I will start off by saying that I was very unhappy with The Customer Service & with the employee, self proclaimed "arborist " called Zach. Initially, I knew about monster Tree Service either from a flyer in the mail or doing an Internet search and not from a personal recommendation. Last year I hired someone that was recommended to me and I wasn't that happy with their job of trimming my beautiful banyan tree, so I decided maybe I would give monster Tree Service a chance after I got a phone call from their sales person called SUADE he actually was so nice that I agreed to make an appointment in my busy schedule for the next week on a Tuesday at 2 o'clock. I stayed home on Tuesday expecting their employee to be here at the appointed time instead he called my cell phone and wanted to come over four hours earlier? It called me from a number that was not on my phone, therefore I didn't answer it cause I happened to be outside on a beautiful sunny day, enjoying it and working in my garden. My phone was inside. It said it was driving by & earlier was convenient for him as he happened to be in my neighborhood? So? The name was Zach. I've seen other reviews here where they give it good reviews, but I am not going to give a good review because for the first time as a homeowner, someone who actually wants me to hire them was incredibly rude! He said " I drove by and saw your old ficus tree?! ? Strike One! I interjected and said no! she's a beautiful Banyan tree that I have regularly trimmed by professionals. He started reading his "history" and talking to me as if he was a drill sergeant! Strike Two! Bear in mind I've never hired these people, nor will I ever! Because first of all, it's not always about the amount of money, it's about courtesy, good service and fair price , which I was never given a quote even for last year! That is why I went with the recommended company by a friend for last year. Because they actually did quote me a good price.. Zach claims that monster tree quoted me $2400 which if they had, I probably would have hired them, but they did not & that was a lie. And it said this with an attitude, patronizingly. Strike Three! I don't suffer fools gladly, he'd already made three strikes, and the Fourth strike! was when he claimed to have called me to change the appointment from 2 PM to three hours earlier on a busy weekday when I had stayed home to be there for my 2 o'clock appointment? He told me at that point that he didn't think I was a good fit for the company. What? Fifth strike!! Isn't this supposed to be the reverse? He said that he was going TO TRY to fulfill my expectations??? Sixth strike!WHAT? I didn't call monster Tree Service in the first place. I was being acquiescent to SUADE because he was so nice . To tell you the truth my conclusion is: this is a company too big for its britches AND Is NOT FROM FLORIDA OR LOCAL AND what's most important to them is to try to make money in the summertime BUT trees are supposed to be trimmed in the winter time ; and monster Tree Service Of Boca do nothing to follow through with their supposed claims of being excellent. This was a few days ago!! yesterday I called. Nobody answered the phone. I did get one phone call from employee Crystal the day before. I called back twice. Still haven't heard from her. I figure where there's smoke there's fire and I'm not gonna hire a company that starts off with a bad attitude, and then don't try to please a customer in any way shape or form. This tree service called monster tree service is probably a conglomerate people are working out of their homes and I don't trust conglomerates.? I also don't trust people who claim to be arborists!! I've had extremely bad experience with a company in the past that were the same attitude as this one with a little flashlight with a little red dot with the pompous attitude telling me about my Banyon tree that I have taken care of for over 10 years and she looks beautiful and she is one of the most beautiful trees in the neighborhood! I believe that they pay people to give those four star reviews on yelp because they have not got a very good reputation in reality! After all that, the large tree started to lean. I called Castle Tree Art at 2pm. David answered the phone on the first call. We scheduled an appointment for 4pm. The owner David showed up right at 4pm. He looked over the job and gave a price And we agreed at a time to start. He showed up 15 minutes before scheduled with his crew and trucks, and started to work. That was 8:15am. 1:30pm, the entire job was done. 44 foot leaning black olive tree cut down and removed, and stump grinding, and raked up all mulch, all done by 1:30pm. Fair, Honest, Knowledgeable, Insured I was looking for a…read moretree trimmer to trim our coconut palm, an overgrown mahogany tree and an overgrown oak tree. Elmar was the first to come out, that same day as I posted my request, he seemed very knowledgeable and fair so I agreed to go with him. He and his crew was able to do the job today, just four days after my request. I could not be happier with the job they did. Every branch on the mahogany and oak trees were roped off, cut and lowered to the ground. This procedure is time consuming but very important to me as I have a fully landscaped backyard and didn't want any of it damaged. After everything was trimmed, it was all cleaned up by the crew and put in the tree shredder. All loose debris was picked up or blown clean. I highly recommend Elmar and his crew!!
