Fred Meyer is immediately across the street so if you forgot anything at home, or need something, it's a quick purchase. The staff was nice and check in and out was smooth and easy. The rooms were cleaned and more modern than the lobby and hallways. It's a dog friendly hotel and we were right next to the exit, so it was nice getting our dog in and out for the bathroom. The shower head could be better. The room felt a bit humid. There was free breakfast in the morning, it's limited breakfast, but it has the basics-- coffee, cereal, waffle, bread, yogurt. You can't take the breakfast food to your room though.

Betty has thought of virtually everything a traveler could need and guests get free reign of the upstairs during their stay. I love that Betty welcomes people to take home unfinished books from her library - "books are meant to be read, not sit on a shelf," she says. Breakfast was made at the prearranged time convenient for us (so appreciated!) and was delicious and abundant. She sat and chatted with us during breakfast and is so personable. We had to depart on a jet plane that afternoon after our 4-day trip to the Evergreen State and had a few bottles of wine that we hadn't enjoyed so I offered them to Betty and she even suggested she could take their value off our bill, although I refused because they were a gift to her for our lovely stay. Would be happy to return to Viewmont Manor if we ever find ourselves back in Bellingham!

We had room #111, which is the closest room on the second floor to the main (lobby) building. I thought road noise might be a problem, but it wasn't really noticeable. In fact, there were only two things I didn't like about the room. There are no microwaves in the rooms. But there is a small one in the hallway on each building's floor, shared by all. Not as convenient (we use it a lot for tea, coffee, etc.), but good enough. More annoying was the amount of light coming in from the windows. There are bright security lights on all night (that's good), but the curtains were not designed to cope with that light. Therefore, the room remains pretty bright all night. That I really didn't like. You can look at my photos for an idea of what the breakfast buffet included (e.g., 2 kinds of bread, 2 fruits, 4 dry cereals, coffee, etc.) Nothing remarkable, but I have definitely experienced worse. Overall, it was a comfortable, clean, and relatively quiet room, at an exceptionally good price. Service was always very friendly and helpful. And the location is centrally located, near the I-5 freeway, near downtown, and pretty close to Boulevard Park, Zuanich Point Park, and Whatcom Falls Park. If I return to Bellingham, this would definitely be my first choice of lodging.

They were so kind and considerate when I was a bit on edge because of health care issues. Everyone was friendly, kind and polite. They treated me like a real person. The rooms were just perfect and spotless. The welcome appetizers and drinks were really a nice touch. I have referred quite a few other people to Oxford. The fun thing was about half of them said they already knew about it and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The breakfast was excellent and varied. Thanks for being there for me.

The mugs even came with bags of tasty tea by Smith Co. and coffee by Makeworth Coffee. Super nice touch. Parking was easy and free in the connected garage. The hotel was in a convenient location close to a bunch of downtown shops and restaurants. We walked to Boundary Bay Brewing (we will miss you when you're gone!) for dinner that night and it was a short and pleasant stroll. We both enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

We were there for a week and there would be times where the hotel workers would start vacuuming early morning in the hall without any consideration of the people sleeping. The "continental" breakfast consisted of plain bagels, plain bread, old looking donuts and maybe a pastry here and there. Juice and coffee was also offered to guests but nothing to get overly excited over.The hotel room was fairly clean and the halls always kinda smelled good but that was the best part of the stay. When I, understandably, got upset and said "this is screwed up," the man at reception started literally screaming at me, telling me that "he's just a person" and threatening to call 911 on me. Looking at the exterior of this motel and reading other reviews, it sounds like he saved me a stay in a disgusting motel. Moved on to the Four Corners Sheraton down the road!
