I called the Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites directly and spoke with the manager, Gabriell J. She was a total professional. I was stressed and upset, but her calm and helpful demeanor completely turned things around. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of through the hotel itself. Lesson learned: always book directly! Not only is the customer service superior, but you get a better price, too. I will absolutely book directly with them for my next trip to Morrow Bay!

Shortly after using a remote check-in service, I was locked out of my room and there was absolutely zero management onsite at this property...from early afternoon until the next day after 10am. That's also what a lot of reviews said. Gabby would do best working as a prison guard where she can exercise her authority as a self-proclaimed bully. Better yet, she should retire as she would likely be fired as being a bully is not okay, unless you're Gabby. Hope the owners know what she is doing to the property. P.S. I also got bedbugs here. So gross. Ugh.

Let's get to the stay, we asked for hardwood flooring and we got that! The rooms were clean and nearly every thing new, although some things in the room do need an upgrades, it seems like they are taking that on a little at a time. The rooms are just amazingly clean and comfortable, new mattresses as well COMFORTABLE. So thank you so so much for the welcoming stay, we were glad we were able to support a family operated business. We will be giving out our recommendations for this stay to family and friends. Also for those who may wanna know, The Sundown Inn is about two blocks away from the docks, close to small businesses and coffee!

I felt very comfortable. Very small shower but okay for me. Week day price was sweet! I motorcycled from Los Angeles and stayed two nights - just to cruise up and down Highway 1. For years we would stay at the Backbay…read moreInn across the street from the Baywood Inn but the Back Bay Inn became run down and in need of a facelift, plus the prices for the rooms increased significantly! We started staying at the Baywood Inn in 2025 and we stay in the Baywood Village Inn which is a fairly new building! The view facing the street is of the bay, Mirazur (a restaurant with friendly staff and very nice outdoor ambience with their fireplace and fire pits) and basically the main street. Everything one might need is in walking distance. Right next door to High Street Deli! The really special thing about the Baywood Village Inn section, is that it is very clean, has a great sliding door that opens up the entire wall of the room, complementary coffee, water, soda drinks and snacks, plus a great complementary breakfast next door at La Palapa. If La Palapa isn't available each guest gets a $10 coupon for coffee/breakfast at Nautical Bean which is right across the street. The front desk staff and the cleaning staff are excellent and they do a fantastic job at welcoming each guest. We live in the Bay Area and visit Baywood approximately 8 times per year and after our first visit at the Baywood Inn, we decided to book our stays with them! Oh yes, and I can't forget to mention the amazing fire pit in the back of the Village Inn. Great for sitting around in the evenings and having a happy hour drink!
