My wife and I had a truly wonderful time! We had a late check in, but the owner Chris, gave us perfect entry instructions and even warned us of the auto lights by our room. Lovely private bedrooms with updated bathrooms. Stayed in the Griffin Room, and we loved it! Perfect homebase for the wedding weekend. Located wonderfully on the main drag, we were able to get dinner, coffee and lunch all within walking distance! The breakfast part of our stay was really so lovely. Chris was a delight to talk to, had lots of recommendations locally, was very funny, and the food was delicious. It was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and Chris really was a character. Being local, he had so many stories of the area, of the house itself, the process of updating it, and incredibly funny stories of some of the events they've had. The wedding couple followed up with us asking if we would recommend the 1812 House in the future, and we mentioned that it is on our list to stay if we return to the Tug Hill!

One of the staff members was very friendly and I looked her a lot, always remembered what my wife and I were drinking. The overall atmosphere is pretty good, but this place is probably only suitable for weddings under 50 people; if you can live with creaky floors and that giant wood beam upstairs.

Gorgeous venue to attend, HOWEVER…read more.. the rain setting (indoor) ceremony only had about 20-30 seats. Many guests were forced upstairs without a view of the bride and groom. Bridal party had to balance on the stairs for the ceremony. Truly a shame that about half the guests had to stand, had a limited or no view of the ceremony. The bathroom is also weird. Same bathroom for men and woman. Woman's stall had a full door but the men's had a salon style door that did not close and had no privacy. Not everyone is comfortable with that. I'd love to attend an outdoor ceremony, but the weather is unpredictable. It may be beneficial if there was a large white event tent that can be used for the rain and other outdoor events.

Down a flight of stairs is a small lounge with a pool table, where they also had a photo booth set up. One special feature here was that the bride arrived at the ceremony in a beautiful white horse-drawn carriage provided by the farm. It was a really nice touch. Post ceremony, the carriage reappeared to take the bride and groom away for photos during cocktail hour. Another shining point was the food. On-site smoked meats... Wow. The chicken and roast beef were particular amazing. Not just good, but excellent. All of the sides were also tasty, and the dessert spread was pretty impressive as well. A few downsides: there is no AC in the main part of the barn, only in the bedroom suite areas for the wedding party prep. This was a September wedding, but happened to fall on a day with near-record high temps, so even with fans running, we were all pretty uncomfortable until the sun finally went down. Also, there was no sign of a full bar on the premises, nor fountain soda or beer on tap. Bottles only. But, considering that Henry Hill Farm is new on the wedding scene, maybe they plan on making these upgrades at a later date. Overall, this is a very nice venue on pretty grounds with very friendly staff, excellent service, amazing meats, and a fun country vibe. Tip for the ladies: opt for flats, wedges, or block heals... but leave the stilettos at home. The walkway from the parking lot and areas around the barn are gravel, which isn't so stiletto-friendly.

We went for the Korean buffet event, and to put it politely, our dining experience could not have been further from the glowing 5-star reviews on Yelp. First and foremost, there was minimal food actually available, and virtually no meat items. A few rolls of kimbap, or veggie pancakes were brought out one at a time, we were told everything was being prepared fresh and would take time. None of the chaffing dishes had any heat source, so any food that did linger alarmingly sat room temperature. A sad empty bowl of vinegar once contained picked radishes, I imagine. While an empty plate of watermelon juice presumably once was home to actual watermelon. The consensus of our party was if nobody got food poisoning we'd consider it a win, so giving a second star for that at least!

The Royal Suite is very luxurious and romantic. The staff, Arthur, Scott, Eric, and Angel were very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Both dinner and breakfast were served elegantly in the dining room and were filling and fun. We played games in the Smoking Room and danced in the Breakfast Nook (the most beautiful room in the castle). It was a memory we will cherish.
