This is an upscale Vietnamese restaurant in a little strip mall. It's well worth the drive. Friendly efficient service and fresh tasty Asian fare. I love the Deluxe Vermicelli Bowl. Pho Thai Nam has a wonderful menu filled with everything you could possibly want from appetizers to entrees. My friends and I went for lunch. Which it was pretty crowded the service was still good. Our food came quickly and was expertly prepared. The Massaman Curry is one of my absolute favorites and it did not disappoint. The wonton soup was the best we had ever tried, and the basil fried rice was a generous portion. You can tell that lots of care goes into each dish. I absolutely LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. Like, I have been here so many times and the experience is always great. First off, the food- delicious! Every time! The second I take a bite or slurp of whatever I'm eating, its literally just pure happiness. Like this place just brings me too much joy- Its THAT good. Also, the service here is outstanding. The food is always brought out so quickly- In fact, I'm always shocked by how quick it is brought out by the staff- which are always very nice and lowkey super chill with everything- even when the restaurant is considered busy. And then there's one of my favorite things about the restaurant, which is the decorations! It is difficult to get me to admit there might be better pho than those bowls served up on Washington Ave in the city. That being said, Pho Thai Nam is at least as good as any I've found in the city. We often just come for a big bowl of Pho. It will fill you up and is created with care. On a few (extra hungry) type occasions, we'll add an app - our usual go-to is Summer Rolls, which are also solid additions to your meal. We've checked out a few other dishes, which have also been good but seriously why go with a non-Pho dish when their Pho dish is so good? The restaurant is kept clean and a decent size. I'm not saying you'll never need to wait, but I've never had to wait long for a 2-top. Service is also friendly and welcoming. Food was good, service excellent . I would advise eveyone to took at your bill carefully. Went as a party of 4 , the 20% tip was automatically added but stated as "service feel". Then when they gave me the final receipt where I was supposed to sign , the total had the "service fee" added but below that was TIP : with a blank beside it. If you're not paying attention you would still put an amount there even though the total already included the tip. My husband and I are very generous tippers. But that turned me off. The receipt is designed in a way to mislead people . I also have never seen a restaurant that added the tip for a party of 4. They usually do that for a party of 6 or more. read more

We ordered: chicken dumplings- flavorful and the dumplings were so soft and we loved the sauce pad tai with beef- super tasty and so fresh Beef pho- one of the best phos we had! Not to salty and so much flavor. Noodles were cooked great and the broth was very good Grilled pork on rice- wish we got more pork but overall great. The salad on the side we could go without it and have more pork Overall parking, service and food was amazing, we did order the sticky rice with mango to go and it was super cute and tasted great. Came here with a friend for dinner on a Sunday night. There are a lot of Thai restaurants in the area but this was one that was highly recommended by other friends. The menu is pretty typical of Thai cuisines, like curry, pad thai, and pad khee mao, but there were also some Vietnamese dishes too. I went for the Salmon in Red Curry Chef Special, while my friend ordered the Basil Fried Rice. The salmon was baked and prepared well and the curry was pretty delicious with it. The Basil Fried rice looked like a hefty portion, but I wouldn't say it was all that impressive. Overall the curry was pretty darn good, and I would order that again. The inside of the restaurant wasn't packed, though there were about 10 other tables that were occupied at about 5pm. The wait staff was pretty nice, checking on us frequently for our needs. After having my overpriced dinner, I understand why the Google reviews seem so polarized--some people raved over it while others gave one star. The interior design/decor is definitely five stars. Food is probably 3.5 stars; service is 3.5 stars; price is 2 stars. That's why I said it's solid three stars to me. Let's talk about food. I had special pho, which is $17.95. At this price point, I had to look for meat in my noodle soup. There's barely any protein--not even a full beef meatball. I can't believe the level of stinginess. Pho is never and should never be this expensive. The flavor is standard, and I highly suspect the soup base is from some pre-made mix. My husband had drunken noodles with beef, which is $18.95--his is of better value than mine, as there are noticeable beef and vegetables. Flavor is also standard--nothing to justify the high price and the portion leans to the smaller side. Besides, their soda price is outrageous--either $2.75 or $2.95 per can!! All in all, we left underwhelmed and I don't think I'll come back soon. One nice thing about this place: They allow you to bring your own bottle. But I'm not a drinker. read more

Didn't need a reservation on a Sunday night, but looks like it could get busy on a Friday or Sunday. The service was quick, food was delicious, and environment just classy enough for my liking. We had the drunken noodles with chicken, lemongrass beef noodle soup (bun bo hue), and pho with well done brisket. The kids pho is very small and not enough unless your kids are really young (maybe a 5 or 6 year old or younger). Fortunately, you can add extra noodles which gives you much more noodles than the original portion. The bun Bo hue was very good. Beef was soft and tender and the broth was flavored well. I would highly recommend this dish. The drunken noodles was also not bad. It had a variety of vegetables and the chicken was pretty tender and not dry. Someone else in our party got the special rice plate and didn't care for it. The portion of meat was small and very thin. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. I got The fortune bags appetizer, papaya salad, and drunken noodles. I wasn't a big fan of the papaya salad. I'm used to the sweet and softer papaya and this was a little different. More of the texture of coleslaw with a slightly different taste. Drunken noodles and pad Thai here are always a hit. I will say that the portions of a lot of things have give down since the pandemic. Appetizers now have fewer quantities included. (Ex fortune bags now have 3 instead of 4 included). Stunning! Beautiful restaurant with great food. A amazing late out to night dinner with friends. Only a few downsides... The food hits well home for me, my family mostly consisting of family members from Vietnam. The best type of food is cooked by family, and this restaurant really felt like family was cooking. The menu offered so many different dishes all amazing thought out. The restaurant itself was stunning inside. Amazing layout and thoughtful. Staff were kind and the waiting area was nice. The outside of the restaurant looks kinda- weird. But it was pretty inside. We found out if you pay with cash YOU CAN GET 5% OFF your total price. Which we didn't t know but will do next time. The downsides are few to none, the outside is kind of confusing. It's in a small plaza and doesn't have a big sign on the front indicating it's a restaurant. The parking is short-a mess, this lot being shared with many stores, so it might be hard to find a spot at times. Another mini problem is the waiters, our waiter was so kind and nice to us, the bad thing is it was clear they were understaffed or something. Our waiter was in such a rush so we barely saw them. They would come and go so quick and we would never be able to get his attention due to them running around the restaurant. My husband and I have been wanting to come here for so long. We finally made it here on a Friday night. Wow it's SOOOO busy, especially the take out line. Dine in line seems long but we surprisingly didn't wait too long. After we were seated, we waited awhile before the waiter comes to us. I know he is very busy. He took our order very quickly and got us water. He is very efficient but I would say not very attentive. He didn't ask my husband how spicy he wants his drunken noodles, but thankfully he loves the spicy level. I got grilled chicken vermicelli with spring roll and my husband got drunken noodles. Wow both of our food were very good. I am not a fan of the spring roll but my entree is very good. There's so many dishes we want to come back and try. It seems like a lot of people get pho or other soup base dish. I'll update my review once I come back to try other things. read more

Excellent - darn close to 5 star. Had not been here since pre-pandemic but Pho Thai Nam is even better than I remember, albeit higher prices than back in 2019/2018/2017. Service was efficient and ultra quick. We enjoyed Shrimp Spring (Summer) rolls - not fried. Delicious Tom Kha soup (my fave - and they make a good one here!) Chick Pho (my friend) and Pork over Vermicelli (me). So tasty - we devoured nearly every bite! (Took a small bit home, too good to leave it behind). Lunch is still a good value but it is NOT $12 any more! Can't wait to visit again. read more

I have been a long time customer and love the food generally, however I was in town and decided to get food from here the other night when the man who gave me my togo order asked me for anything else and I asked, "Can I get chopsticks?" but when he handed them to me he coughed in the same hand. Took my 88 year old mom who is visiting out of town here for lunch. We usually order delivery and we enjoy the food! Let me just say that the older gentlemen waiting tables there was miserable and very unfriendly. His tone was very stern and he has zero personality. We both ordered a lunch special and told the waiter we need it VERY MILD. My mom wanted one of the soup choices for her lunch. Waiter never told her us that it was spicy AF. My mom took a sip and immediately started coughing. I told the waiter that she couldn't eat the soup because it was way too spicy and this was his response- "YOU GET NO EXCHANGE". To which I said- FINE, please take it away!! There was ZERO empathy.. I heard him tell another person working there "she said the soup was too spicy" in a condescending voice. There was another gentleman working there who was younger and tall. He was VERY pleasant and had a smile on his face. Anyways, we ordered fried shrimp and some shrimp in blanket and fortune bags- both very delicious! Pad Thai was a little on the greasy side but still good. Sauteed eggplant was not good. Unbeknownst to me my husband had known & visited this spot for years with friends from work but just recently shared it with me. I was not disappointed & rather pleased with its delights.
