When I walked in I let the staff know I had never surfed before but was wanting to learn. The man walked around the store with me to show me all my options and gave some recommendations before letting me look on my own. Once I picked a board out they put the fins on for me right there and had me pick out a leash (separate purchase) and attached it for me in the store. With my purchase they also provided a little bag with wax, stickers, and a key for the fins in case I needed any of it. I ended up spending much more than the board I returned to amazon. However, for everything I bought, I believe it was reasonably priced. I am grateful this happened, as I now feel secure knowing I will be learning on a board that is best for me. Not to mention the fact that this board is so much prettier too! Throughout my whole experience at Surfers Supplies, everyone who helped me was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The staff worked as a team and made sure every customer left with what they needed, without acting like "salesman". I would definitely recommend Surfers Supplies for any of your surfing necessities. Between decks, wheels, trucks, shoes, and clothes, I think you could find anything you wanted. I guess the thing to remember is that it isn't Walmart. You're going to pay more to get more. The owner goes on trips to determine what will best suit his customers. He seemed really reasonable (we had quite a chat), especially with the advice he was giving to someone who had never skated in her life. It wasn't about selling her $200 worth of gear that she would hate in 5 minutes. He tried to see what she wanted to do, and talked her through natural learning steps to get there. I think a lot of shops don't care. They just want to sell gear. It's kind of like one of those corny movies with the get-rich-quick team and the soul skaters/surfers who just care about the ride. This dude cares about the ride. Getting there is half the fun, correct? Parking is abundant off the main road, 2 hours at a time, which is better than most towns around here.

The NMA has recently gotten back into skateboarding, buying himself a new board & checking out…read morelocal skate parks. He needed a set of new bearings as one of his wheels was grinding. 3 Way Street was recommended, so we headed over there. The place is very close ti the intersection of Eagle & Darby roads, across from Grace Chapel. With its bright green sign, it's very easy to find. We parked in a metered lot - 25 cents for 30 minutes - and walked the 1/4 block to the shop. Inside it's filled with a nice selection of everything a skateboarder needs from boards to wheels. Super nice and friendly guy had the bearings, and also lubricated his existing set so they rolled freely again. They had gotten wet and one had rusted. We bought an extra set of bearings for future use. Great little store, we'll be back.

The place was pretty busy, so "customer service" wasn't all there, understandably. The selection of beach goods was quite plentiful, ranging from flip flops, board shorts, boogie boards (of varying quality), to sunglasses, watches, and a bunch more. It's definitely the one-stop-shop for anything beach related. Once I took my purchase to the register, the staff was very nice, and everyone seemed to enjoy their job. I like that. Great job folks.
