We stayed in the Orca Suite. House keeping, staff, were all friendly, helpful, and super responsive. The room itself was cute. However, for 3-500$ a night, the amenities were mediocre. Coffee, hot chocolate, and tea were a bit stale and old. No AC these days in the summer is unbearable. At least install mini-splits in the rooms. Insect control was not good either. We were met at the main house at the entrance by the staff who told us we need to see Sarah to show us our accommodations of the house next to us. She was very gracious and showed us around plus, she showed us little special items that she had for us on arrival which included cookies for my wife and I a nondairy cupcake for my daughter and two pet friendly cupcakes for our puppy. How cool is that? They put a lot of thought into the design of this place and it is truly a wonderful bed-and-breakfast situation. All the little details have been thawed out from the entryway right to the bathroom. We are in Friday Harbor Friday. Harbor has a reputation and it is not inexpensive to be in this area so don't be surprised by price stickers if you shop around. You get what you pay for here they give you a lot of class along with a good product. We stayed two nights at Tucker House while visiting Friday Harbor. From the moment I made my reservation until the moment we left, the experience was 5 star quality! I paid extra for a special package which included a $100 voucher at a local restaurant. Within minutes of making the online reservation I received a call from Tucker House telling me the restaurant would be closed while we were going to be there and offered me options, including reducing the cost of the special package. They then gave me recommendations for other restaurants as well as great information in general about our visit to the island since this was our first time visiting. Upon arrival, we were greeted in person and shown to our room which was set up perfectly. The daily breakfast delivered to our door was wonderful and someone was always available to answer any questions or provide anything needed. We had such a lovely stay at Tucker House this weekend. Very much regret we could only stay one night. It's a charming place with very nice employees. We stayed in the Shaw Suite. So many really nice touches in the room--anything you could want. Delicious hot breakfast was delivered to our door in a basket. The experience was like staying in a charming Bed and Breakfast but with our own room and bath with tons of privacy. Just want to warn that if you are walking from the Ferry Terminal, be ready for a bit of a hill. 100% would stay again. read more

My dog and I had a wonderful stay at the Tucker House. We rented Jennie's cabin which is small but effectively laid out. There is a cute little kitchenette and decently sized bathroom. French press coffee, which was very good, is supplied along with some teas and hot coco mix. And the towels are really nice, very soft which I appreciate. My dog enjoyed it as well. In her opinion any trip that starts with a cupcake is a good trip. They supplied a nice clean water bowl as well and plenty of space in the floor for her bed. She also liked the dog area, which is just feet from the cottage. Granted my dog weighs 16 pounds so the size of the yard might be less impressive for your bigger types of puppies. The tucker house is located in town so it's easy to walk to anywhere but it's off the beaten path enough that you're not officially inside of all the action. The gas-burning fireplace in the common room heated up,beautifully and was capable of keeping the whole unit cozy on a cool night. Our only regret was that we only planned to stay one night. We worked with Anna Maria to plan our lovely 23 person wedding at Tucker House Inn and Coho Restaurant. The event was everything we could have hoped to be, and this place is absolutely perfect for small to mid sized weddings! Pricing was transparent and reasonable for a destination wedding. Anna Maria was easy to access for any questions or planning along the way. She did much of the coordination for us like buying and putting together favors, procuring and arranging flowers, and working with the restaurant to come up with an amazing, seasonally inspired, farm fresh menu for our reception. Most of our guests stayed at the inn with us, which was a ton of fun to see everyone. They delivered favors to those who stayed at the inn, so our guests got a fun little surprise. Everyone loved their rooms. Each room is unique, and there are a handful that have a hot tub including the Friday Harbor Suite where we stayed. Our suite was SO nice. It had a little kitchen, king size bed, updated bathroom with dual shower heads, fireplace, plenty of room and storage, and multiple seating areas. It also had a large, secluded hot tub on the deck overlooking the town. We loved our room, and it was the perfect place to stay during our wedding weekend. It was also a good sized room to host a few friends the day of our wedding as I was getting ready. Every morning, a different homemade breakfast was delivered to our room. It was very tasty and filling. There were a couple guests who wished that deliveries started earlier in the morning, but otherwise it was great! You could also add on hard boiled eggs and/or parfaits, which a picky friend of mine did since breakfast was always a surprise and she didn't know if she would like it. Our ceremony took place in the garden under a big beautiful willow tree. We paid extra to have the street closed off during it to minimize noise. We also paid to have a guitarist play music during and after the ceremony. We had our families book the rooms right next to the ceremony space so that we were able to gather and procession out from there. That was convenient and I recommend doing that if you can! The inn took care of setting up the chairs. We had no other decor since we were coming out of state and wanted to keep things simple. I think the garden is beautiful enough to do this! We had a small table off to the side with a welcome message and guest book, which the inn also set up. All in all, our wedding was everything we wanted it to be - intimate, simple, in nature, with amazing food. We were so happy with how everything turned out and went very smoothly. We were in the Lopez suite and were blown away by the space and features of the room. It was just the two of us but the space can clearly be utilized for much larger groups. There are two rooms: one with three beds (queen, double, twin) and one with a queen. The one with a queen has a tv, table/chairs and a foldout couch for even more sleeping space. There's a full kitchen, spacious bathroom, and balcony with a grill. They have robes which always makes me happy. We didn't utilize them, but they have kayaks and bikes for visitors to use. This is a great perk especially in a small community which is very bike friendly. Everyone was very friendly. The location was quiet and comfortable, close walk to lots of things. Breakfast was delivered to the door in the morning. There was a French press and fresh milk for coffee which was a great touch. Cookies left in the room to greet us. Great place. The location was convenient, the breakfasts were tasty without being too much (totally recommend getting the add-on yogurt parfait with house made granola). Afternoon snacks were a pleasant surprise. We stayed 2 nights at a room called Patience Corner, which after Memorial Day is $260 a night + tax. The room was small; the queen size bed took up 3/4 of the space. The bathroom; however, was spacious and stocked with Washington-made bath products which was nice. If you open the windows, you can hear the street noise. Breakfast the first morning was Eggs Benedict on a bed of black beans instead of an English muffin served with asparagus. The second day, it was asparagus quiche serviced with a salad. I was not impressed with the type nor the quality of the entrees. The best part of the breakfasts was the granola that was on the table. The added "surprise" was a sample dessert after the meal. Perhaps all the other accommodations in Friday Harbor are expensive, but I didn't think Tucker House was worth the price. 6/10/2014: I'm so tempted to remove one star from my rating because once again, the owner of Tucker House, Anna Maria, has decided to use her response to my review as a way to tout her offerings and advertise her business...just like she did in my review of Coho Restaurant which she also owns. I think that was very tacky and a real turn-off. Both her responses were longer than my reviews. My opinion stands despite her justifications. read more

We stayed here two nights July 2021. Patience Corner was our room. Accommodations were nice. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Communication was pretty good throughout the lead up to our stay. We got a couple of calls regarding our stay from some New York phone number so glad we answered! Never was identified as Tucker Inn. What was odd is that we NEVER saw anyone during our stay there. Every time we just walked into house and saw no employees ever. We were told our room would be available at 4 but received a call at 1:30 that it was ready. We were happy because we had some events planned at 4:30 so it was good we did not have to rush. Check out is 10 am though- that is very early in my opinion. We paid $330 a night which is a lot for this room but it was all we could find when we were booking. The breakfasts were very good. Loved both entrees each morning. They arrive at 8:30 am. We are early risers so that's a bit late. This room does not have coffee service so we had to go downstairs and fumble around the kitchen. They only have a french press there with the room name so you have to get your cups etc. - no real cream - powdered milk only. Really - for $330 a night? That was disappointing. I love good hot coffee with cream and if I have to make it myself real cream would have been nice! The yogurt cups were delicious. Glad we ordered those both days. The room was nice and cool in the evening - it can get a bit noisy in the morning with windows open but we slept great. All in all, we would opt for a different place next time due to cost and the fact we never saw anyone in person. I know Covid has something to do with that but it's not hard to take necessary precautions to at least greet guests as many hotels or locations do. We took precautions while in kitchen wearing masks, respecting each other's distance whilst fumbling around in kitchen helping each other find our $330 worth of coffee. read more

This was my first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast (have only seen them on the Hallmark channel). And I was very surprised! The staff was super friendly and didn't try to overstay their welcome but are here if you need them. You may be greeted by Porter the friendliest pup who is usually sitting inside the Tucker House ready to greet guests. Upon arriving we had a wonderful tour from Vanessa who showed us around along with all the amenities and communal areas. Once we arrived to the room there was fresh cookies to enjoy, a cozy fireplace and a great view. Each morning you have the option to have breakfast delivered the the room and orders must be placed by 4pm the day prior. You have an entree choice, yogurt with fruit and milk or juice (the orange juice is amazing!!). Tucker house is a very short walk to the ferry terminal and an even shorter drive if you have a vehicle. Perfect place to call home for the weekend! read more

The room was amazing with our own fireplace and a jacuzzi tub big enough for 3 people!! The decor was done beautifully. The bed had very nice linens with a very comfortable mattress. We were able to fall asleep with the fireplace on and the slider open listening to the rain as we fell asleep In the morning we were treated to "breakfast in bed" They bring you your own French press and a fresh made breakfast to your room. Best accommodation on the island! My partner and I decided on a spontaneous trip to San Juan and were calling around to see where we could stay. Something about this place though felt right (I have great radar) and what do you know, there were absolutely no regrets! On the contrary, now we know EXACTLY where to stay when we visit! Patrick answered the phone despite it being after hours, came to the location in less than 15 minutes, and had us sold in less than 5. The room itself was oh so cozy (a modern Little Town on the Prairie), the bathroom sensual (jetted spa tub with bubbles, spacious shower, and bathrobes), and the amenities so convenient (liquid products appear to be 5x the size of what you'd get at a hotel). We absolutely loved staying here! Important things to note: - The front doors remain unlocked (even during the night), but the rooms themselves have locks (with a small deadbolt flap) - January is a slow season so you're likely to have more room choices. July and August are the busiest - Check out is 10AM (not 11AM like a hotel) - Pet friendly. $45/day/pet - Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. so no loud noises such as the hot tub/bathtub jets. There is a $200 fine for excessive noise. - Offers concierge service and can arrange local adventures such as massages, whale watching, etc. They also offer complimentary kayaks and bikes read more

We had a good 2 night stay here in the Middleton Suite. The Inn Keepers were great in the few interactions that we had. The breakfasts were awesome. I took away a star because they told us to drop off our luggage early in their office (unattended) and had us tag them all. They were supposed to be "right back" to bring our luggage to the room. After our 3 hour whale watching trip we were disappointed to find that our luggage was still behind the desk in the main office unattended. We would have been fine leaving our luggage hidden in our trunk in a locked car under these circumstances. They did make up for the poor first impression with great service beyond that and we would recommend the Tucker House Inn. read more

We had a wonderful stay in Lizzies Cottage this week. Anna Maria and staff were very kind. This was for us a simple two day getaway a couple months into my wife's Knee Replacement surgery. They were clearly very covid careful. Airing out between guests plus thorough cleaning. Breakfast was awesome delivered contactless each morning with accommodations to our diet. We let them know we are Keto and they made special breakfasts for us that were delicious. Great location to walk to ferry and town shops. We will definitely return. The Tucker House staff were super friendly. My wife and I got off the ferry at 1:00 PM and went straight to the Tucker House, hoping we could leave our bags while walking around town, and surprise of all surprises they had our room ready for us. That was nice! On the downside, we came during the hottest days of the season and our room, the Four Winds, was like an oven. The temps were in the mid-80s outside and the 90s in our room. The inn does not have air conditioning which, in their defense, is not typically needed on the island. Thankfully they provided us with a small fan, so that helped circulate the hot air. Later in the day, we opened the windows to allow the cooler air in but then we heard so much street noise, as the Tucker House is on a road with consistent foot and road traffic. If you do not mind a very hot room, or if you are coming anytime other than July/August then add a star to this review. We ate at the Coho restaurant, owned by the same people that own the Tucker House, to which we would give 5 stars. The location is small, but the food was delicious and the staff was super friendly! We enjoyed a nice, quiet, intimate dinner! We discovered something on this trip: bed and breakfasts are not for us. The reason is, to eat breakfast you must sit around the table with all the other guests, and eat food that you did not (and, in our case, would not) order. This is ok if the guests are friendly and interactive, which, the first day they were. The second day my wife got stuck next to a man who simply talked her ear off. He literally talked AT her the entire time. My wife and I could barely even talk with each other for this man's intrusiveness. But this was not the Tucker House's fault, it's a typical B&B, so if you do not mind having your food selected for you, and if you enjoy group talk rather than private time, add a star to this review. Overall, I would give the staff 5 stars, the location 4 stars (due to road noise), the food 2 stars (personal taste and preference) and the inn itself 3 stars. Had an amazing stay at the Tucker House Inn! My husband and I flew up here for a getaway weekend and stayed one night in the Middleton suite. Everything about the room was fabulous... They literally think of everything - all the comforts of home so you can really pack light. Shampoo and soap in the shower, q tips and cotton balls and robes in the bathroom... The kitchen is fully stocked so if you want to cook your own food they have a very nice brand new stove, full-size refrigerator, brand new microwave... feels like a one bedroom apartment....very spacious, beautiful granite countertops and new flooring. They really go above and beyond to make your stay very nice. You can leave your bags in the office while you wait for check in time so you don't have to carry them around if you go exploring. We didn't even need a car because everything is walking distance. Also highly recommend Friday Harbor cruises for a sunset boat ride! read more

We stayed in the Middleton Suite at the Tucker House this last weekend with our 2.5 year old daughter. The suite was wonderful. I felt like we had plenty of room, and its always nice to have a separate room with a young child for nap times. The kitchen is nicely renovated and well stocked. Staff made sure that we had snacks in the cupboard, and milk and juice in the fridge. Shelley and her team were wonderfully accommodating. We arrived a little bit before check in, but our room was ready for us. Breakfast was delicious, and I was so impressed at how they managed our meal preferences. They made sure to accommodate my husbands dairy free diet, and made my daughter her own kid-friendly meals. It was also so nice that breakfast was delivered to our room. Another one of those little things that makes traveling with a toddler just a little bit easier! The location is great, you can walk to everything. We really enjoyed the little park just down the road. If I had one complaint, it would probably be the limited parking. There were a few spaces next to our suite, but it was tight and we had to find street parking a few times. It was not terrible, just a little inconvenient when you have a little person who doesn't always want to walk! read more

I love this darling bed-and-breakfast. I went there were three girlfriends and one dog, we were treated like royalty and the dog was even given a special treat that they made on the premises. The breakfasts are very good. Friday Harbor is a fun town with lots to do or little to do, depending on what your desires are. The staff at the Inns are nice and helpful. The Coho restaurant is tiny but has excellent food, a little pricey. Both rooms we stayed in were accomodating. Would definitely recommend for couples or a girls weekend. read more

On check in, we were greeted by name and walked to our room and given a tour. There was fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge, 2 fresh baked cookies and a biscuit for our dog. They had dog bowls for our pet as well. The cabin was very clean. They had coffee and tea in the kitchen. I'm the morning breakfast was brought to our room. We had the most tasty quiche and granola. My boyfriend & I stayed here with our small dog for a weekend to get away from the city. We stayed in the "goose in the pond" cottage because they would allow our dog in that room. It was a quaint, cozy little cottage--we loved it! The breakfast was amazing--you can eat in their dining room or have it brought to your room. We had ham and cheese crepes, roasted pineapple, and a spice cake with homemade whipped cream.....it was heavenly! I would love to stay here during the summer and maybe walk on the ferry next time...the b&b is about a 5 minute walk from the ferry dock! Not only are they "dog friendly" but I felt like they went the extra mile. They have a fenced in yard and had homemade dog treats waiting for us when we checked in. My partner and I just stayed at Tucker House B&B for two nights over the last weekend. We too ended up arriving a little after their 4-6pm check in window and were told there were keys waiting for us in an envelope in the lobby. When we arrived they weren't there, so we drove up to their other lobby and looked in there too - nothing. At that point my partner tried to call one of the staff and got no answer. Finally, after waiting about 15 minutes someone I guess had gotten the message she left on the machine and found us in the parking lot. She informed us there wasn't room for us to eat in the main dining room so they would deliver the food to our room. In a few minutes we were into the room. The room itself was clean, but amenities were lacking and the construction was poor. This particular room could just as well be a Super-8 motel suite. It had untreated wood trim, a "kitchenette" with appliances out of the 70's that made all kinds of strange noises. And a shower that looks like it was re purposed from an RV. The whole quality of the room really just lacks attention to detail, like having double light switches with only one active switch in it and the other just a blank hole to the wall. The bathroom fan which turns itself off and on because of a short in the wall. And a mattress with squeaky springs. The decor was old paintings and a kindof random plastic mirror that you might find at the local thrift store. At least we were looking forward to breakfast based on some of the reviews we've read online. So we went to bed and awaited the wonderful meal we were sure to have. In the middle of the night we were woken up by the sound of our neighbor snoring, luckily after about 20 minutes he rolled over (could hear him roll over) and stopped. The next morning they brought down breakfast. We had requested their vegetarian breakfast (which they offer as an option) and were really disappointed with it. The food arrived cold, late, and the portion sizes were TINY. The presentation was nice though. Luckily we had some of our own food with us and were able to make some toast to supplement. Day two was the same, except even smaller portions, a single fork for the both of us to enjoy our eggs (??), and the fish slices that they included on the plate with two mini bagels was a nice presentation - but not really suitable for a vegetarian meal. Overall the stay was mediocre at best. The staff were friendly (when you saw them), but otherwise it just felt like just about any other motel to us, except at twice the price. If you are looking for a "Bed and Breakfast" experience, this unfortunately is not it. read more

We had a wonderful relaxing time. It's not the place to go if you want to be loud and 'party'. They will come tell you to be quiet FYI. Tucker House is an absolutely wonderful B&B only blocks from the "main drag" of Friday Harbor. Every morning there was a multi-course breakfast (different and wonderful each morning) and I believe every room has a jacuzzi tub! We were originally booked at Rosario Resort on Orcas Island, but after reading many negative reviews, we decided to move over to Tucker House on San Juan Island...we couldn't have been happier with our choice! My wife and I spent our first anniversary in Friday Harbor. We stayed at the Tucker House Inn and booked the "Roche Harbor Cottage." Honestly, I can't imagine a better way to spend the occasion. Not only is San Juan Island beautiful, but Tucker House was incredibly convenient with superb service and all the amenities we required for our romantic weekend getaway. We got a late start departing for Friday Harbor, so I called the Inn to let them know. They were incredibly nice on the phone, wishing me a happy anniversary and promising to have all our check-in information waiting for us to pick up at our leisure. My wife doesn't eat eggs or dairy, so I was sure to inform them of that when we made the reservation. When we arrived, our fridge was stocked with juice, milk (for me), and soy milk (for her), along with two fresh cookies (one of them vegan, for her) and fresh ground coffee for our morning. Breakfast was always on-time, always delicious, and always factored in her dietary restrictions. Furthermore, the staff was incredibly helpful, and took every step to ensure we were comfortable. The room did that as well, with a private hot tub, (faux) fireplace, and full kitchen. I highly recommend this location for quiet getaways to San Juan Island. read more

My wife & I stayed here over V-day weekend (3 nights), it was amazing!! Quaint, cozy & met all of our expectations! The morning breakfast were a major hi light not to be missed out on! First you're welcomed into a common dinning area to a long table (farmhouse style). There is homemade yogurt, granola, coffee the works! Each morning was a different incredibly delicious gourmet meal! Each breakfast was unique & absolutely fantastic!! What an amazing experience! We highly recommend The Tucker House to anyone wanting a unique experience of Friday Harbor, it's convenient to the ferry terminal & everything around as well! read more

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay here during her birthday weekend. The rooms were charming and the staff were very friendly. The B&B offers free bike and kayak use for people staying (unlike other places on the island that recommend renting a kayak or bike from one of the local business); we biked around the island and ended up getting a flat tire by Cattle Point. When we called the B&B the owner drove out to pick us up which was indicative of the great service and the feeling that they're there for you. The breakfast provided every morning good and the homemade granola is AMAZING! The B&B is conveniently located in short walking distance from the ferry and we will definitely be coming back!
