    Welcome counter!

Best Pho I've found since leaving Hawaii. The broth is layered with spices and it is served with a ton of fresh Lemongrass and green onion. Thai Basil, a lime piece, and copious amounts of bean sprouts are served on the side for you to add to your liking. I read in a review this style is described as Northern Vietnamese. Apparently it's distinguishable by wider noodles, clearer broth, more common cuts of rare beef or chicken, less sweet, and many green onions, With pho, I feel the more fresh herbs the better. You can always adjust the spice levels with the sriracha and hoisin sauce. I was the only person in the restaurant when I arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday. According to their sign, they are closed on Mondays and open 11-9 all other days, except for Sunday when it's 12-9. I suppose 2:30 is an odd time of day for lunch, but the service was very quick which I appreciated. The two women at the counter greeted me warmly and welcomed me to take a look at the menu. This felt like a mother daughter duo with their chef in the back room. I was happy to find multiple options of pho and banh mi. They also had various rice paper rolls and spring rolls. I love the vegetarian rolls with peanut sauce on a warmer day: I'll have to come back to try theirs! The vegetarian menu was nearly as long as the standard menu which gives lots to choose from. I decided to order the pho. The serving was substantial, I took it home and was able to have it for a second meal the next day. The rare filet mignon was served generously and paper thin. The broth immediately cooked it when touching the meat. They gave me a complimentary breadstick and told me it was to submerge in the broth. I'd never had this before, but it kind of reminded me of a light fried dough. It was delicious! The location is part of a newly designed shopping center. There's amble space inside to comfortably seat at least 50 people. The counter is adorned with a smiling lucky cat. Its left paw is raised welcoming you in. Next to it is a beautiful gilded plant that appears to be cultivating good blessings for the lunar new year.

Banh Mi Review Only V'Town is part of the new commercial zone on Old Trenton Road on the eastern edge of Cranbury, NJ. It is around the back of the long building with plenty of parking. The dining areas is clean, bright and airy with utilitarian seating and simple yet attractive wall decor hung by ownership. I was there in the late afternoon after a house call and wanted something that would tied me over through the evening due to a night meeting that would not permit time for dinner with family. The woman behind the counter was very friendly as I checked the wall menu and chose the Spicy Roast Pork Banh Mi and house brewed Oolong Ice Tea to take out. Unwrapping the well packaged sandwich, I beheld a generously stuffed sammy on an authentic French Demi-baguette sized roll, with ample dark brown strips of pork under daikon radish, carrot strips and light sprinkle of sweet vinegar that created a lovely tasty and texturally joyful experience. The bread was perfect with mildly crusty outer shell and soft chewy inners. It was structured so well that hardly a single ingredient fell out as I unhinged my jaw to enable zoftig bites from either end of this fat torpedo. Delicious just scratches the surface of how good this baby was. It pleased all my pleasure centers with each chomp and chew. Now if their Pho is as terrific as the Banh Mi, V'Town will have quite a future in this part of Central Jersey. Well done!

Their daily homemade soup menu is worth a look, with veggie and vegan options across the big board. Combo soup and sandwich is also in play. I went with a Tuna Hoagie on foot long torpedo, with accompanying soft drink and bag o' chips. The tuna was freshly made, with tomato and lettuce, and a side cup of sliced dill pickles that I stuffed into the sandwich for extra crunch and semi sweet flavor enhancement. I had requested that the proposed pickle spear not be built into the sammy to avoid dampening the roll too long before consuming. The cashier/order taker/short order cook took care of business with a pleasant smile and engaging repartee. Ate when I arrived home 40 minutes later, and everything was in great shape and quite tasty. I could only finish half of the meal. A larger selection of drinks and chips would make the experience more complete. 4 P'ton Stars for taking this tradition on the road.

"This looks like a place I would come as a drunk college kid," my husband mused when we first stepped inside. True to his observations, the menu is rife with the kinds of deep fried goodies and artery-clogging sandwiches that are best meant for youthful bodies with optimal metabolism. We ordered a fun variety for ourselves - a meatball parm, a pound of buffalo wings, an order of curly fries, and - to balance things out - the harvest salad. For those ordering sandwiches, know that they're enormous. A half order is an 11" deal, while the whole is a Brobdingnagian 22". Our half sandwich was great, and definitely more than enough for us to share. We had few notes on anything we ordered. The curly fries were hot and crispy, the buffalo wings hot and tangy, and the meatball parm was just as expected. I was particularly surprised by the salad, which was just supposed to be a fresh and green counterpart to all the heavier foods. I would have been happy enough with some greens and a vinaigrette, but we had a pretty robust salad with blue cheese, chicken, and pieces of diced apple. I never would've expected to find a good salad at a place like this one, but there you go. There are a few high tables and stools, but little else by way of ambiance. Clearly, the focus here is to eat and clear out. That said, service at the counter was incredibly warm and friendly. As far as parking goes, there are a few spots out front and even a few more behind the building. I struggled with the number of stars here, because this isn't highbrow or fine dining. If that's what you're after, I'd definitely look elsewhere. But it's predictable, freshly prepared, and therefore perfect for a college town. If that's what you're expecting, this is your four-star spot.
