cafe is the to go place. They have specials on Friday's and Saturdays that are really authentic. Bun mam is one them and it's hard to find that dish around the area. While it's a tad pricey it is very much worth the money. read more

We had shrimp cake on sugar cane, Banh Xeo (pancake), grilled pork and cha gio (fried roll) on vermicelli, and a beef pho. The cha gio was not my favorite I ever had, but it only stood out because everything else was so good. The pancake was super crispy. The pho broth was light and clean. When I make it at home I use anise and *way* more fish sauce that results in a stronger flavor, but this was nice and allowed the meat and bean sprouts to shine.
